There is one listed on Craigslist in southern New Hampshire for $1200 which I think is overpriced . Looks in perfect condition and a nice rack but $1200 ? This seller deals a lot of stuff but he does seem to overprice his stuff.
Yeah, way too high. You can't squat/press off the front of the rack, fully welded, huge hole spacing, etc. It's a basic rack except for plate storage. It's not a bad rack...but 1200 used should be a killer rack. That thing should be 400-600.

Agree 1200 used gets you into Powerlift or equivalent on the used market. Top tier pricing. Cybex is ok but not worth remotely that.
-
Thanks everyone for the comments. They really help a lot and great information. I did get him to send me a picture of the safeties and they appear to be okay, but he won't separate the rack from the weights and it's just not that great of a deal for both. He originally had the rack listed separately for 380 but won't even consider that now.
-
Throwing my 2 cents into this talk. I've actually sold 2 of these Cybex 5425 Power Cages before, 1 for $675, that I listed and sat for like a week, it was in OK shape, there was a good amount of rust/shown of usage on bottom half and all weight pegs, as well as the rods being just the slightest bit bent, like super duper unnoticeable unless to where you'd need some straight edge to go across it just to see the bend. I've also sold one for $800, in very good condition, that was silver, and I just had someone looking for a good quality squat rack. I don't know if it's a trend or people here care, but silver/titanium (like on HS equipment) does command a premium for in my experience

Exactly.. I drove 3 hours each way for a Hammer Strength Half Rack with locking bench in mint condition for $900 and the guy even threw in a stainless steel power bar. A lot of driving but I thought it was worth it.. The Cybex is nice but not $1200 nice.

Not my machine or listing, but this is identical to my Star Trac kneeling leg curl (but mine has purple pads).... at $750 it's a great price compared to new. I wanna say I paid around $2200-2500 for mine brand new. Edit: Now that I see the listing a little closer..... looks like old dude OSUDimond is still around.

OSU seems to still be going strong with the equipment business, although I saw his Power Lift racks up for sale out of his gym facility which made me wonder how that business was functioning. His prices are always on point, here are at least three things I would be willing to buy from him today (if I were in the market).
Legend Half Rack

Heavy duty dip stations for $75

Commercial Knee raise for $75 (needs paint)

$400 Seems like a decent price for a Nautilus Leg Extension

-
$100 FI Bench Flex Fitness brand (I believe this was a precursor to Star Trac?) Commercial
I think I have seen these used for typically about twice that price

Scored an IM bench with the leg attachment along with the 75 lb IM dumbbell set with stand for 400. Looked almost unused, albeit quite dusty. New to this, but I think I did well.
Yea, the market here in Upstate NY is VERY dry.
2-3 hour drives in any direction are common when it comes to finding something to pick up.
There is a York GHD in my area for $450, but it seems to have bad reviews for it online (Rogue Website).

We had one of those in my high school weight room and I couldn't stand the thing. Never felt completely stable up top and the rolling pads limited the difficulty quite a bit since it was a balancing act to get your kneecaps anywhere near the top of the pad without wiping out.
On a side note are we allowed to post our own Craigslist sales on here? I'm offering up a lot of gear and figure it could use some more publicity.

That ad is suspiciously similar to other ads that have run showing the same map location. The old ads ran for a long time, too. I never got a response from the older ads. It is a very rural area, but not that far from civilization.
I've never understood how scammers on CL work. Do they just collect phone numbers or what?

I'm making due with my Powertec for now, but the range of motion sucks and I hate loading/unloading plates. Tip for all the newbz, ALWAYS keep your spare parts because you never know if they might come in handy. Made these wood blocks for my Powerblocks, and the flat pad was from an old Hammer Strength bench. My ghetto low row...

That looks great..I want to do something similar to use on my Inspire FT2 functional trainer..It has low pullies but sitting on the floor sucks..Was thinking on grabbing a cheap craigslist rowing machine and use the slides and seat frame assembly.

That is actually pretty neat. I'm thinking of making something similar for my Powertec, but raise the seat like 6-inches or so off the floor (maybe with a slight slant towards the pulley). Do you think that would help with the range of motion? I don't mind loading plates.... not loading that many plates for it to bother me yet :D
-
Maybe, I might add something to the pad to bring it up a few inches. You can use the bench in a decline setting, but I like the mid-row feel better than pulling from a low row position. BTW, here is one for the new guys asking about good starter benches, good example of what to look for. Excellent find, after a nice paint job I'm sure this would make someone VERY happy.

I've seen posts of others mocking people for their "rusty junk" and the price they request when they were vintage plates

Way high, in my opinion. Going with new OMs wouldn't cost much more.
-
A new set cost $3lb+ new. Personally I think 1.50lb, unless they're in really good shape or rightly refurb, is very high. Is your market dry of higher quality plates?

Pretty overpriced. I'd want to stay in the $1/lb range or if I really wanted them maybe justify $1.25/lb.
Dumbbellbuddy has the same set including 1.25s new for $679 shipped

I was able to pick up my revolvers for .80/lb,
And I recall a huge lot of revolvers in the Boston area selling at a rate of .90/lb back in December (Page 16 of this thread)
So my call is that $2.00/lb is a bit high, but I'm not an expert by any means
EDIT - basically what has been said by others above.

I am in central Mass and I noticed that listing ..That is crazy..I find a lot of listings that seem drastically overpriced around here..Seems to have gotten worse over the last couple of years.
-
The fact that they’re still available after six months answers your question. I agree with the others and wouldn’t pay over $1/lb for these. I sold about 600lbs of OM’s in the same condition as this listing for $1/lb. Revolvers will go for more.
-
I forgot to check this website, and went with ironcompany's prices. Good Mention.
-
I got revolvers for under a dollar a pound in Mass. Check Craigslist for ads based out of Peabody. George is a great guy and deals in second hand equipment. Him and his partner seem to price everything very fairly. I also got an Ivanko OB-20KG from them for like 120.

I agree..I’ve bought plates from George as well and he is a great guy..sells quality stuff at a fair price..Honest and easy to deal with. I got a bunch of urethane and rubber Hampton Hog plates from him and he even contacted me weeks later to tell me he had more and offered them to me before listing them..
