NY threw out a lot of vaccines because they went bad, the healthcare workers didn’t want to take them, so they got wasted. The older folks should’ve gotten opportunity first.

I heard that in Israel what they do is in any given day they vaccinate the categories according to the schedule then, at the end of the day, if there's any vaccine left, they give it to anyone who shows up. You'd think that's not so hard to do figure out but apparently it is.
Here in California they passed a race based vaccination schedule

I'll definitely hold out as long as I can. Local medical center is saying positive things, but I'll put it off as long as I can. Travel vaccinations might be the next big thing and I don't see myself stopping travel. So hopefully research and information will come out and I'll decide then. Hopefully information is transparent and it's not suppressed and forgotten about.

I hope 99% of Americans get the vaccine. I'll be in the 1% that don't.

I'm not really scared of the vaccination nor covid, however considering how contagious the virus is, somewhere along the way I assume I will get the virus if I never get vaccinated.

Maybe I have mild or nor symptoms but again probably somewhere in the future, I'd have complications. Those are the reasons I think I might take the vaccine.

Even if I never got the regular flu or flu shot, this is not the same thing because it spreads so much easier, and if everything is opened up again, then of course I will get the virus at some point. Or are we still pretending it magically just disappears?

A requirement for traveling is the only thing that will "force" me to get the shot as there is no damn way i'm giving up traveling. Do that & I may as well eat a bullet since it's the one thing I do that gives me joy.

Got the prompt to get my vaccine from my employer. I declined. For now.

Looks like I'd benefit from it, turns out (tested today) I don't test positive for associated antibodies (IgM IgG) so don't have the benefit of previous exposure (despite being surrounded by anyone and everyone round here who seems to have had it recently). I'm quite far down the list of priorities, so no idea when/if I'd be offered a vaccine.

If I was physically near my old university where I still do some online work and am still officially on the faculty, I could have gotten vaccinated this past weekend at a special clinic they did for faculty. That state they'd gotten to the 'teacher' level of the priority list. I'm down the list a ways in the state where I am now.

My daughter, sister, and niece all got the vaccination because they're in health care.

I was with my dad and held his hand as he died from Covid19 a month ago, but I've tested negative since. I'll probably get it when it's my turn.

I also asked a few older relatives their opinion on getting it and they agree that a wait and see approach may be the best course of action at this point.

I didn't know that he got the vaccine on Jan 5, thanks for sharing. So the timeline of death would have been shortly after the 2nd shot.

So what I've learned - deaths shortly after receiving the vaccine is not considered related, but deaths not directly caused by covid are reported as a covid death.

BUT, as with all drugs being injected to people there will be problems. So far, the data are showing 90% of people vaccinated have at least some immunity (10% do not); overall, I'd say its likely that far more people will die from COVID if unvaccinated, than those from the rare adverse reactions.

Still, I understand an individual being nervous and deciding to wait. Also, quite a few folks are at risk - my wife had very severe responses to several vaccinations and now docs recommend she not get any related to flu or COVID.

I got the first shot last week. Didn't feel a thing. Not really looking forward to the second shot but I also can't wait to get it over with lol. I hear you're more likely to get side effects from the booster.

I received my second shot this week. Definitely felt tired and sore for about 36 hours after. I felt fine after the first one. Working in health care and being around it all the time gave me an appreciation for what it (covid) CAN do. Nothing will have you losing your gains faster than being intubated, on a ventilator, and being feed through an IV. Hard pass on that.

I've learned from the mouths of a medical center that they still aren't sure whether the vaccination actually halts you from spreading it. They don't know a lot of things when the public is asking questions, but what they do know is that the vaccination is safe....so I'm still unsure if I'll get it. I was mocking the fact that they claim it's safe. There's a reason why they don't recommend the vaccination for those who are pregnant or expecting to be. And they can't verify whether these vaccines will safeguard against mutations. Basically, in my eyes, I think the vaccinations might be a waste of time all together.

The only way I am going to get vaccinated is if my company mandates it in order to go back to work, but if they do, then I want something in writing along the lines if something was to happen to me that my family be taken care of financially. Until then I am not getting vaccinated, again 56 years old never got a flu shot never got the flu..
