I admire him a great deal. It can't be my place to judge what a Finnish person did in 1940 to ensure that Finland stayed Finland. As a matter of fact, I admire the entire country a great deal. Simo Häyhä is another hero of mine. In the US Army, in my community anyway, these guys are regarded as semi-deities. They are held in the same regard as guys like Francis Marion, Roy Benavidez, Otto Skorzeny, William Darby, Mad Jack Churchill or General Wainwright.
edit - I correct myself. No one is regarded as the equal to MSG Benavidez.

Finnish rally drivers are gods in my eyes. They invented the Scandinavian Flick. And their F1 drivers are no slouches either. When you look back at Group B rallying in the 1980s the Finns were awesome (not that they're not now).

Did you ever ask them to take you for a ride (in their cars :) )??
I once met Jacques Villeneuve at a track in Ontario Canada where I was with my car. I asked him to take me for a couple of laps in my car with him driving it. He took several seconds off my best time the first time in my car and the first time at that track for him. The skill and car control these guys have is incredible.

No I didn't really know them cos they were a few years older and I moved there when I was 12, and they were probably already almost left home by that time. My friend dated Mika Salo a bit but she was a hottie.

Very cool! I once got the opportunity to stand by the side of the track taking pictures of an F1 race at the circuit named after his dad in Montreal.
and F1 is back and better than ever, IMHO. I just signed up for streaming on F1TV and had incredible access to all the action of the race in Bahrain this past weekend. You can watch action from any car and listen to the radio comms between driver and team. Since being bought by a subsidiary of Disney, they are really upping the exposure with killer online access and the top notch Netflix series - "Drive to Survive".
That makes no sense at all. Even if it was true, it wouldn't make sense.
You don't recall the German-issued kennkarten the Nazi party made mandatory for everyone to carry? Guess you need to brush up on your WWII history.

Most of the OIF/OEF vets I know are against it, especially due to the mandatory anthrax shots we had to get. And if they lost your medical records? You could expect all 6 once again. And now that the VA is exploring the possibility of the anthrax vaccination being related to Gulf Way syndrome, that's just another reason to wait.

Super interesting guy. He is completely independent and his license is good until he's 104. He builds WWII model airplanes out of popsicle sticks and still does his "Army exercises" every day. Taught me how to field strip his M1 Garand, we never got to go shooting together yet though.
Trying to picture this in my head. So the Nazis are in control of a village in France or Poland or some place and some are demanding papers from local people, for political reason whatever that means, and the US Army is standing across the street with their guns and they shoot the bad Nazis who are demanding papers but let the others go and then the good Nazis and the US Army break for lunch and sit down in a cafe together. Do I have that right?
Refer to my previous post about. Part of the reason for the existence of the Kennkarten was to identify and control those found unclean by the Third Reich. A German soldier could demand the papers of anyone traveling through a German-controlled territory. If you failed to present them or there were any inconsistencies, you were arrested.

MSG Roy Benavidez is the baddest mofo in the history of the US Military and particularly the SpecOps community.
I love his quote (paraphrased):
"There are two kinds of warriors - Those who serve tyrants and those who serve free men." (But I think women and babies and maybe goats are also included in that statement.)
I refuse to serve tyrants. That's why I always talk goat$hit about our gubmint. Cuz it's full of commie bastards who sold America to the lowest bidder. It is my wish that a 3-foot, 4-inch diameter cactus full of thorns painfully grow out of these commies' sphincters. Carry on.

Yes. I am aware that the Germans made people carry ID cards. Everyone is aware of that. Now, explain how the American soldiers in Germany were able to determine which Germans were asking folks for their ID cards? Or were the Germans in France asking American GI's for their ID's during combat?

Actually a very good friend of mine, a retired USMC LTC, Norwich Grad 94, received anthrax vaxx in the late 90s. He has health issues related to the vaxx.
Not only has the US Military become a social experiment lab for criminal politicians who never served, our members have also become lab rats.
Do you think it's a coincidence that 22 vets kill themselves a day? PTSD is real. But what are the possibilities that the vaxxes we all received fighting for oil screwed us all in the head?
Just food for thought. I know a few vets who are sick physically due to vaxxes. You're a smart guy. I'm sure you are aware that the US gubmint experimented on Blacks back then.

Gulf War syndrome also applies to OIF/OEF veterans. As an OIF veteran who has had the anthrax series twice and is currently going through the VA to obtain a disability claim for symptoms covered under Gulf War syndrome, I'd recommend doing your research before inserting your two IQ points.

No, I have no idea what he means. As eomrat says, the ID cards we all know about, it's the shooting Nazis for making people carry the cards that we are confused about. As for "nazis in general", are y'all saying that World War II was fought because of the ID cards? Seems like there were other things Nazis did that might have had an impact. Like invading Pearl Harbor as Senator Blutarsky would say. Nazis are bad, freedom is good, we all agree. But that specific thing made no sense.
-
Oh, and did you even read your own link?
"The first large-scale use of the vaccine to give preexposure protection was in 1991 for US military personnel deployed during the Persian Gulf War."
So your own link proves you are wrong. In fact, about 150,000 troops going to the Persian Gulf received it.

The fact that we actually having to go thru this in 2020-21 proves the stupidity of the current human race.
And that many who aren’t vaxed does not mean they are anti vax shows your stupidity.
This is not the plague where everyone is guaranteed a death sentence and it’s not “lock jaw”.
I actually feel I’ve been a Team Player in this because I had access to vax very early but because I work remote and I’m not in the elderly category passed on it, my intelligence knows that once the vulnerable are vaxed this political panic should be over with.
PS I watched Pres Biden touch is mask about a half dozen times to speak one sentence.
No masks = I don’t touch my mouth/drewl then go touch something someone else touches. It pays to be smart!

2nd Moderna dose today. Young cop at the door "welcoming" everyone, was a little intimidating. Vaccinator said "no problem finding a muscle here!" I was too nervous to take it as a compliment or whatever. She did it in the shoulder, I feel like last time it was more like my tricep. I hit the gym an hour later for leg day but did shoulders instead, 15 sets got the blood pumping through them pretty good. Got home and cracked a beer, got dizzy and almost fell down, had a good dinner and now just some injection site pain.
Guess I'm good until the Fall.
In retrospect I wouldn't have done this if my Wife didn't insist on it.
