No the home tests are just pass/fail wont differentiate strains.
Yeah my wife had the runny nose for 2-3 days then 100.2 temp (just under "fever") then the cough was last for a couple days. The CDC might be changing their mask guidelines and informing us that we have been doing it wrong for the last two years on masks and we really need to be wearing filtering facepiece respirators (N-95, KN95 etc). The virus has not changed in size, grown wings or little legs to evade a cloth mask or is in any way better than the previous strains at getting through porous surfaces...We have wasted the last two years of curve flattening. Time to start over, just two more years lol.
If it gets worse I'll have to start wearing my paint respirator or P100 sanding respirator to work.
2 more weeks to flatten the curve. SMH
Europe’s drug regulator warns excessive COVID boosters could lead to ‘problems with immune response,’ joining WHO in pushback
TL;DR - Booster shots are mostly unnecessary and may actually affect your immune system in the long run.

Not sure about your TLDR as they are clearly talking 4th and beyond. But ya that makes sense and I think we all started to see this as a yearly "flu shot" kinda thing coming. As the article mentioned they are working in a combined flu/covid yearly shot which is great for those who want it.
On Tuesday, EMA vaccine strategy chief Marco Cavaleri said there was still no data supporting the need for a fourth COVID vaccine dose. And even if multiple boosters do prove to be necessary, they would need to be spaced out in the style of annual flu jabs, rather than delivered every several months. He also warned that overly frequent booster doses could potentially lead to "problems with immune response."
"While use of additional boosters can be part of contingency plans, repeated vaccinations within short intervals would not represent a sustainable long-term strategy," Cavaleri said at a media briefing. He also said boosters "can be done once, or maybe twice, but it’s not something that we can think should be repeated constantly."
This is key from that article
"The WHO also repeated its frequently expressed warning that giving primary vaccinations to those in poorer countries was a higher priority"
I think its very bad ethics to have 4th or 5th shots for the overwhelming healthy majority here, while untold millions elsewhere have not even had their first...they dont have any money so I suppose they are not as important as us.

Looks like UK is a few weeks ahead on the curve than the US. Maybe the UK can be used as a barometer to guess what might happen your side of the Atlantic?
Already we are starting to see political reluctance to continue to fund/subsidise lateral flow tests and PCR tests for asymptomatic (unless there is some special need), a shortening of isolation periods, community pilot (Wales for anyone > 50, Molnupiravir) of retroviral pills on positive result.
We are starting to move into the "just live with it" phase

PCR test received last night and confirmed Positive. Though, the document says the test was performed with a RT-PCR amplification test. Didn't the CDC remove it's EUA for this test due to it's inability to differentiate between Influenza and Covid? https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2021/07-21-2021-lab-alert-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html
Ah, just re-reading the "disclaimer" : "This SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR
test does not detect or differentiate any other respiratory virus types. Results from this test should be interpreted in
conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings."
Nonetheless, symptoms are the same, but improving. Nose is no longer runny, but a little stuffy and still have a little mucus in throat. Still feel like this is the common cold that I get every winter.

My initial reasoning for not getting vaccinated was for the older population and those at risk to be able to get it. Then I questioned why they weren't prioritized in poorer countries (no money to be made). Then my employer that performs medical studies was pushing it on everyone regardless of status or overall knowledge. Then I realized they get a lot of federal funding due to medicare and would lose it if they didn't comply with white house and CDC directives and realized it's all about money and more govt control. Come to find out they don't actually work, have risk and possibly reduce immunity. Just lol; not getting one. Had no idea the strings the govt had on just about every entity until now.

It's actually the other way around. Big money controls government. Industry lobbyist and special interest groups write the legislation and make the rules that the worthless politicians sign off on to ensure they get campaign contributions and "perks". There is a revolving door of high ranking government employees that bounce back and fourth between gov and private sector bending the government to their will for financial windfalls. Pfizer CEO was the head of the FDA, same thing happens across all agencies...It's all smoke and mirrors for money and power.
How you feeling today Jay?
Was really winded lifting this morning which is never a problem for me. No other symptoms but thinking about burning a at home test.
Did anything come of this? Hope all is well your way...
Damn a lot of you fukkers got the dose in here. All the best to everyone.

Still a bit short of breath when lifting or walking dogs. Nothing major, no other symptoms. So I haven't tested. Thanks for asking Me Pocket, my good friend.

I think both govt and elitists are both at fault. If govt or people were ethically sound then we wouldn't be in this situation, but that's a lot to ask. I think power, control, and greed are just part of the human condition. Govt just seems to big for us to regulate or the common man to pay attention to it all. The avg person has no idea how it all works. And those of us that do can't do anything about it and only know a fraction of the shenanigans. We're now just seeing a glimpse into the FBI's involvement of Jan. 6th. It's been a year of people claiming that's a conspiracy theory and it's becoming clear that it was instigated by the FBI themselves.

I watched the EMA conference with Macro Cavaleri and observed a immunology discussion with people afterward. The vaccine doesn't "weaken" the immune system. But it can be really exciting to see a headline that matches your narrative, I'm sure.
The boosters that Cavaleri is talking about is the vaccine we have right now, which is intended for the wild type variant (original variant). We're in an omicron variant dominant period now. There are omicron specific (and polyvalent) vaccines on the way that are more appropriate for this environment. Cavaleri recommends a booster, maybe two, while the omicron vaccine is expected to be available around summer in Europe. The guy said 4th vaccines are good for people that are immunocompromised to get now.
The vaccines don't weaken your immune system. The concern over a "problems with immune response" has to do with overspecialization of immune response, basically repeatedly giving a vaccine for the original variant "over a short period" could eventually impede immune response to other variants. There is no data to support this but it is a real concern. It's why they're not saying more vaccinations the better. The EMA wants to move on to a more appropriate vaccine.
Based on what he said don't get your 5th or 6th doses of this vaccine, spread the news. I heard a couple of you sick fukkers were gonna try to go for 6.

A guy just posted this and i felt it was worthy of a repost here when discussing heart issues and the vaxx.
"Just don't do any physical exercise for the next 10 years and you shouldn't have a heart attack, or you might anyway the data isn't clear yet." :)
-
I think the majority of people that got the booster are in a “no more shots” state of mind. Guessing they’ll release pills now to keep the cash flow moving.

Monday, Jan 3 - Fever 101, slight congestion, coughing
Tuesday, Jan 4 - Fever 101, slight congestion, coughing
Wednesday, Jan 5 - Decided to take a test. Rite Aid, CVS, hospital booked for weeks. So i decided to go to gubmint-run drive through test site and waited 6 hours.
Thursday, Jan 6 - Started to feel better.
Fast forward to yesterday, when I got my test. POSITIVE. That's gubmint efficiency for you. "You will have result in 3 days" my goat ballz.
I'm back to work now. I feel 'normal'. Just normal, as I will never be 'normal normal'.
This is my second rona since the shutdown.
Doesn't matter what camp you're in. Take good care of yourselves. Instead of letting fear cripple you, live your lives.
We will all get it, sooner or later. And if we're healthy, we will be just fine.
And I choose to remain unjabbed.

As of this year, and it's only January, one person we know has passed from it. He was a member of our church. He was 57.
