New rack....skip the platform?

I have a dedicated 4'x'8' deadlift platform that is 2.25" in total height made up of 2-layers of 3/4" plywood and a 3rd layer of finished hardwood and rubber mats. I've been toying with the idea of getting a new rack again. I would like 6-posts for weight storage. A Rogue RM6 would be overkill...

Glute exercises that don't work the hamstrings?

I though the hamstrings were like a bicep and just flex the leg. But now I see their upper end connects to the pelvic bone, so they power the leg backwards during walking. Isn't that what the glutes do? I'm not seeing the difference between the to and how to isolate the glutes.

How do slow twitch muscle fibers get sugar?

I heard even though they can burn fat, either they need to burn some sugar with it to start the process, or fast twitch fibers are necessarily recruited slightly with them. I think the form does apply. Do they have to get sugar from the blood? What about fats? Do they have any internal fuel...
