The 2022 Barbell Enthusiasts Collaborative Training Log & Hall of Fame

In continuation of this thread - - it was suggested to start another for a clean slate as we embark into the new year. While we originally attempted a formal challenge on the basis of a long timetable, that broke down somewhat and so the new...

The Flywheel Effect.

"Picture a huge, heavy flywheel. It’s a massive, metal disk mounted horizontally on an axle. It's about 100 feet in diameter, 10 feet thick, and it weighs about 25 tons. Your job is to get that flywheel to move as fast as possible, because momentum—mass times velocity—is what will generate superior...

I just finished a 12 week bulk program and was awesome. I’m to the point where I can’t barely reach my back end as embarrassing as that sounds. I’m no monster but I have 20 inch arms. I don’t understand how guys get bigger than this. Is it a flexibility thing? Am I missing something obvious? Is it...

Folks in the hood thinking white people are afraid.

Last night I went to the Yankee game with 3 of my sons, my oldest son had work. At the end of the game we walked to my sons car which was parked some distance from the stadium as he is the GM for a storage facility and one of his storage facilities is close by the stadium. As we are walking...

How do you "feel" pecs on a bench?

I'm a pretty big gym noobie who maxes out at 40 for the bench. Tend to use dumbells more often because no spotter. But no matter how little or high my weight or reps, I can't feel the squeeze in my pecs (front of chest). I hold eccentric/concentric, keep elbows at 75 degrees, and pull shoulder...

Are we really more fit than average?

We've all heard the statistics that something like 40 percent of Americans are either overweight or obese, and I've heard even higher than that. It's probably a nice ego boost for many of us, thinking we're more fit than the majority of men and women. But is this misleading? Technically anyone...

Any recommendations on a new split?

I started going to the gym around 5 months ago doing an upper/lower split. I was wondering if yall had any recommendations on a new split for me to try out. I've been seeing progress but I feel like my split is too limited for achieving my dream physique (something like Jordan Yeoh). Thanks in...

Working out before the age of 18

Hi! I'm new to this forum and I'm 13 year old boy. I have about 60-70kg and am about 170cm tall. I would like some advice on how to make a workout program. I want to lose weight and gain shoulder muscles, since they're pretty small, even for a 13 year old.

For years now I have been telling (showing) folks how quickly I lose weight once I stop training and eating. My body just doesn't hold my size, some folks are lucky that they do, others gain weight, me I just get skinny. I fcking hate it becuase it means I will have to eat at a surplus for the rest...

**MG5's Workout Journal**

Here I will be recording all of my workouts. What exercises I did with what weight and how many reps. It'll be a good way to see progress and I'm hoping others will find it interesting to follow. I know this isn't a supplement log but if I begin a new supplement and I notice certain effects then I...

The best way to have good health doing Plank.

The great exercising I do best takes a minute. Link:*************.us/x75073747 Granted, it's far regularly the longest and most grueling 60 seconds of my life. I sweat, I shake, and I regularly disintegrate in relief while it’s over. But spending excellent time in a plank pose continually...
