Body Fat Judgement
Hey guys, new to the bodybuilding forum. I started my journey on bodybuilding 6 months ago and I saw many of you guys saying that body composition measuring machines are inaccurate. I'm currently 16 years old and to all of you reading this message, judge my body fat! Thanks!

I’ve lost around 60lbs in last year or so, as of now I’m 5”11, 206lbs, what is my estimated bf, and how more should I lose to get to around 12-15% bf?

Bit hard to tell from those pictures, but I’d say 16-18%.

Not sure why you're cutting when you should be bulking to put on some muscle. I'd do a lean bulk tbh...
You're anywhere between 12-16% I would "assume". You don't have much fat mid section and I can see your ribs... Put some weight on with a lean bulk. That will help build muscle and keep fat gains lower. Takes longer, but you'll be straight if you can keep that up for another year.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think I am lean enough now to start a lean bulk? I was simply getting too fat and saw no weight progression anymore. Please see attached pic of how i looked in early 2017.

You have more of a base now to where a lean bulk would be beneficial. The before photo looks like maybe you were dirty bulking a bit, not eating so clean.
If you track calories on a lean bulk surplus of 300 calories over maintenance to start and keep track of your macros, you'll see some nice progress as the months go by. Remember that once you start gaining you'll have to adjust your calories and macros a bit to your new weight.
I'd aim for half a lb per week.. That 2 lbs per month..

If I cut some more weight, while I have a "normal" 6 pack or will they always be odd looking?

You can’t change the shape of your abs. You can make them bigger and you can get leaner, but they’ll always be asymmetrical.
I’d focus on building muscle tbh.

Hi all,
I'm starting my cut full on from tomorrow but I'm having trouble understanding my body fat %, I'm not convinced by the accuracy of the online calculators.
Would anybody be able to provide me with a rough guesstimate on my body fat % and how much I'd need to lose to start bulking?
I'm 33 years old, 5,9 and roughly 180lbs.
My plan is to do fierce 5 programe Monday, Wednesday, Friday, HIIT cardio Tuesday, Thursday and steady state run on Sunday.
I'm thinking I'll also do 10 min cadio before training and 10-15 mobs HIIT on the treadmill immediately following training - is that too much. I've also considered trying to speed up the fat loss process by doubling up sessions, i.e. Cardio AM, weights PM 3 days per week and just cardio on the others.
Pictures are in my bio as I can't embed or link yet any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan.

You're roughly 30% I would assume..
Your stats are the same as mine, but I am 20 lbs lighter...
Your goal weight should be under 170 for the short term.. If you lost roughly 15-25 lbs, you'd probably come down between 20-25% BF and be at a healthy weight.
That's just my guess though.
I have roughly 24% BF. If I were to cut, I would end up weighing around 147 lbs just to get to about 18-20% BF and there's no way in hell I would want to be that light. That would put me skinny with no muscle.
Definitely do a small cut and focus on building muscle.

30% I’d cut to about 150 before bulking. Yeah, you’ll be skinny, but it will be better to get the fat loss over with than it will be to try to bulk when you’re still overweight.

I'd say the first pic is either a fairly good angle or lighting for the abs, the 2nd is more neutral:

7 months bulk finished, gone from 185 to 208 (7 pounds in the last week due to overdoing it at Christmas, at least half of the 7 pounds will be water weight). Would like a BF estimate to give me an idea of the damage done over the last 7 months before I start my cut next week.

Anyone who can estimate mine? Not flexing in the photo.
Reason asking is because I can't really get abs to show, only in good lightning, wondering if I should lose more fat or just hit the gym a bit more

Thanks, that's a worst case of 5% added fat, or 10 of the 23 pounds I added, I'll take that, and hope I can keep most of the lean mass I added on the cut.

About 12-13% Your abs look good given your level of development. I’d work on building muscle now so that when you cut, you have more to cut down to.

Cut what? You’re about 10% now, the lack of abs is from not having enough muscle.

Really? I thought I was around 15%. That would explain why I haven't been able to lose weight. But my caliper on my stomach is still 9 mms.

Caliper readings aren’t very accurate. They’re fine for trends, e.g. if you’re getting leaner or fatter, but that’s about it.

the key is putting in the effort and making sure you have good mind muscle connection last year at the end of my bulk i was the same weight i am now 180 but over 20% BF i put on way more fat than muscle this time around seems to be the opposite. it takes time and your most likely not going to get where you want to be any time soon but dont let that discouraging just keep pushing through. also for me its cold af all winter so i see no reason (unless your really fat) to cut until spring because no ones going to see it
