Thanks!
The cut is just getting difficult because now I am starting to get hungry. Hadn't been hungry at all the last 3 months but I definitely have put muscle on during the cut, been lifting.
Starting pic with the newest for reference. I think maybe putting on some lean mass will help shed what is left but not sure.
Honestly bro if I could go back in time and cut to 12% before I decided to bulk up. I would do it in a heart beat
yep this was what i thought could happen too
it's like a psychological thing where cutting from 19-20% would feel exhausting ("oh man this is going to take forever" mentality), but starting from 15% is already very close and the willpower is high

I'd say somewhere around 13-14% maybe.
But it's tough with the lighting... more flattering lighting and you'd probably look way leaner

You did excellent bro! Yeah you should start lean bulking. It isn't worth losing more fat just to shed that last bit of fat. I'm dedicated to 16 week cut. Only 12 days to go and it's getting so unbelievably hard now.
You made it though way to go and go. Guess we will start lean bulking together so we got to keep each other straight.

I concur with Adam
Great job on putting on some quality size!
Wow thanks Adam! Reps on spread mate :)
Yeah the lighting isn't ideal but at least it's consistent for all of my progress photos so there is some apples to apples comparison there
Honestly I was thinking I was sitting somewhere around 16% BF for picking up weight this quickly, but it's hard to be objective on myself
Thanks again!
Yeah I think especially with your leg mass, the total % is going to be absolutely 15% or lower... but I really think 13-14% is more likely.

Honestly dude, to put on 20 lbs in 130 days that successfully without looking like you added any fat at all is pretty incredible. Whats even more amazing is that you were basically the same weight and 23% bodyfat only 10 months ago. Either you have insane genetics and your training and nutrition is 100% perfect, or you had some unmentionable help. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but my spidey sense tells me otherwise. Either way, repped.
I've given this a bit more thought and I appreciate this topic coming up.
I plan on eventually competing in natural bodybuilding and if possible I'd like to assuage any concerns regarding my lifetime natural status.
Are there any tests I can take on a regular basis that would help on this front? Earlier this year I took some blood tests that included my testosterone levels but is there anything more comprehensive and specific?
Thank you in advance, and I apologize if this is the inappropriate place to ask this question.
Sure there's tests you can do on your own dime at labs, but anyone can pass a "one time, self-scheduled" test. If you want to compete and maintain your natural status why not just join and compete in a Natural league that does random, year-round testing like INBA or PNBA?

Estimate Request
Hello!
I started my cut a week ago, and I've got a photo from Day 1: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=179077181
Any estimates would be much appreciated - here or there. (6'1", 218lbs, 42 years)
Props to my fellow Washingtonians in here, too. (Go Hawks!)

Cheers, my man!
And, yeah, I am pretty fortunate with my fat distribution. Perhaps it's balanced out though with my stubborn lower ab fat as I get leaner though, because only twice ever in my life have I not had that extra layer covering my lower abs, even in the seldom times I've been lean. (Definitely a stubborn fat area for most guys - mine just seems extra stubborn to spite me.)
Thanks again, and this thanks shouldn't preclude others from chiming in with their estimates.
Thanks!

Honestly no... I mean I'm eating like 3200 calories on most days... I eat 4 meals a day... a lot of whole foods with an odd 'treat' here and there... don't feel hungry at all...
But really, I mean I've eaten ice cream a few times this week, I never really 'crave' anything... it's been oddly easy... I'm actually trying to eat a little more now because I Think I could gain more mass if my BF was closer to 12-13%, even 15% or so... just because it's helpful to have an energy buffer for anabolic signaling...

Assuming that those pictures were taken unflexed and with zero pump, I'd say still sub 10% (8.5-9%) ATM.

No pump, but a 'normal' flex.
-
No pump, but a 'normal' flex.
Then maybe 9-10% depending upon the day, hydration levels, etc. (which is basically a normal daily deviation)
Side note: your activity level must be fairly above average. At 6' tall and 158-160# (depending on the day) If I were to eat 3200 cal/day I'd be adding 1.5 pounds per week not 1.5 pounds per month.

It's fairly high... I usually do a 60min light/moderate stationary bike session in the morning, I lift weights for 60-70min 4 days a week, and on average I walk about 6-7 miles a day.
However, I have a very high 'NEAT' response to surplus calories... I fidget a lot, etc, even when overfeeding, so the presumed surplus always ends up being less than expected.
I can seemingly maintain weight eating between 2900-3100 calories because within that range, the excess just gets burned off unconsciously.

Hah thanks. I just try not to snag it on all the lady's jewelry.
Kidding ;o)
I've got a long way to go... I'm looking to gain about 40lb over the next couple years... im still quite small, but because I waxed and waned over the years, I have a lot of muscle memory from past times where I bulked up to a much better size... so the shape of my muscles maintained quite a bit..
That's probably why lean bulking is a bit easier right now.. muscle memory helps a lot.

Lol so funny you mention this because as I got leaner. I got more veins on my abs. Was 1 then 2 then 3 now 4 so I think it's cool to use that as a measure for fat gain or loss lol

I'd actually put him up around 20-21%, he's carrying a good amount of fat on his torso and the shoulder cap to bicep definition/separation is not very apparent.

I was just about to ask about your activity level when I saw this. Was wondering how you had such a high TDEE. You're definitely a rare breed if you're able to maintain that year round; thats pretty incredible.
I would guess 14% cause I see abs and slight obliques and you start to lose the soft look
I recommend you lean bulk cause I see no point trying to get to 10% without any muscle mass

Looking good. You could cut for another month and see where you end up but becareful of cutting too low.
I learned the hard way of the thin line of being great to feeling like crap.

Thanks man. Yeah maybe a month cutting a few more % of fat, probably would take a month with a manageable deficit each day. I'm happy out with the progress so far but I am on the verge of feeling too skinny even though I'm just leaning out.
I will post another set of photos in one month and hopefully will have completed my cut by then. :)

Body fat guess?
Hey guys, this is my first post ever.
Started 2 month ago.
Pictures are in my profile (they are from 1st oct 2020).
Height: just over 6ft (1m84)
Weight at the time of pics: 238-240lbs (108kg)
Age: 26
I had lost about 22lbs (10kg) at the time of pic already in 2 months.
Any guess is welcome thanks,
Personally I think 29-32% or more?
Also do you think I got gyno?? :(
My chest feels soft when I touch it, but got bit of muscle nowadays, so I have no idea.
