Is cardio needed? Does it matter how many carbs or fats i eat or just that i reach 145g protein and 2500 cals? Whats the benefit of cutting for 12+ weeks instead of doing like 30 days and eating less cals, like 1000 cals the last couple days?
No it isn't its optional to help a calorie deficit. A calorie deficit is required either by eating less food or exercise more, eating less is easier. Please read the stickies on nutrition it has all these answers. You need to calculate fats as well (0.4g per lb of body weight at a minimum) as for carbs they are completely optional however I personally believe and many others they are important for energy especially around workouts, my highest macro is always carbs and I can't imagine not eating them.
Can your maintain a eating style for 30 days then keep it that way which will cause you to lose that amount of fat? No as the moment you return to your normal eating you will just gain all the fat back. You have to understand fat gained didn't happen over night and best not try and lose it that way instead adopt a healthier control eating behaviour. Not to mention sanity, potential muscle loss, strength plummeting, hormonal balance, libido drop etc. OR you could lose weight at a sensible maintainable rate and still live a normal life whilst losing fat which you may even gain some muscle (small I will admit but better then none).
Take your pick I know what I would do.
5'9" 177lbs Was travelling a lot, and been able to diet down again/resume cut.
Trying to refeed, want a estimate of starting point, I believe I'm under 15% so 1 refeed a week?
Can someone estimate my TDEE? I'm seeing ranges from 2800-3600.
I lift 5.5 days per week (.5 because arm only day) and do cardio (walking on an incline 30min~) twice a week.
imgur com/a/WmsOuxD
About 14%
I personally don't do refeed days as I consume plenty of carbs all the time during my cut. You could just estimate weekly calories then divide by 7 and there is your number of calories to consume no refeed required.
No-one can answer what your TDEE is except you, run with a number then deduct 500 calories and see if you drop a 1lb a week, if after 2 weeks you of trying you don't lose anything drop more calories.

24% about. You should have enough to cut to 15% then review. No way anyone will know, run with it and if you lose between 1-2lbs a week carry on, if its too high (3lbs+ after 2 weeks continuously) then increase calories. If however your weight stalls for 2/3 weeks then decrease calories by 200.
On a cut from 215 @ 28% bf in July to 191 @ 18.6% measured two weeks ago using 8 point (hands and feet) bi machine. Thinking it might be a tad underestimating. What do you guys think? Also recommendations for bulk, cut, or recomp? Lean muscle mass measured at 46% showing a 2 lb increase. Thanks!

I’m 6’4 200lbs what bf do y’all think I am based on avi which is from today Im flexing chest relaxing everything else. Also how much do I need to go down to get cut and have visible abs assuming I have good muscular tone under the flab. Handheld bf tester at gym says 12.3% but I’m pretty sure it’s way higher than that right?

Just depends on the amount of lean mass you got. Judging by your picture I would guess around 14-17 percent~

5'6" male here. I began weight lifting around 3-4 months ago and went from 133 to 145lbs the first 2 months. Past couple of weeks I decided to lower my calories a bit and Im now at 138lbs, wondering if i should cut or do a really clean bulk.
6'4", 203 Pounds. Picked up weight lifting about 1 year ago. Got a hand injury and stopped lifting the month of December. Also ate like crap in December. Starting lifting again January 1st and also started cutting to get the December bloat off. What is my body fat percentage at right now? Being a tall dude, I sometimes find it hard to estimate. Been getting anywhere from 12% to 16% using online sources. I want to hit 10% before I start a clean bulk again.

Age: 39

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m in need of some advice. I’m currently 152 lbs and I’m 5’9. I’m not sure of my body fat percentage, but the pic below was taken on Monday evening. I’m very much a beginner and haven’t done much strength training. I’m in week 3 of a program and am doing a 5 day split. I’m currently in a cut, my nutrition breakdown is 1,875 calories, 188 grams of protein, 188 grams of carbs, and 42 grams of fat.
Ultimately I would like to get my body fat percentage under 10% and put on some muscle as I know I have virtually none. I'm having a hard time figuring out my current body fat percentage. I’ve had a DEXA scan, used the handheld monitors, and my scale to help determine the percentage. I think they are all inaccurate.
I have no issue with cutting and am pretty diligent with staying within my calorie range; however, I do tend to go over on carbs and be under on fat. My main concern about cutting is losing more body weight and looking sickly. I am working with an coach and he says to keep cutting until I reach 10% body fat. Once I reach that, then to start bulking and put on more muscle mass. I have seriously gone back and forth on this and questioning if I should continue to cut or not. Other than my concern about body weight, I have no problem with cutting.
My questions to you all are:
1. What would you guesstimate my body fat percentage to be?
One thing to note, I spent the majority of my youth and early 20’s overweight. My highest was over 300 lbs. I lost a lot of weight quickly, about 100 lbs in six months. Looking back on it, it was not done the best way, but I can’t go back and undo it. This has left a lot of loose skin, namely in my upper thighs, which you can’t really see here. I had the skin around my stomach removed. It’s my thought that this extra skin could partly be reason why I’m having a difficult time getting an accurate BF % reading. I also know that I hold a lot of the fat in my love handles/lower back, which isn’t visible.
2. Should I continue to cut? If so, are my macros on point or should they be adjusted?
3. Anyone else in the same boat in regards to concerned about body weight being/getting too low?
Thank you for the help!

12% would be my guess. You could get away with 10% although not essential as you already look lean well done.

18-19%. You could do either just following a good weight training program. If you don't mind the extra bit of fat bulk slowly, if concerned about the amount of fat cut down to 150lbs and review.

15% or greater. The way your body carries fat is ideal though. Very evenly distributed and not packed over your abs
