Bulk or keep cutting?
About 12%BF. Which usually means the end of a cut.
I'd say transition to maintenance, stay there until lifting progress stalls, then a small surplus.
I contacted the Dexa scan company and they went back and reviewed all the scans for the day. They came to the conclusion that everything was measured accurately.
They also said that the margin of error is +/-1%. That's according to the manufacturer, which I believe is GE.
So I guess I only lost 1.8% body fat after 12 weeks and 11 pounds lost, but that just seems nuts to me.
DEXA scan has an error rating which is pretty big some studies have seen 8-10% variance but usually 3% is accepted as common error rating and I can ensure the company won't admit it.

All forms of testing have large error ratings except autopsy and you have to be dead for that one. I would just go by pics and measurements and forget the rest. It may not be the machine (however it still has errors for density measuring) but also the participants hydration level.

+/- 1%? Does that mean their assessment of 27.9% means the real answer is between 28.9% and 26.9%? That is a very large range if you are comparing results for progress. Don’t forget that the first test you took also has this range of error. So the total range of error is +/- 2% when calculating the difference.
The article in the post above this says it all. It gives a larger range of error, which almost make the test useless for measuring short term progress.

About 18%BF. That number matters less in your situation though... put all your effort into building mass, eat enough to be able to progress in the gym.

In between 14-15%BF.
Hard to say with precision, but I'd guess about 2-3 months, depending on deficit size and hydration.

Around a month ago, I was estimated to have a BF of around ~18%.
Lost about 2-2.5 kg since then, so I wanna check the current BF %.
Trying to decide when it's time to start bulking, as you can guess.
Thanks!

I am currently aiming for about a ~700Kcal deficit daily.
I am curious, if I am 2-3% out from 12% bodyfat and currently weigh 155, isnt that ~5Lb to cut. Ie another month of 700kcal deficit diet?
Thanks again for the response! appreciate the help.

Hi guys,
Wanted a quick estimate on my BF%.
Been cutting for the past 5 weeks.
Went down from 201 lbs to 191 lbs. Plan is to go down to at least around 175 and see how I look then.
Attaching back and front one. Thanks in advance!

Quick progress there! About 13%BF.
You can bulk as soon as you feel ready.

This is the hard part and why estimating end points is a crapshoot, way too many factors to say for sure. Some people drop (visually) 1%/month some drop a lot more, it's highly individual. Even if two people have the same weight and deficit, one might have different hydration levels due to (insert reason) or store their water differently. Some people lift more and store more water in their muscle, some eat low carb... sodium cycles, creatine etc.
I usually go by 4lbs = 1% as an average, but I am wrong in this more often than not.
Just keep it up and you'll see what happens:-)

Thanks man!
Do you think that with another 15 lbs I will be able to reach 12-13 % or?

Thanks man! I really tried to be serious about both the working out and the nutrition aspect this time.
I'll also probably start a separate thread to discuss my bulking decision, soon.

5 weeks into cut I’m weighing 176.8 (that was my lowest weigh in so far). Couple of questions. My ultimate goal is 8-10% bodyfat. Any estimate on where I’d have to end up weight wise to be around there? Also loose skin possibly near the lower stomach? Would it look worse as I get leaner?
Also pics are one flexed and one relaxed. Thanks fam.

Started at 203 lbs on June 1. Currently 178 lbs as of this morning. 5"11, 31 years old. My goal is to cut down to 10% body fat and then continue to eat clean and add size slowly. Averaging 1750 calories a day. 45% protien, 30% fat and 25% carbs. My goal is to have abs for the first time in my life. I workout 4x a week. No cardio because my job as a service technician has at least 12-15,000 steps a day. My eating window is 2 pm - 8 pm everyday. The rest of the time i'm drinking water and black coffee only. If you guys could please estimate my body fat percentage that would be awesome.

15-16%. You are looking at the 160lb bracket for 10%. Most likely will look more noticeable I would go to 170lb then bulk.
