But stimmy checks are socialist behavior, the governors complained about Trump and Trump put the problem in thier hands, that’s when we learned how Many governors were true communists as they chose not to allow benefits to certain business owners, Larry Hogan was one he’s a republican there 7seconds.
Back in the 90s when things were good I still worked a hard physical job, it’s wasnt a gravy life, when Obama came in my boss took advantage of a program where our hours got cut but we still got our 40 hour work week, it sucks, I mean it really sucks to live like that, so I used that time I was off and enrolled in college, figured I’d use that time wisely because eventually everyone got laid off when the program ended and things didn’t get better for the company.

No, taxation and redistribution is socialism, Obama wanted that and so does Biden (pay your fair share, if you earn over 400k), they want to redistribute wealth to control production on the behalf and welfare of the people, that is the ultimate goal.

You miss the point of socialism. The point isn’t to take the capitalist’s wealth and spread it out, the point is to abolish private ownership of the means of production and convert it into public ownership. Socialism is not when you merely tax the rich to redistribute the wealth.
The United States is nominally capitalist, but it's also not purely capitalist, and it's not because of taxes and safety nets; it's because of all of the government interference, cronyism, and rent seeking enabled by the government. The nice way of saying it is we have a "mixed economy" and a "social safety net."
Now, I'm not necessarily defending any of these social safety measures. They still depend on non-voluntary contributions to make them happen. But, no they are not socialism.

I am not completely opposed to safety nets. The purist libertarian position is that charity would take care of these people. I think that's probably a lie we tell ourselves. Charity currently isn't able to take care of these individuals, so I am not sure there is a reason to expect that charity would be able to take care of them if we eliminated welfare.
What i am opposed to is fraud in welfare and i'm also opposed to welfare programs that don't do what they're aimed to do. It would be nice to see a push toward evidence based legislation where legislation and programs are evaluated emperically to determine if they've met their stated goals, and most importantly those that don't meet their stated goals should be modified or eliminated.

When people talk like that it sounds more like they are talking about ideas instead of looking at history and current situation what has worked in throughout history and what is working now. Of course we want everything to get better but is it realistic to expect there's no fraud or anything corrupt? Everyone could say what a perfect society is but does it work IRL not sure.

The thing is, abolishing private ownership of some arbitrary subset they call "means of production" and taking it over by a government (using that word as any sort of public ownership), is very similar to hiring the government to take "some" of the means of production and distributing that. No, it's not pure socialism, but it is socialist in the sense of trying to put socialist ideas on top of a corporatist system.

When my wife was a young Mom in our new (100 year old) home 20 years ago we tried to make it on just my income, when the heat bills overwhelmed us she applied for and got WIC. It was ridiculous, had a coupon for exactly 1lb of cheese etc. Martha at the grocery store made her cry and that was the last time she ever tried that, I signed up for yet more overtime and yet more time not seeing my baby. Martha still works there but I'm looking forward to relieving myself on her grave from time to time when she passes.

For the first time in 15 months I went out to eat this past weekend. I strolled through Home Depot without a mask to pick out new flooring for my family room. I've been part of two small family gathering with no mask the past two weekends.
Vaccinated life is so good and I am excited that normalcy is returning. However I am already starting to feel the pressure coming of doing the things I was happy to get out of because of Covid, lol.

Agreed. It's nice how fast the vaccine is helping the numbers go down and getting things closer to normal. I wish other countries were doing as well. We had barbeque/swim get togethers at our house the past 2 weekends. 12 people and 14 people including us. One 16y/o there had gotten his second shot the day before the gathering and he offered to wear a mask. A 2 y/o at the second one obviously wasn't vaccinated, but everyone else was and that 16 year old was probably fully protected after his first shot so there was no reason for him to wear a mask. I've been to several restaurants over the past 2 weeks as well and while we put on masks to walk past the other tables and if we paid up front, we didn't worry about masks at all while ordering or eating.
At this point, I wear a mask when I am shopping or walking through inside areas where others pass close by. That's out of courtesy and I think the practice might stick around for a while, much like mask wearing in several Asian countries. I always find it annoying when old, long time smokers down here in the south walk right next to you or your table with their chronic cough and not even bend their elbow over their mouth to avoid coughing on you. I know it's hard to cover your mouth when you are basically always coughing, and we still have a pretty big COPD/chronic cough population down here in tobacco country, but I still appreciate it when people wear masks to be polite or if they have a cough.
Courtesy masking doesn't feel abnormal after a year of a pandemic and it's really nice to finally be able to go out for food/movies/activities, and to have indoor gatherings again without wondering who might be contagious or feeling guilty about it.

The wearing the mask out of courtesy is something I am thinking of often, that trip into Home Depot without a mask was the first time I went in a store without one and I knew I could keep distance from others in that store at that hour. Don't know where I will fall on this moving forward and I think a lot depends on how things transpire. My observation though, and I know judging on looks is wrong but based upon looks and statistics I am going to say a good portion of those in Home Depot without a mask aren't vaccinated. There is something to be said for establishments still doing the no mask no entry thing as I am sure it feels much safer for many.

There have been very very few serious cases in children so it’s really a nonissue. In terms of them being vectors, if people are concerned they can get vaccinated and be protected right?

I agree. MIS-C is rare, so kids are primarily vectors.
