If you’re not being forced due to your work, why would younger people willingly get vaccinated anytime soon. Even if offered it, I would hold out for as long as possible (don’t care if I won’t be able to travel) and hope a vaccine passport doesn’t become a requirement for most essential activities. Germany and other EU countries wanted vaccine passports by Summer and apparently, if the results of a certain poll can be trusted, lots of people are in support of it in Germany, Italy and the UK for travel. I’m not German but know someone who is over there. Earlier this year, they said you already needed to show some kind of pass to enter large stores where they live. COVID can cause long lasting debilitating symptoms for some people but I’m very wary about the short and long term effects from these vaccines currently being offered. There have been some serious side effects and deaths.
I understand your point. Here is an example of where this vaccine stuff is going..
Rutgers University is requiring students attending classes in person this fall to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
It is among the first U.S. universities to make such a mandate as schools begin preparing for a return to campus life after a year of remote or hybrid learning due to the pandemic.
"In support of Rutgers' commitment to health and safety for all members of its community, the University will be updating its Immunization Requirements for Students to include the COVID-19 vaccine," Rutgers' leadership wrote in a message to the university community on Thursday.

2nd Pfizer shot coming up this Thursday.

I have seen quite a bit of online discussion about universities requiring the vaccine this fall. I wonder what the overlap is between people who are suddenly skeptical about what they will put in their bodies and people who would take drugs from some stranger behind the porta potty at a music festival.

We just got our first shot yesterday.

I hear that some experienced 'tiredness' and/or periodic 'headaches' post the send stabbing.
Doesn't concern me.
Other than having a sore regional area I couldn't really feel the needle.
Must be a tiny needle...unlike the javelin sized ones used when I was giving plasma twice a week back in 1970....during the early Holocene Epoch.
Have a great weekend....
If it's Moderna I wouldn't plan on anything for a couple days after. You could be just fine or end up like me shivering under 5 blankets for 35 hours.

Another reason for getting vaccine is that covid long haulers deal with unexpected medical bills even with insurance so it's not just even tryna save my lungs but financial decision too.

More healthy people are getting vaxed than vulnerable, that in itself is stupid behavior when dealing with experimental phases.
I know people who powerlift and do strongman that weight near 300# get covid, they said it was nothing to be scared of, for them.
It may be different for someone with asthma though. It's stupid to say what's happening now, is smart.

You bitch about the problem and then you bitch about the solution....
Maybe it's time you re-examine what's stupid and what's not :)

Holy shvt B....
Not that it would be diagnosed easily but did you get any G2 as to why your system reacted that adversely?
Hell...I don't know which vaccine by name that we received but it seems one must gird thy loins to expect the unexpected for the second stabbing.
Good thing we're both retired....if we get that ill who's going to make my Crown Royal high balls if I'm prostrate!....I must plan ahead.
Thanks for the heads up....glad you got through it as miserable as I perceived it to be for you.
Back to it....

I don't give two chits about covid, so wtf you talking about? I never did? I've called it a political BS stunt since day one, the problem was forced lock down by political authoritarians which I refuse to cater to.
Wat, you mad cause now you gotta fly and go to office for corporate now? I don't :)
..........but you got lucky, you didn't get a bad batch, but thats what can happen when they rush this.
AS for college, who wants to go there, online is better. And who wants to waste time in 9 to 5 traffic, that's three hours a day of time wasted for most people:)

College is not essential for this.
In fact the best way to learn anything is hitting the floor are running.

I would disagree. Going to school is more than getting an education, it's about learning how to socialize with other people who aren’t necessarily of your choosing. Colleges have dorms which enforce a constant mix of people outside of school. Walking on campus, talking to people at meals, socializing between classes, people you do group projects with, probably lots more I can't think of. These encourage a passive, random socialization that many times wouldn't happen on it's own. Clubs and acitivies (which already happen) do not replace these things. Activities like this are different because they're you choosing the kind of person you want to be around.
Online only would remove an enormous chunk of one of the main benefits of college.

There are so many people who don't experience the above, especially if you don't have money.
Typically it's work a job and going to a community college. I drove to a brick and mortar campus everyday after work for 2 years, took the last two years online. If I had to go back to a campus I'd be miserable.

Sounds like the crooked political people, socializing makes people part of the cool club, people do fuked up stuff because of that type of pressure.
I know a guy my whole life, he's "the man" always grabs the mic at events, makes everyone laugh, went to a college that most governors go to. He was a big shot in the bank business, well he thought the money was there for him to borrow as he needed, where did this smart guy learn that? And of course he never spent any time in jail, just a halfway house and chit he's doing accountant work. His wife did divorce him though, only cause, well he got caught, she's a hot shot college gal too.
Ain't life grand!!!

The only experience I mentioned that you might not get in CC is living in the dorm. And I didn’t have the money either and was still able to manage it. To be fair though college was a whole lot cheaper 30 years ago.

My wife went to a community college before transferring into a four year program. She made some really great friends and tried a lot of new things at CC. She performed in a play for the first time and is still friends with the majority of the cast now some twenty-five years later. Those things probably don’t happen in an online environment.

This thread seems to be all over the place. At any rate my Son got to college this Fall and did an online Tinder profile thing where he was looking for a GF and not into dating around. 1st girl he "matched" has been his GF for a couple months. We got to meet her, really cute, talkative, easy to be around. I doubt he would have met her in a non quarantine environment oddly enough.

That's great, but not everyone wants to do that. Hey I've managed fine not catching covid doing chit "my way".
btw, I know you can have great relations in college, but all I said was it isn't essential.
In online college you have to manage projects with people remotely, so I've seen both worlds. You also get real good at working with remote meetings, beats flying and traveling.

Part of growing up is getting fuked up, when you take chit that makes you feel great and high the headaches are the aftermath, but hell at least you got smashed. Why in the hell would a young buck want to take something that does "nothing" in the "fuked up" category and on top of that makes you sick so you can barely go out and "get hammered".
You are just thinking like an old fart:)
