Unfortunately that study covers up to July, which according to the graph is where the delta surpasses the alpha in confirmed cases. This could create the illusion of higher protection factors for the duration of the sample collection. If a vaccinated person is infected and shedding virus, it doesn't really matter that they were part of the 58% of people not protected by the vaccine (using the Pfizer stats in this example). They can still replicate and transmit virus.

I saw you had posted the same study just after posting mine.
In the results and supporting figs, they stratify effectiveness over time. Even when Delta began increasing in frequency and became the predominant variant, vaccine effectiveness against infection remained significant. These results are also consistent with the second study I posted.
To your second point I agree. There is no question that vaccinated people can still spread the virus. But I believe the data support the claim that they are less likely to do so relative the unvaccinated.

Sure does help me lift the poundages I do more frequently, if you or anyone touches my back it feels like steel. I once got a massage and the girl said she could feel every muscle development like a bodybuilder but I didn’t look like one.

I prefer to look good naked rather than looking at a spare tire in the mirror, I also prefer the health benefits of a lower body fat %, I don't think any amount of double cheeseburgers or lifting a couple of extra pounds can trump that..Lean people who are very active generally have better cardio as well, move faster and longer another great benefit.
You don't need to be fat to lift heavy, there are folks here the same age as you some even older that lift more than you and the fact is if some of them swallowed a grape you would probably see it, they are pretty lean.
I have been both fat and lean, mostly lean. Being lean and lifting good poundage is a lot more difficult than being fat and doing it. IMO fat is the easy/lazy way..

I take it as a high, I don’t care if someone beats me, lastnight when I did my 350 x 11 I was on cloud 10 all night long, and even today. There’s more to come............ your gonna see more and more prs.
I’ve been as low as 160 and lifting was horrible, but I’m sure my form is better these days.
I just a 21 year old skinny 180 with washboard abs dead 475 like lightning, he’s also much taller like 6’1 he’s naturally got better leverage and a good coach who showed him form early.
I’m my mind I’m 21 and just starting now!!!
I bet he can out eat me too.

If I told you once I told you 100 times, I learned in grade school I don't have to prove anything to anyone. I do High rep deads and rack pulls on the regular.. I am running a PPL alternating one high rep session followed by, low rep heavier at the next session. I just don't train once a week for a couple minutes you know. That would make me fat, especially if I didn't hike, run, cycle and double fisted double cheeseburgers. :D

No one has time for nuanced rational conversations these days but let me try anyways.
Any sort of public policy has to benefit the potential good (reduced transmission) with the potential harm (reduced freedom, impaired breathing, social interaction consequences of a covered face, etc.) Additionally you need to consider both current and future compliance with any mandates as telling people to do things they're not going to comply with actually lowers your ability to get them to do things in the future. If the risk is high, the harms are low and most people are going to comply then it make sense. If the risk and harms are balanced and compliance is going to be low then it's actually probably not a good idea. Human lives don't have infinite value, for example we don't ban cars just because 60k people a year die in traffic accidents, especially as there is a notion that individuals are allowed to take risks if they choose as long as it doesn't have excessive impact on everyone else.
Risk of death & permanent injury for people who are vaccinated is pretty low, ditto for children. At this point anyone who wanted to be vaccinated has had plenty of opportunity to do so and the rest have made their choices and can take their chances. I'd say broad mask mandates are likely unwarranted, but I think the case can be made is some narrow cases where the risk is especially high. It's time to accept that COVID is going to be with us from now on and things will never completely go back to the way they were before, that doesn't mean every year should look like 2020 in terms of restrictions and mitigation measures.

In my gym we are masking once again. Funny thing they didn't change the pool regulations and now the hot tub is filled with hairy fatties neck to neck..and there was some lady wearing a mask..in the tub..lol. But then when I run in a treadmill, they come remind me I have to put the mask on..sweat dripping on my face..the life we are living.

I train 1-2sets on the Deads mid week, that’s all I have time for so I make it count, last night I progressed 10# plus got in another rep, there’s zero point in doing a drop set, the goal is increase, not decrease.
As for JT, I’m not wasting my time, I don’t know where he got that idea, I don’t follow drug users on FB? And the so called experts have been full of BS, so his comment means nothing to me.
Besides he hates lifting, my crew are all passionate about lifting and do it for life.

You really don’t know so much, there was a time I trained only twice a month doing 50 rep squats and deads that was like an hour of training a month, I weighed 160#.
What you don’t seem to understand is I have experimented and know what to do IF I need to do it, when the time comes, I’m ready.
I find the delay group amusing, seems you missed that too, the lifters I associate with are drug free lifetime lifters and old time strongman, they aren’t into that stupid soap opera defray BS. Those guys don’t even squat to parallel.

The cdc has managed to screw up a lot on this. Changes due to administration aside, they can’t keep themselves from saying stupid $hit. Just a couple weeks ago it was there will be no need for boosters, right after well done studies from Israel demonstrated reduced efficacy over time. Now they are walking that back because it’s plainly obvious elderly and immunocompromised will likely need boosters.
