5’11-6’0, 205lbs 29 year old here who has been out of the bodybuilding game for a while and has no idea how to re-start my bodybuilding journey. Could you please have a look at the photo on my dashboard..What do you estimate my body fat percentage to be, and should I start clean bulking or cutting?
Thanks
You need to post a better, more complete picture than that if you want any kind of accurate estimate.
Like it says in the first post in this thread...
Hi guys could I get an estimate on latest pics in my body space please?

Any more opinions on my body fat please? I've had one say 24% and another say 14-15 lol. And bulk or cut?

I would say around 20% but that’s just me estimating. If it were me, I would wait until I got to 10-14% before lean bulking.

19-20% and cut down to 12% before bulking.

I would really appreciate your best bf% estimate for me.
Back to the gym post lockdown, currently on maintenance for the past month till I get back to my old numbers and reassess.
After that, lean bulk or cut? Not quite 12% BF yet (I guess), but also too skinny as well. Really confusing for us skinny fat guys...
Any advice appreciated. I'm running Fierce 5 btw.
I attach multiple recent pics, both flexed and unflexed, and 2 different types of lighting.
Thanks!

I didn't know this thread existed, as this is only my second post.
I'm 5'10, 156lbs, and 35 years old. My scale says 11% but I have no idea and am seriously doubting it,
I do have some vascularity showing, and upper and middle abs when I first wake. Thoughts?

Loose skin makes it harder to narrow down.

Thanks and that makes a lot more sense to me!
I definitely see a big change from where I was over the last two months but got more work to do.

I don't think it is loose skin. I just completely decimated my love handles and "loose skin" it is just fat. I wouldn't argue with Luclin999 if I didn't see it for myself. Even my cousin said. "I never thought that were possible" I'll post updates of my 3 month cut in a month or so, but it ain't loose skin. I believe if you lost fat in the same areas and rate as I do "which is more or less unlikely" You have about 5-7 more lbs of pure fat to lose for all that to tighten up.
Let me also say that you would be better off trying to build your base up as cutting won't make you look very good cause you still have a long way to go till you have enough muscle to cut down. I would guess you are around 15-17%

He has some loose skin. I know from experience what that "droop" looks like.
Fortunately for him, he hasn't let it get as bad as I did before starting to work on correcting it so there is a chance at least that his will tighten back up enough to not be really noticeable if he stays lean. While I'll be stuck with my droopy skin pretty much forever. That is why he should get lean now rather then start bulking up as getting rid of the fat he still has will start the process for the skin to recover a bit rather than adding more fat back in and keeping it inflated longer.

Sure maybe he has a tiny bit. I had that same droop 5 weeks ago. I would struggle with it mentally but it was just some fat pulling down on the skin. When I leaned up more the droop went away.
One of the biggest copes I went through was listening to others tell me my fat was just loose skin. Real loose skin is very different than fat. Pull it, how long does it take to snap back? 1 second or a few seconds? I hope it is more encouraging to hear my anecdotal response.

Mine is definitely "loose skin".
It hangs lower than it should and as the fat has been going down the lower stomach and back have ending up looking like wrinkled, droopy, deflated bags.
Thus my advice to Steveo. He needs to get lean now and let the skin recover as much as it can while the problem is still manageable rather than adding more weight on and potentially stretching it out further. Because the longer the skin is out of shape, the less likely it is to return completely back to where it was before.

Not trying to step on your toes. I finally applied what I was preaching for so long and who would have thought it actually works!
But how it is done is the real challenge.

Any estimate on my BF% change? I’m thinking maybe 30%-24%.

also, does it look like I have mild gyno?

I'd guess around 18ish% and ask your doctor if you think you might have gyno, but it just looks like an under developed chest to me.

Thanks for that- you were pretty spot on. I just had a scan done and it read 19.8%.
Also, my skeletal muscle mass was 43kg of my total 93kg body mass (47%) which apparently is pretty good. Does this mean it’s definitely time for a slow cut to try to bring that muscle out? Or would a recomposition be better seem I only just started training and dieting seriously again?

"Recomps" and other attempts to gain mass while at a little to no surplus are probably the most difficult transition from fat to fit to pull off and even when done right are generally slow. If it were me, I would drop down to at least the sub-15% range before attempting to do anything else.

Thought I’d see what you guys reckon my BF is, I can’t post a link but there’s a pic on my profile if you could look at that please?

Hello - just looking for a percentage estimate. I really appreciate the consistent help with this, it keeps me on track haha.
I also have a hard time with lighting -- any suggestions on the most 'accurate lighting' that one should take these photos in?
