Yeah I wasnt sure if itd live up but it was balls out incredible. Seeing it again next week. Only criticism is that it should have ended with him on top of the cop car smearing his blood into the joker smile
The ending is pretty deliberate. Did the part with him on the car even happen?...
Was a great movie. Makes me wish so many more movies weren’t catered to kids/everyone (ie: I hope Star Wars considers this and makes the Vader movie rated R and super dark but I’ve given up on that franchise).
I’ve always loved vigilante movies and I would add this to the death wishes, boondock saints etc list (even though it’s a different premise) but by far the best.
A few issues for me. How does he eventually obtain skills to fight Batman (if this is the same joker) and why didn’t the midget go to police? Also, everyone knows exactly who the joker is.
-
Pretty good I have to say.
Those that want a superhero/villain action thriller will be disappointed. It's entirely focused around the Joker's character development.
Easily enjoyed it more than the MCU stuff.

Just watched a YouTube video that blew my mind... I gotta watch the movie again, FUUUUAAARRRKKKK!!
The whole movie was fake, i.e. everything happened in Arthur Fleck's head... the girlfriend, getting onto the TV show, murdering Murray on the TV show, becoming the anti-hero of the city. It was all a hallucination.
Saw it last night thought it was amazing.

Loved the movie! This is where DC needs to be.
Never been a fan of superhero Dc/marvel movies but I might check this one out.
I'm not either this is not at all within the superhero realm. This movie is pure mental illness
-
Is it comparable to DK trilogy?
But then how can Fleck be The Joker if it was all fake?
Well, they did say it was a standalone movie.
Is it comparable to DK trilogy?
It's somewhat like Batman Begins because it's an origin story, but more of a psychological drama with less action. Joaquin's acting is some of the best in movie history.

I disliked all of them. If I had to pick, infinity war would be ahead of the others.

The killing of Bruce Wayne's parents rules out that theory.

Saw it last night and i thought it was amazing. LMAO at the SJWs criticizing the film for potentially inciting violence. I think it was great because it shows that some people have absolutely chit lives. It touches base on how chitty his upbringing and how his mental health was such an issue. I feel like its important for people to be exposed to this and realize that life isnt all rainbows and unicorns, and that you never really know what people are going through. He was definitely an anti hero and did fuqed up chit, but i could help but sympathize with him which goes to show how good of a film and actor Phoenix is. Really goes to show that you life is too short to be a chitty person and bully/ pick on others. And especially in todays day and age where everybody is depressed and has mental health issues, that really our lives arent as crappy as we perceive them to be
-
Got dayum Phoenix acting was 10/10 in that movie. Great movie all around, sluggish but understandable and the ending payoff was worth it.
I HATE comic book movies but this doesn’t disappoint. If a movie makes you cringe, feel weird, recoil from the violence, and shed a tear for the villain, it’s a winner.

Eh maybe in your eyes, at your current state of mind. The movie moved me.

Why is Infinity War your favorite?

Why does everyone think this joker has to be mastermind already like the TDK joker?? The movie is the origin of joker of course he isn't going to be a dam mastermind already lol
-
Loved this movie. Double posting in case anyone is on the fence about it. Just go if you have the slightest interest.
The scene when he got up on the car, pulled the blood from his mouth and made the smile had so much emotion in his eyes. That's what makes Phoenix such a great actor, it's the overall emotion he conveys.

Movie was made with the purpose to further weaponize and politicize the term "incel". Any future expression of disappointment with how society is headed will be met with this label.
Directed by Todd Phillips, real name Todd Bundzie. A Jewish director who wishes to hide his real inten-- Sorry, his real identity.
Why?

Good movie, yes. Movie of the decade, not even close
It felt a little dragged out on some parts and it was so obvious the whole romance between him and chick was in his imagination. Every time he laughed it had me cracking up and when the midget was screaming was one the funniest scenes I've seen this year.

Neigh Opie that new movie Last Xmas with all them George Michael Songs will knock it sideways and whack it ten out of ten times at the Box Office!

His name was Bunzl, not Bundzie.
And his entire immediate family changed their name, while he was a teenager, because they didn't like his father's side.

So that's what? DC 2 good movies, Marvel 20 something?
