I try and not have any problems with police.
Therefore I dont do stupid sh!t that would warrant the police being called on me.
ie. committing forgery, public intoxication, etc.
It's really that simple. Obviously what the officers did was wrong, but had the guy not been committing a crime the officers never would have been involved in the first place.
The more you know.gif
Like I said, their department allows this type of control on a subject. The question is, why was this type of force needed. Did something happen prior that warranted it, was a weapon recovered etc.
Forgive my obvious ignorance, but is this something specific to the MN department? Again, I don't know what I don't know, but I thought police we're trained to kneel on the shoulder blades/upper back rather than the neck? Does it vary depending on the department?

Well, they are probably still doing it, but, they were getting caught doing it when I moved here

Again, I get where you're coming from, but I think it's a lot easier for people in good economic/social conditions to say something like that. Not making excuses for anyone, just highlighting nuance.
But yes, ultimately people need to take accountability for their actions.

On a positive note
This is what pig should look like
Ditch the skillet, baking sheet at 400* (or a bit higher) for ~15 minutes depending on thickness of the slices

A lot of that came from cops having used batons to choke people out and crushing wind pipes.
I can only assume, which might be wrong, that their training would be similar; they do have a Police Academy, and unless they are way behind on their Use of Force policy it should not be common. Given the officer who was doing it had a lot of time in he might have been around when it was OK to do, but POST certification is usually required to be renewed annually. This includes updated Use of Force training.
I know that every time there is a change in our Use of Force policy they make sure everyone gets trained, and it is documented, before the change even takes effect.

Many Departments have different polices regarding control holds. Our Use of Force policies have changed quite a bit over the past few years, and this unfortunate incident will impact law enforcement training throughout the world
The autopsy was released and George Floyd did not die from strangulation/asphyxiation. Intoxicants and or a heart condition might be responsible, along with the use of force. My guess is another autopsy will be performed

CNN since Monday have been VERY pro-black and understanding of their frustration with police brutality and etc
Last night Atlanta rioters tried to destroy CNN HQ.... just lol
This morning I was switching CNN and Fox News.....
CNN: we understand their anger....they need a place to vent as long as no one dies during these protests.
Fox News: What the hell!?!?! cops should be rounding up these rioters and throwing their a$$e$ in jail. We are for protesting and all but please dont tell me that stealing TVs and liquor symbolizes "I'm doing this for my community"
just lol

All I know is I was supposed to be off today. It’s my birthday. My fiancée has been stuck up in northern OH since mid-March due to COVID (and then she broke her leg). I’ve only seen her four days total, and she came down for my birthday now that her leg is getting better.
Instead, my off days were cancelled and I’m sitting here trying to get a few minutes of relaxation in riot gear.
-
Possibly moving back to West Palm. If so, I am building a home gym in the garage. I can’t wait.

I don't even know what to say anymore. This very clear division the media has been instigating for years has generated some of the most ridiculous, narrow sighted perspectives I've come across.
Here in Canada, it's lefty central. I identify as non partisan, but anything I say that isn't 100% in line w leftist ideology immediately get's targeted and pigeonholed as "far-right" and "facist". The division is insane. I can't even criticize the riots, or separate the peaceful protesters from the violent rioters without lefties jumping down my neck and calling my a privileged white man......I don't even know what to say anymore, and I think it's pretty clear things are just going to get crazier and crazier leading up to this election.
And CNN, haven't 2-3 people already died during these riots?

ugh, don't get me started. Getting a gun in Canada is next to impossible (not really, but very difficult and long process) and I don't own any guns, but that **** is just ridiculous. I fully support your 2nd amendment. Especially with what we're seeing right now. I just saw a video of a white business owner beaten to death by the rioters. Literally, beaten to death. The video ends with him in a heep on the ground, bleeding out and twitching. How anyone can justify these riots is beyond me, and how anyone can tell somebody that they can't protect themselves with a gun against this kind of injustice is beyond me.
edit: i fact checked that video and it turns out the headline was misleading (he was trying to be a vigilante, wasn't his business) , and the guy did survive, thank ****, but my point still stands.

My Brother is a district manager for Dollar Tree in Sacramento, multiple stores of his looted and burned. My Mom is a manager at Target, multiple stores in her area (not her store yet) looted too. Posts online about protesters heading into their neighborhood (Citrus Heights area) to burn housing, same with Roseville were my sister is. Fun times; quiet out near me though, told them to come here if **** gets rough. Might get sent out to Fresno if it gets bad there, they are already going through a list of C/Os who they can activate to help with riots if needed.
Hope this calms down quick, these idiot kids rioting don't know how fast sht will hit them if the military rolls in, they seem to think it's all a game. Nice seeing some of them getting arrested as the videos are all posted online, easy enough to identify them that way.
