trying to sell a piece lately on craigslist. So many f..... weirdos and scam artists lately. I've experienced it before but seems to be at a all time high now. I'm not on facebook so I don't use their marketplace.
Guy last week was supposed to pick it up and he never shows up. I get an email from someone with the same name today and says he wants the piece??????
anyone else experiencing this lately.

Not that specifically but I've had a couple different scammers tell me they would send me a (fake) cashier's check. They stop responding when I tell them cash or venmo only. There's a misconception that a cashier's check means guaranteed funds. It has to clear just like a personal check.

getting alot of " I will be driving from out of state to pick it up"
another is " I don't check my craigslist email- email at this.......".
sorry just venting I guess. I haven't sold a piece in a while, just seems to be alot worse now I guess.

Craigslist has a lot of bots and, generally, they are triggered when the price is over a certain threshold. If you respond to the bot, you will often just get another automated response, but some scammers will reply personally once they have hooked a live person. There aren't a lot of genuine buyers/sellers on Craigslist anymore.

Venmo funds aren't guaranteed either. It appears as if they are because the transaction is instantaneous, but it takes a couple days for that transaction to actually process. Cash and crypto are really the only transactions that are truly guaranteed and irreversible.

According to vemo, payment can't be canceled so good enough for me.

It can be reversed by the bank just like any credit/debit and Venmo may reverse it at their discretion. The seller has little recourse since use of Venmo as payment for goods is a violation of the TOS unless the seller is using a business profile and paying the applicable fees to Venmo.
[quote]
Venmo may NOT otherwise be used to receive business, commercial or merchant transactions, meaning you CANNOT use Venmo to accept payment from (or send payment to) another user for a good or service, unless explicitly authorized by Venmo.
Unless directly given the option by Venmo, DO NOT USE VENMO TO TRANSACT WITH PEOPLE YOU DON’T PERSONALLY KNOW, ESPECIALLY IF THE TRANSACTION INVOLVES THE PURCHASE OR SALE OF A GOOD OR SERVICE (for example, concert tickets, electronic equipment, sneakers, a watch, or other merchandise). These transactions are potentially high risk, are not allowed under Venmo’s User Agreement, and Venmo does not have a protection program for such transactions unless directly offered. So:
If you send a Venmo payment to an unauthorized business profile or another individual for a good or service, you could lose your money without ever getting what you paid for.
If you accept a Venmo payment from someone for a good or service via your personal profile (instead of a business profile) and we later review the payment, we may reverse the payment, meaning you could lose both the payment and the item sold. This review process may not occur until after you attempt to transfer the funds out of Venmo.

probably bots yeah, weird thing this guy last week responded a few times asked questions, said he was renting a truck from home depot to pick it up. Well he never showed up and no responses to why. wasted my time that day, yesterday I get a response from someone with the same name saying he is interested in the same piece.
I'm like what the f..... is going on here.

With the way things are going we need to create an 'Official Facebook Marketplace Thread', I rarely even look at CL anymore. I'd much rather see someone's profile and have all their contact information before meeting, feel like CL is going to go by the way of the dodo bird here soon.

Leg death row is not the same without it. That, the Streamline power squat, and the Rogers hip sled were killers together.

Once C2 caught up and eliminated the wait list, that was the beginning of the end for the hyper-inflated pricing on C2s. The home gym market in general became over-saturated due to COVID though, so a lot of stuff is sitting even at reasonable pricing simply because of low demand. Fire sale pricing still gets it out the door fast though. At a certain price point, people will buy regardless of whether they want/need it just because it's too cheap to pass up.

I just picked up this flat bench for $35, missing a foot, and a small tear in the vinyl. But otherwise, pretty nice, still a bit tall, but shorter than the Xmark I just sold at a loss. Hoping to make due with this for the time being.

Anyone know where to get a replacement end cap foot? I found it on fitness repair parts, but with shipping and min order, comes out to more than I paid for the bench.
