    I think it just depends on the body, the diet, and the exercise. I can lose as much as 3 lbs in a week with out losing any strength. I just make sure I get lots of protein.

    If your in a deficit, you would be losing, not gaining. To bulk up you need to be at a surplus. If you are truly burning more than you eat, then where is the fuel coming from to build or gain weight?
