I'm split between the X-20 rack and a similarly priced Magnum open top rack & platform that is 120 miles further...

I have a Magnum A690 multi rack similar to the one you're interested in and love it. It takes up more space than the 1/2 rack but I like uprights behind me when I do squats.
Matrix bought Magnum, you can get the hooks new from them but they're pricey. Probably better off having someone make you a pair. I have a set of mono-hooks on mine so I leave the stock j-hooks on the front uprights and with a minor mod, use the as hooks on the outside of the rack.

I do have ample room since it's a large 3 car garage.
I take it you also got your mono-hooks from Mech6? Is there anyone else making mono-hooks for these racks?

I attached a couple pics of an older style Atlantis bench that popped up pretty locally. Can't find anything on the bench, other than it's an older style because of the posts for adjustment. Anyone have this bench? What would it be worth to pick it up?
-
its a b-177 older model atantis bench high end commercial. well may have been a different model when it was produced.
-
a good rule of thumb is that for most used commercial adjustable benches, in good condition, are a good deal at $300. if they're not common in your area, paying up to about $400 might be worth it for a great quality version of if something is particularly valuable to you for some reason. even at the $400 range though you can start shopping new benches though
Would it be easy to source hooks for this Magnum rack?
This might be a bit risky, and you would need to do some careful measuring/shimming, but someone else once mentioned using any 3x3 attachment and cutting down the center peg to make your own drop in (like Rogue Monster with 1" pin). I have considered maybe even trying Titan fitness to see if it can be done with my Pro-Elite rack, so that I can have sandwich j-cups and monolift attachments without having to pay BWTG to do something custom. McMaster Carr was reasonably priced when I ordered UHMW to tighten up my existing j-cups, and they even have tube shaped if you need to make the pin diameter larger. Just a thought....
Would it be easy to source hooks for this Magnum rack? I’ve been trying to source info on it and I’ve found a lot of positive reviews but it looks like Magnum has since gone out of business or was acquired... would I need to go custom? it’d be nice to find some UHMW lined hooks for it.
I did find this thread where urbanlifter posted a picture with a lineup of identical racks:
forum .bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=164824051
missed this, sorry.
I should think j-hooks shouldn't be a problem to source. Dean from Black Widow Training Gear has a good rep here last time i heard people talk about him. one thing to consider is getting double sided j-hooks with one side being lower than the other. that way you have offset spacing in case you like the bar a half notch higher or lower for a certain lift. it's one of the nice things about drop in style.
i personally love that style of drop in.

Are the 2.5 lb and 1.25 lb York plates in this post worth trying to pick up? 1" holes doesn't make them particularly useful, so probably a pass, but they caught my eye.

Thanks Cleveland, Dom, irongrandpa and urbanlifter... especially on the input for a j-hook solution. On spread. Leaning towards the Magnum w/ platform but he's asking $850 while the guy with the UCS rack is willing to do 650 and is 120mi closer.

as someone who loves his open top rack, that very much resembles the Magnum, i would definitely lean towards the UCS half rack considering it's cheaper and closer.

Is there any value in used 1"/standard York plates? There's probably a 200-300 pounds of them in my grandparents basement. I believe they're mostly from the early to mid 90s. From what I read here, no one really wants standard plates, but people do want Yorks.

Eh.. not much. And most people want vintage Yorks.. early/mid 90's isn't really anything exciting.

Boxer, if you try to modify any attachments to use on a drop in style rack, check the upright size, my Magnum rack has 4"x3" uprights. If you get a rack with 3"x3" you should be able to make something work.

People like the 50s, I sold some, but you are going to only get 50 cents a lb at best. If you have 10s, and to a lesser extent 7.5, and 5s, and they are smooth flat pancakes you can sell them too for people making dumbbells.
-
Dont worry folks...I just saved someone from getting ripped off. They were selling 3 sets of dumbbells equating to almost 500lbs for $20!!
I explained the situation...and they increased the price to $100, lol. I said to sell them for a minimum of $0.50/lb. Oh well...least they'll get more $$ when the sell within a couple hours.
Thats my good deed for the year.

Thanks! There are a few 50s on an old leg press, the last time I looked. It's most 2.5, 5 and 10 lb plates. For all the lifting the man says he did, there's not much in the way of weight down there.

I don't know what's worse the fact that he paid $1000 nine months ago or that it took him 9 months to figure out that he wasted $1000 or that he thinks it's worth $780 or that he plays fast and loose with sentence structure
I have so many questions about this design.

But it has wheels. Totally worth it.

What should I offer for these Troy plates?
seattle.craigslist.org/tac/spo/d/troy-calibrated-steel-plates/6643874313.html

I would pay his asking tbh. They look to be excellent shape and they're great quality plates. If you really want to negotiate offer him 400-450.

agreed, even if you find you don't like them you should be able to offload it easily and break even.
they'll probably sell quick

Picked up some 100s that look exactly like this recently. Are they calibrated? Haven't weighed them yet

Offered him $400 and he agreed. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I'll pick them up this week. I really couldn't do $500 and $450 would have really been pushing, so I'm glad it worked out and I'm getting a good deal. Thanks for the advice!

i might be taking a roadtrip and thought i'd see what's available. haven't seen anything great for me, but this would be a pretty good pickup for someone who needs it

That's the rack that I have and it's fantastic. The open top racks are a little long for my liking, but otherwise I have zero complaints. I don't see the safeties in that picture, so maybe you need to buy new one's from York?
