what do you mean 'keep eating'?
what do you mean 'keep eating'?
So specifically, I mean if I should keep trying to gain weight while lifting or if I should start cutting. I know it's completely subjective but I've heard it's not very efficient to bulk with 18%ish bodyfat.

Hey everyone, last time I posted in here they said I was ~25%. I'm 6'2 ad 18, started a cut at 232 on November 1st and currently ~215 lbs, around 8 lbs lost when I posted the other pictures. The new pictures are in my bodyspace and I was looking for a bf% estimate for where I'm at right now. Thanks!

Hi all
Hope you all are doing alright, I have a question and I need your advice and help. I’m a 25 year old man who weighs at 180lbs with a 34% bf and is 5’8 feet tall.
I started cutting in September 16th, I was 196lbs with a 42% bf. I’m happy with my steady progress so far. I have two questions so bare with me please, first question; Can you estimate my bf percentage, I’ll post pictures, because I’m basing my bf % on the inbody scale at my local gym, which I know isn’t accurate at all. Second question is I want to get down to 14% bf by august 2021 and maintain it for awhile, then maybe lean bulk once I get to that digit. Judging by my pictures and progress thus far, is it possible? I eat below maintenance which is (1900 cals) at the moment. I’ll lower the calories as I lose more weight.
Thank you all in advance.

I put you somewhere in the area of 30% but in that range it's hard to really give a specific number.
You have about 25-30lb of fat to lose to put you in the low teens for BF... so yeah... losing 25-30lb in 8 months (32 weeks) is doable for sure.
If you're in a true 500-700 calorie deficit or so, that should get you there.

May I have an updated BF percentage please? I was making some coffee and walked past a mirror noticing my gut is finally completely gone.
5’8” 175lbs.
I’m thinking I’m around 17%. Maybe 16? But I’m not sure.
Thanks!

Hey y'all. Put on a bit of weight and exercised less during 2020 because of lockdown and all, but I'm looking to get back on track again. Here's where I currently stand. I'd like to slim down and get a bit more toned this year.
Stats:
6 ft, 0.5 in
168 lbs
waist: 35
Any estimates or advice as to where I should go next would be greatly appreciated! I'm also attached these to my bodyspace/profile, if you'd prefer to view them there.
Oof just realized all my pics are horizontal. Also I'm not 51 like my profile implies, I'm 20. :/ sry abour that!!

You need muscle, badly, its pointless to even give you a bodyfat estimate since you have no muscle at all on your frame. You should not be cutting or attempting to lose anymore weight, you just need to start strength training on a good program and ensuring you're eating enough protein (around 1g per lb of bodyweight daily).

What is my body fat%?

I'm hoping I'm around 15-16% but I doubt it after reading this thread.
Cannot post url due to less than 50 posts.

I’d say 15% is a good estimate

I've been training (with heavier lifts) and watching my nutrition consistently since I last posted. A frank honest BF% would be much appreicated

Estimation
Hi was just hoping for an estimation so I know how much more weight too lose before I start to bulk.
I don't know how to post a pic so will give as much info as I can.
5ft 10 175lbs down from 230lbs waist is 34 inches down from 42. Still have protrusion in the stomach region so I expect I have a way to go yet.
If anyone can direct me on how to post pic it would be greatly appreciated.
Just uploaded some photos in my gallery not sure if people can see them?

Hello fellas, I'm 10 weeks into getting back into shape. 212 in the first pic starting and 192 this morning (I'm on no carbs so a bunch of that is probably water too)
Am I below 25% yet in the second picture? It is from this morning
Much appreciated ahead of time

What do you mean you’re on no carbs? Why would you do that?
Your current looks like around 23-25% to me

Ty brother
It’s a little more strict than that now since I’m doing Lyle McDonald’s RFL until Feb to kick start things and then slipping back into just plain old eating less and lifting
I’m a fat lard now and doing RFL is some quick and easy lbs while I’m here

You dont look any different than the last time you asked. Changes come slowly, unless your weight has changed significantly over the last month don't expect your bodyfat percentage to change.

Sup guys! My goal is lean down to 10% to bring out definition and face gains. Lifting 4x a week, although I don't care much for putting on massive size as I think achieving that lean fighter type physique would look cool on my frame, but then again I've never been super lean before so I'll have to play it by ear. Cutting at ~1800 calories currently and will up to 2000-2400 soon since I started a job that's very physically demanding. Anyways, my best guess is 17-18% currently since my waist needs to shrink a ton but at the same time obliques and top abs are starting to show definition. Assuming that, goal weight should be ~170 lbs. Does that sound about right?
Your lighting is very bad and your photos are pretty far away (try framing just yourself in the photo instead of your entire room), but 17-18% from what I can tell might be close.
Hard to say where you'll be at a certain bodyfat percentage because lots of variables in play, but somewhere between 160-170 is a best guess.
-
You're right the lighting sucks, pics looked way better on my phone. I'll have to retake them soon. Thanks for the response!

I dunno what RFL is but if it says ‘eat no carbs’ that sounds like terrible advice

It’s a short term crash diet and I am aware. He’s pretty up front about what it is. It’s a take on a PSMF

Uh, but you said you’ve been doing it for like 10+ weeks... aren’t PSMF’s supposed to be very very short term?

I broke a week for Christmas to eat at maintenance. Was right around thanksgiving through Christmas, break a week then back on
Depends on your leanness. For lean people yea. He puts his users into 3 categories based on how fat you are and I’m definitely in the last category. He has lean doing it for 12 days max before breaking, that in between doing 6 weeks max, and then my category for 12 weeks max before breaking. I can’t remember the bf %’s off the top of my head for each category but I want to say sub 12% for 12 days, 13% to low 20% for 6 weeks and then above that go longer
There’s different variations on a PSMF but from what I’ve seen of others it’s feel free to go longer if you’re fatter basically. That wiki mentions modern takes on it can do 6-16 weeks but if I was leaner I would not think about that

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. When do you think it would make sense to repost? I know I'm being impatient. I'm just worried that my motivation is dipping.

What are you trying to do, because you lack muscle. If you are trying to build muscle then spend at least a year just focusing on that and getting stronger and stop worrying about a bodyfat estimate.
When you see significant changes in the mirror then come back and ask for another estimate.
