where are there other pics? I am just curious
I just looked up the pictures for the rack Dom has and the one Matrix is selling, then I saw aclockworkoi has the same rack as well. I'm hopeful that the picture he had on the ad is the actual rack (looks nice), it's only 30 minutes away from me though so the drive isn't terrible. This could complicate my life though, the only thing I like equally to my half rack is a nice 3/4 rack. Thank goodness Mech is out of the game, helps make that decision a little easier ;)

BFS or Pro-Elite, not sure but there were talks that they were both made by the same manufacturer in another thread.

This is the case. Mine was BFS, but Pro Elite and Iron Companies "BombProof" BP-96 are all the same rack. I'm not sure who actually builds it.

Well, picked it up today and I'm BLOWN away, serious delima on my hands because I want to keep it for some reason. I have NEVER felt a rack this solid, I tried shaking it and the uprights will not budge. Even my Magnum and Pendlay had a little sway, this has NOTHING!
What stas her doesnt get is i had a chance to buy 2 identical racks for 80 each. I didnt even go there with the intent to buy the rack. I was paying for it for my buddy who i was letting use my streamline rack i got from ndmike.
When i got there i found out there was 2 for 80 each. I kept one and my friend got the other and i got my streamline rack back. If you dont like your custom title stasher you should remove it. No one gave it to you but yourself.
Nice pickup urban. You should keep it. I have 4 7 gauge racks or id keep this one.
Lmao.
This guy is too much.
He expected me to modify a comparable Nebula rack, repaint part of it, and then hold it for a couple months until he could come get it, but accused me of trying to "gouge" him when I quoted him $500 instead of the $250 he was expecting. Of course, he thinks nothing of asking $1000 for a rack that he picked up for $80.
-
Didn't he have to rent a truck and take two days off work to go get them?
-
More BS. I can post the PM where you offered $250.
I can also post a link to the post you made accusing me of trying to gouge you.
Hell, I can also post the PMs regarding the cover and hooks for the Hampton accessory rack that you never reimbursed me for.
Or maybe the one where you wanted me to weld something for you for the cost of shipping, like I work for free.
Not to mention the other regulars you've screwed.
I can go on, if you'd like...
You're a joke. A pitiful hoarder with a house and yard full of rusty junk that sits unused.
Sad.
I appreciate you wanting me to cover your entire ebay purchase tho. I wouldnt have got my vastly superior reflex/sorinex rack for 120. Thanks for that :)
They look similar to the hooks on the old Parabody 843. Very KISS.
Yeah i never said i didnt offer 250. When you got 4 7 gauge racks and 3 benches for 461 ish i think 250 for 1 of the 4 is fair. When you wanted me to cover all of it i offered 375 to meet in the middle.
That hampton stuff you sent me for free bro. That goodwill doesnt give you the right to ask someone to cover the whole price you paid for 1/7 of the items gotten. You know deep inside you were wrong or you wouldnt have tried to feel better by poking fun of yourself with your custom title. Just let it go bro. It doesnt matter anymore.
Four racks and benches for $551, plus the cost of a 14' box truck to haul it, plus gas, and a day's lost wages comes up to way more than $1000. Now, factor in my time cutting/grinding/painting the rack for you, and you still think $250 is a reasonable offer?
You're the only one that doesn't get the joke in my title.

You don't want rollers. They're destructive as hell to knurl. All of that weight concentrated on two small contact points just rolls the peaks flat.

Bench905 had them, I don't think he had any problems.
I'm kinda over the need to protect the knurl that far out

I have three bars that see pretty good rack time, and all of them have significant wear in the area of the rollers. It's not a big deal to me, but it definitely would be if I were the kind of guy to worry about scratches on a sleeve, or such nonsense. :D
-
The UCS rollers are UHMW-lined. The UHMW had knurl marks on it, but zero damage to the bar knurl.
Urban whats that locknut? Is that custom too? My hooks dont have that 🤔
Yeah, that's interesting too. They welded a tab onto the outside of the j-hook and created a locking mechanism so that you can't accidentally knock them out. Pretty clever, and it actually doesn't look like bad work. I'm hoping it doesn't sell, if I have it in a couple weeks I'll fully refurb it and try to sneak it downstairs. My wife has the stupid Abductor / Adductor machines collecting dust, maybe they need to go... LOL

honestly it's the best style of drop in and j-cup, although i'm very biased. the Mech6 monos adjust so freaking easily it's ridiculous. no twisting, rotating or anything.

I didn't care for the hooks on the Parabody rack I had a few years ago. Didn't like the way the bar sat in the hooks. But I'm using a 25mm bar, maybe it sat too low in the "v".

It's more for if you graze them while benching/squatting and end up knocking them out while you still have the bar in your hands/on your back...

Bingo! I clipped the underside of my Pendlay j-hooks and knocked one out once. It's a rare occurrence, but adding the bolt to one side prevents that from ever happening again.

They go fast at bottom pricing. Some people also pull their ad as soon as someone is on the way to get an item, so it never even triggers a search alert. As with most things, it's a combination of how hard you look, how far you're willing to drive, and a little bit of luck.

This one was also posted in 'General', I rarely go outside or Sporting/Beauty to find equipment so it was a unicorn for me. I sent it to a friend and posted here thinking someone would get it, but when my friend passed on the deal I couldn't let it go. Now I'm in serious trouble fellas, once assembled I'm trying to find anyway possible to justify keeping it and doing a full refurb.
Pro's:
1) I can sell my Leg Extension / Curl Machines at 100% profit, rack is then FREE + extra cash in pocket.
2) Dedicated bench / deadlift area, Pendlay becomes permanent squat station that I never have to move.
3) Added weight storage, half my Skinny Script set lays on the floor by the Powertec
Con's:
1) Rack is ENORMOUS, and creates redundancy, going to need extra manpower to get it downstairs
2) Finishing will take at least a week, I would wan't it done right
3) I have to mess with selling 2-3 machines and removing them from my basement (extension, curl, maybe calf raise)

I vote to sell it and move on...
I am all for having a double rack set up, but not when its 2 monsters like you have.
It's not going to add any value to your training other than convenience. You know as soon as you refurb, and set it up, an awesome functional trainer will pop up (and you will be moving this thing out)
-
I vote to sell it and move on...
So, one vote to dump it and move on.
Other potential benefit I forgot about, multiple people training simultaneously. My kids have been lifting, my wife says she plans to start lifting, and I do have friends who come over from time-to-time and our program doesn't always match up. Of course all that could be worked around, just really trying to weigh all the variables.
-
Keeping it will of course require another bar to be kept in that rack. what are the contenders?
-
Keeping it will of course require another bar to be kept in that rack. what are the contenders?
The Texas Power Bar would stay in the Pro-Elite, and the Texas Squat bar would stay on the Pendlay. At least that's how I envisioned things if I decided to keep both, only time I would have to take the squat bar off the half rack would be to do pull-ups.
Edit: I'm going to think on it a while, getting the rack downstairs would require at least 1-2 more sets of hands and it's a long way from being refinished anyway. I figure see what I can get out of a couple machines (hammy/calf raise), start the refinishing process and see what the rack looks like, then decide on what to do with it. Worst case refinishing it will probably get alot more out of the rack, it's pretty rough looking right now. But after scraping the paint off the stainless, a few fresh coats of paint, and some new UHMW on the J-hooks it will get more attention.
-

Sounds like time to start looking at another half rack ( as a dedicated pull up station)
While pondering it; list it at a crazy high (you leave me no choice but to sell it) price and see if a taker comes up while you're debating

I mainly have the second rack so that it's easier to work through squat/bench when lifting with people of varying heights/body shapes/strength, but the convenience of being able to set up more than one lift makes my lunch hour training sessions that much easier to finish in a timely fashion.
