Has anyone as fat as me ever done this? From looking at the thread, I didn't see anyone.
I'm 280 now. Was 250 when I started working out at the start of June. My measurements have gotten smaller, so I know it's mostly muscle. My muscle tone was minimal compared to the average person, as my muscles were zapped from the stroke. Since I have to GAIN muscle just to get to where the average person would start, that likely accounts for such a drastic increase in weight. I'm also 35.
I don't mean to be rude, but gaining weight is not the right thing for you and it was not the right thing to do when you were 250. You should stop it RIGHT NOW! If you think that gaining 30 lbs in 4 months is mostly muscle, I must say you are mistaken. Your body fat % is in 40+ category and only thing you should be doing is losing weight.

This may have been a mistake. Few people here understand what's actually happened to my body. The stroke combined with laying in bed for months atrophied all of my muscles. I'm rebuilding them. I appreciate the body fat estimate, really I do, but I had much less muscle tone when I started than a normal person does. I mean, I STILL can't walk normal, and nothing is wrong with my coordination. Though I continue to improve.
My diet is superb; I meet my protein and fat minimums everyday, but I keep a calorie deficit at the same time. I drink 8 bottles of water a day. I weigh and log everything I eat. I eat vegetables everyday.
Believe it or not, I'm much thinner than I used to be. I continue to lose inches while gaining actual weight, so...it has to be muscle. I'm not psyched about gaining 30 pounds either, but my measurements continue to decrease.
What do you guys think? I got no clue (maybe 20%?)

Started my journey few years ago @ 215lbs. Cut down to 168lbs, weak w/ no muscle. Found out I have hypothyroidism (still dialing correct levo dose, but close). Then constantly went back and forth between cutting and bulking for about a year, some strength gains made. Currently tracking a cut for 8 weeks now @ 2150cals (started cut @ 181lbs), hitting heavy weights 5-6 days/week. ~10-20 min. steady state cardio 2 days/week. I know im still carrying quite a bit of fat, but feeling small haha.
Thanks guys, appreciate the help!

Please guess my body fat %! Tips to lose stomach fat?
And do I have any muscle? Am I just skinny, or toned? etc.
Hello, I am 53, 5'8" and on I began my journey to get in shape in May. On May 1, 2018 weighed 225 lbs. As of October 13, 2018 weighed in at 188 lbs. I would like a few serious estimates on what my BF% currently is and what I should concentrate on at this point. Thanks all.
Hello everyone.
I've been bulking now for the past two months and while my strength has increased significantly, so has without a doubt my bf%.
What I want to know is how bad is it, should I start cutting or can I continue my bulk?
I'm currently at 195 lbs/88 kg and 5'10 feet/ 180 cm
40 cm/16 inch biceps
65 cm/ 25 inch thighs
90 cm/ 35 inch waist (86 cm/33.8 inch around the navel)
40 cm/ 16 inch neck
Thanks for any input in advance.

Below are photos from today. What do you feel my body fat is now and overall physique for the last year? Not gonna lie, Ive just looked at the photos from 1 year to now, they dont feel too impressive in. I envisioned myself as Hercules by now.
Edit- how to prevent photos from going sideways on the forum? On my MacBook and iPhone they are up and down, but some of them have been getting rotated for no rhyme or reason.
Hiya, I know I've got a long way to go still, but would like an idea of where I'm currently at.
I've lost 42lbs so far and have just recently started to introduce a weightlifting program whilst maintaining the cutting calories/macros/cardio.
I'm 5 foot 8.5 inches, 221lbs and my waist measurement is 32.5 inches. My photos are in the gallery on my body space.
I used a body composition scale which suggested my bf% is 41 - but I think that could be too low. I had a rough go at the Durnin womersley calipers method which suggested around 48% but I know that both of those methods can be unreliable. I'm very pear shaped and I feel like that can potentially affect those kind of methods?
Thanks for any ideas
Can I get an estimate please? the one in July was around 13-14%, but think I’ve moved the niddle down a little...

Hey guys, I hope you're having a good day. I'm looking for a body fat percentage estimate just to see where I'm at right now. I'm currently just over 14 years old around 140ish pounds, and am 5'9. I started at 27% body fat around 150 pounds, so I just want to see where I'm currently sitting at. Appreciate it!
looking for estimations, am 142 lbs at about 5'9 height. appreciate it

This was me a few months ago at the end of my first successful cut with a little under 1-year lifting experience. At the time I was on PSMF, so I had minimal water weight. Calipers gave me an estimate of 13%. Would like really appreciate some other estimates on my first time trying to get lean.

I would say between 12-13% you can see the outline of the six pack, solid cut to be honest.

As its post workout yes 10% is solid if relaxed possible 9% due to your weight.

You look leaner to me especially the year ago one either through cutting or gaining muscle. Just monitor your weight and keep going either way based on your goals. As for bf% 12-13 is good base.

About 17-18% but it doesn't matter if you are 14 as you say above you should not be trying to cut weight through lowering calories just work out hard and stay active through any exercise and let time do the rest you won't regret it.

I would say close to 20-22% I would say. Very little sign of core showing but a good solid base I would say cut until you are happy with your look in mirror then lean bulk. Remember bulks are best done slowly 1-2lb MAX a month.
Hello, I am 53, 5'8" and on I began my journey to get in shape in May. On May 1, 2018 weighed 225 lbs. As of October 13, 2018 weighed in at 188 lbs. Very good muscle amount. I would say 14 - 15% due to having visible core muscles. It is down to you really if you want to have that ripped look (six pack) then cut about 4% body fat and you will look solid. If you want to gain even more muscle do a slow lean bulk and look again in 6-12 months as long as you keep fat levels low on the bulk.

I would estimate at 16% as you have a outline of a good core muscles. You are definitely in the toned scale I wouldn't lose anymore weight I would suggest adding a bit more muscle/ weight will offer a better overall image. As for stomach fat lose I would not be concerned you have very minimal by gaining muscle especially through compound weight lifting (squats, deadlifts etc) you will increase your core size therefore more defined abs etc.
Hi guys! I need your help
I’ve just posted some new photos in my bodyspace (fat albums).
I’ve been continuing cutting some weight and now I am 61kg 170 cm.
My body is ok now but my stomach.

Especially when I bend (second photo)
Could you tell me my new body fat and if Now I’m starting a very slow bulking but I’d appreciate a body fat estimation
Thanks in advance

I'd say you're in the 10-15% BF area right now. I'd keep bulking for a few weeks and maybe do a one or two week mini cut mixed in just to keep your body on the guessing game.

I would say around 16 -17% as abs only just starting to become outlined. Losing fat from stomach area on men is usually the hardest. If you are lean bulking remember to monitor calories and only have a enough surplus to grow (200-300 calories above maintenance calories) 1-2lb per month, this will minimize fat gains.

Tad difficult but I would say about 13-14% as abs are limited in terms of visibility however you very solid defined back. So possibly a little bit lower.

About 15-16% as you only have some fat on your belly (where most men store it) it really is up to your own goals I don't think cutting down to 10% (aka the percentage on men for visible abs for most) will show much defined abs. However if you cut a bit more maybe to the 12-13% (should see some abs when flexed nicely) then start a long bulk that would be the best option in my opinion. That would allow you to see visible muscle gains when you start lean bulking.
BF%? How many more weeks of cutting until I can slow bulk?
Can someone give me a bf estimate? I am 5'11 135 lbs, trying to lean bulk to 150 gaining .5 lbs a week, need to know my bf% to input into the macro calculator.

About 18% as very little core is showing.

I would say you are about 9% maybe a touch lower seeing your weight is quite low, you have great V shape and clear outline of 6 pack, very impressive for your long bulk.
BF%? How many more weeks of cutting until I can slow bulk?
About 22%. In terms of weeks it is down to what you want as a physique. If you want to see the muscles you will be building you will need to cut to the 12-14% range before bulking, if you want clear strong abs it would be 10% about. If none of that is important and only building muscle (which are not defined) and strength is important you need to cut to 15-17% so on the safe side 10-12 weeks with 1-2 pounds lost per week is maintainable. Longer then 12 weeks if you want good definition. I would just cut fat until I am happy with my physique then lean bulk.
Looks like there is some activity on this thread now.
Would someone care to give me some feedback?

Great muscle amount I would say you are about 14-15% bf only really have fat on your belly, solid back. If you cut more I think you would have solid core there is some loose skin which may stop visible full six pack (lower abs) however a solid upper pack is clearly possible. The choice is really yours you could cut for some abs aiming for 10-12% bf and you would look rather ripped (take weight loss slowly to maintain muscle) maybe except lower abs or very slowly lean bulk for extra muscle which can aid in stretching loose skin either way is fine for you. Great work.

Very good weight lose. To be 15-17% more fat lose will be required its surprising how low your body weight will be at lower fat percentages so don't really worry about body weight too much keep going until you are happy with the mirror then slowly lean bulk with 1-2 lbs a month gained.

New pictures confirm to me what I thought earlier on your request around 10% maybe 9% as you are quite light weight wise. Unflexed pictures may help better estimate but not really important as you are already lean.

Thanks, guys. I will take 9 as the answer. At the end of the day, it is a rough estimation! :-) 9% sounds like a decent starting place anyway.
Appreciate all estimates of bf%! Currently 167 lbs, 6ft, 33 years old.

About 14-15% as you can start to see the core outline. You could do either, if you dropped more fat you could do a longer bulk but I personally don't think its really worth it. I would say lean bulk gain some muscle and cut later after gaining some mass.

5’7 150 21yo I’ve been lifting for 7 months slightly under maintenance since. I’m currently doing 5/3/1 and my lifts are 210 bench, 125 ohp, 255 squat ( estimate since I haven’t tried to increase until my hip impingment clears up) and 275 dL.
So the magical 10% remains ilusive:) wonder what I need to do to get there... is it just time?!
Yet it is so close. I personally find aiming for a bf% is helpful but not a full picture as there is no way (except autopsy and we don't want to use that :-) ) to 100% predict bf. Not to mention I personally would prefer a solid flexible bf (between 11-15%) as long as I look good with visible abs unflexed that to me tells me that I have gained good solid muscle and can enjoy normal day day to life without forever worried about what I eat. So if you feel 10% is what you want then a few more pounds would have you touching it (should usually start to see lower abs) you clearly know what to do. If you are happy with how you look which I must say is a great physique its your choice to maintain or gain slowly and get bigger.

About 13-14% my guess you have the start of the top abs showing. You do lack a bit of muscle which may effect your look and will make estimates difficult, so going lower then 10% I would not recommend if you are planning to look defined, but of course the choice is yours.

You are about 20%. I would recommend cutting to about 13-15% then lean bulking. If you are still losing weight you can carry on cutting slightly under maintenance like a form of body recomp if not you will need to drop calories to lose more fat.

I am 5' 7'', and I've been watching my weight the past week and it fluctuates between 152-154. I believe I may be categorized as "Skinny- fat"?
I am looking to build muscle and get leaner. Along with resistance training, where do I start? Cutting? Bulking? Or maintenance caloric intake? What would be a reasonable time period for either the cut/bulk/maintain?
Thanks!
6'2 170. Lost 40 pounds through cardio over the past year, and am curious on my bf%. Been lifting for about two months now, and I'm up 7 pounds from where I started. I have really neglected core though. If I were to grind core as much as everything else, would abs cut through, or do I need to lose a bit more fat?
