We had a huge number of arrests, (looters) that appeared in court today. All were charged with felonies and sent to the county jail
What they're doing to our cities and towns is truly disturbing and I'm hoping they start charging them as terrorists
After reviewing more video, Mr. Floyd appeared to kick the officer repeatedly while he was placed in the car, he also got his way out of the vehicle, and starting kicking again and possibly spitting, this is why the officers had to restrain him
I'm not saying kneeling on his neck was right or needed, but in a situation when the offender becomes combative and continues to resist the only way to gain control is to restrain the subject. The toxicology report found ******** in Mr. Floyds system and this along with the arrest caused him to suffer a heart attack per the Medical Examiner
I watched the same video as most of you have numerous times and really didn't see much force used by the Police other than the restraint hold (knee) used at the end. I feel for both sides and can say this never should of happened the way it did. I might be venting a bit, but I'm now treated "again" like a criminal for wearing a uniform

Statistically "bad" cops are such a minority it's ridiculous that all cops get blamed.

How many Governor's and Mayor's should be held accountable for what happened? They allowed their states and cities to burn down. Thousands of businesses were pillaged and burned to the ground in the name of revenge
My hats off to the NYPD for being the first Police Department to take control regardless of what they were told, and to all the people that stepped up to protect and secure their communities

Yep, but people won't point the finger at the governors or mayors. They'll point the finger at Trump, bc "orange man bad". When Trump deploys national guard, or threatens military action, he's criticized. If he sits back and let's the violence happen, he's criticized. But it's on the state to manage this situation, and meanwhile it's democratic states that are getting hit the hardest right now, bc those democratic leaders want to make this a politicized play. It's shameful how democratic leaders are capitalizing on civil unrest to discredit Trump leading into the election. They don't give a **** about fixing anything, or solving problems. It's all about popular vote. Meanwhile Trump, for all his faults, is trying to do right by innocent people who are being killed, hospitalized, and having their livelihoods destroyed over violent riots. Protesting =/= Rioting, and it's the duty of government officials, police, national guard etc., to stop this civil unrest. And I'm not even a conservative, just telling it like it is.
The hypocrisy all over the web right now is shameful.

We’ve had really good success here in Cincy. Now, direct communication has opened between our command staff and leaders of the protest (as in, they call each other). It’s gotten very peaceful, but we will see what happens this weekend.
I feel like there is going to be a lot more good than bad that comes out of this.

We can only hope, because these fine left people of the United States want to defund Police Agencies all over the US. The media will continue to poison weak minded people until they're actually affected by a crime. Look at the black on black crimes/shootings that happen here in Chicago on a weekly basis. Where the fuk is Black Lives Matter, Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James and Seth Rogan? We had 100 shootings that resulted in 37 deaths last weekend, why isn't this talked about? What about the 5 year old girl that was killed a few weeks prior. America needs to wake up, because they're fighting for something they don't even understand.

It's racist to point out that like 90% of black homicide victims have a black homicide perpetrator. The media says so, and so it is. Facts and FBI UCR statistics are as racist and evil as you can get.

I have question for you and for anyone else that wants to contribute. If a subject was taken to the hospital under the influence of drugs, resisted and fought the staff and later died would America act the same way?

Ok, but I'm referring to the West side of Chicago where every homicide is black on black. Please stop posting if you don't know what you're talking about

If staff knelt on his neck for 8 minutes on camera while he was cuffed face down, probably similar

In that case who knows. But the problem here is officer Derek Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes. At 8:25 p.m., body camera video appears to show Floyd ceasing to breathe or speak. Officer Lane asks, "want to roll him on his side" and officer Derek Chauvin doesn't and continues with his knee to the neck. Officer Kueng checks Floyd's right wrist for a pulse and he cannot find a pulse. After that officer Derek Chauvin continued with his knee to the neck for another 2 minutes even after he was passed out according to the charging document.

You would not see that done by the staff in a hospital.
All while using threats of force, arrest, and being shot, to physically prevent good people who see what's going on from being able to do a damn thing about it. Forced to watch the slow murder, helpless.
Odds the main guy (I still won't use his name, same as school shooters and the like) had a chub during this time? Maybe more? He really seemed to be enjoying himself.

You'd be surprised what happens in the ER. People are restrained all the time for not complying, and we all knows what happens when you don't

Thinking, and trying to tell us, that what happened in Minneapolis was simply restraining somebody for not complying and would happen just the same in a hospital is precisely why we are in this mess, and it's not going to get any better.
Until people who think that and try to tell us that are fired or otherwise removed from police forces, this is only going to get worse
Anyone try this yet? Curious on the texture being that it uses plant protein

My point is, if it happens in a hospital its more than likely justified, on the street it's not. I don't condone what happened and it never should of, he was wrong, but thats the reality of what can happen

Your point is a good example of why defunding or disbanding police departments is the next option.
Everything you say just makes you and other cops look worse, and it's clear you people are unwilling or unable to learn what is and is not acceptable.
inb4 well if another cop had been caught on camera murdering somebody without care in this exact way before we could update that single department's training policy to make it less likely to happen that exact way at that exact department the next time best we can do
Lets face it...
if there was no video, we wouldnt be having this discussion. Police's word vs the blacks...and nothing will happen. When was the last time a police officer and his/her team got thrown in jail for a murder charge while they were on duty without any video evidence? for every 1, actual guilty charge there's probably 150 that "got away"

That's a bold statement that isn't provable. Let's avoid conjecture. I don't doubt that it happens, but let's not put numbers on it. I'd say it's no secret that police institutions and government institutions across the entire globe have levels of corruption. I just don't like painting with broad strokes that tell half truths.
We all agree this was wrong. Let's hope the legal system doesn't **** this one up. If they do......I do NOT want to see the response considering what we've seen here when the officers have all been arrested and charged, everyone has told the black community that we're on their side from the moment of the incident, and we're getting violent riots anyway.
I think it's important that we speak for officers right now as well. The narrative is 100% focused on black injustice, and it's painting the entire US police force and governing institutions as systemically racist, which isn't true. This is a simple case of simple minds looking for simple answers to complex problems. Tribalism to give people a sense of righteous purpose. None of these people virtue signalling have any clue how our government systems work, or how our economy works. We're facing deeply rooted socioeconomic issues more than anything. Due to initiatives from decades ago, large percentages of the black community have been in a perpetual cycle of poverty. But there are two sides to blame here: government action/inaction, as well as those in the communities helping perpetuate the cycle themselves. But only one of these sides is being talked about right now, and it's being sensationalized, creating division and violence as a result.
On that note, does anyone know any worthwhile organizations to donate to in relation to black equality? I'm not for the narrow sighted virtue signalling we're seeing, and the inability for people to acknowledge that this is a complex issue. But I'd like to contribute the only way I can, instead of putting dumbass black squares on my social media page and condemning people who highlight the complexities of racial inequality. I know the NAACP exists, but looking at their list of accomplishments, it doesn't seem they've been doing much in recent years. Anyone know of an organization that would put my money to good use?
Edit: disregard the ask above guys. I've now rationalized what I already knew to be true: this is an economic issue more so than a race issue. I'm thinking I'll be sending my money to a local food bank or some sort of initiative designed to further education and/or other institutional issues in low income neighborhoods.
Jesus, did I kill the thread? lmao sorry guys.
