This virus kills.
That is the first words I utter from my mouth each and every day. I wake up, splash water onto my face and stare directly into my dingy mirror in my bathroom. I look myself directly in the eye and I begin my mantra. "This virus kills", I say. Silence. I then repeat it again, this time louder, "This virus kills!". I begin to shake and tremble. I say it again, louder, "This virus KILLS!". Over and over and over again. I stare unblinking and look myself dead in the eye, by this time I am overcome with fear as I scream at the top of my lungs, "THIS VIRUS KILLS! THIS VIRUS KILLS! THIS VIRUS KILLS!". By the end I am spent, completely drained of all energy both emotionally and physically, I collapse on the floor, openly weeping and retreat into a fetal position as I pass out.
Hours pass, I awake again, it is usually past Noon. I wipe myself with my towel to clean off accumulated sweat, tears and other bodily fluids. I don my masks and then begin my daily routine of hot pockets and watching Netflix but only after I check my calendar and see when I am scheduled to receive my next booster. On that day, I will need to bathe. This is the only time I leave my house. I leave my blinds closed and drawn. I want no infection from the outside world. I live alone with my three cats. They have not been vaccinated. Not yet. I can not keep masks on them, I am growing more and more impatient.
I hear a voice, inside my head. It keeps saying, "two more weeks". Two more weeks, just two more... two more and then I will finally have my life back. Two more weeks...
This was funny!

Talking about side effects from the Vaccine.
The first doses back in May and July I felt a little dopy and listless for a day or so, the booster on Dec 26....which was a smaller dose of the same Pfizer, I felt nothing at all...maybe tired that day. I also had the regular seasonal flu shot in early November, no reaction that I noticed.
Does that mean my immune system is screwed or very strong?

I still have dizziness from the booster shot 4.5 weeks later.
You better believe that I'm pissed. And of course you can't sue big pharma for any injuries from the vaccines. Who designed this system?
I then posted my story on ********/Meta and they censored me. I'm a peon?! It's not like I'm President Trump!

Our local cbs channel does fact check segments daily due to misinformation and they just did a segment on suing big pharma with 2 law professors.
Yes you can sue them if certain criteria are met.

https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-694475
Some of us have been saying that from the start. Vaccinate or isolate the elderly and people at risk, the rest of us - live our lives. Get it, achieve herd immunity, move on with our lives.
Catching it for almost everyone who gets it - it's not the end of the world. Some people have a rough time, most do not.

I would never pretend to be an expert from the start on something new, that I know nothing about from a lab in China, but that is just me......
We are as good as our information and rational decision making.

So you only hold convictions about things on which you are an expert?

Fair enough. It just seemed arbitrarily dismissive especially when it was a very rational decision from the start based on what we already knew about coronaviruses.

That's roughly speaking the original public health position that we had in the UK Q1 2020, but it was politically unacceptable and at that point vaccination was unavailable, so they stopped saying it for a while and came back to that public-opinion recently.
The political problem is when you say the majority of people are OK, say for sh!ts and giggles during 2020 that's 95% or whatever of people catching it, you still have 1/20 people getting scr3wed over especially if they are elderly or vulnerable.
Any public policy that pivots on accepting the most vulnerable members of society are getting scr3wed isn't seen as some kind of moral gold-standard. The most successful political approach has been "look busy" whether or not it's fair or helpful activity they were busy doing.
What a big steaming turd COVID has been for everyone (except the very few individuals and corporations who have richly capitalised on this).

I work for a CPA firm and it's been sickening to see how much money the Gov has tossed around carelessly to people/businesses who didn't even need it.
This is not conjecture: We have witnessed over a dozen of our clients who have become millionaires from the handouts. Literally has made me nauseous.

Even worse, it made a lot of people not want to work.

Well here in DC it is all about contracts contracts and more contracts, even if you don't produce much.
Who you know, not what you do.

Flying to Florida tomorrow. Going to see a lot of people and go to Disney World with my wife's family, so got a booster yesterday.
Easy enough and I figure there's less chance of me getting sick down there and having to pay for a hotel room and flight changes to stay longer. Probably should have gotten it last week, but I was too lazy.

So you are not getting any of the sought after side effects, and it gives you zero protection from Omicron? :p
Seriously though, there was a week when 90% of our cases were vaccinated and boosted. Our numbers are absolutely nose diving now, hospitalizations getting cleared out at 60/day new cases and positivity rate dropping precipitously. These retards here (politicians mostly and their political medical science experts with years of science school) are still touting the vaccines and masks lol….I mean they weren’t working for a couple months, but they must be working again now since post-infection immunity surely isn’t real…:D

Zero?
I've probably got a good 3 months protection against a symptomatic case of the little o, maybe more, and lifetime against delta and wt, which are still more virulent. Probably against any of the unidentified close variants of those 2 old timers as well. ;)
