Well ideally a good idea of what my bf is.... Tthats what the sub is for, I can then use that to see how much progress I've made and gauge how long I potentially need to keep cutting before reaching my goal.
So just eat clean and lift, should recomp pretty decent. is 17 hard to get down to 12 in all actuality? this is me not doing anything for like 5 years. Just hate being so weak and same weight just recomped from toned to, well. pure pudge. I thought recomp was only something new lifters could do. But i guess i am new again since ive had so much time off.
Since you're returning to lifting (vs. being a new lifter), it shouldn't be that hard for you. You should be back to form in a few months, IME.

Hey, everyone! To make a really long story short, I have completely changed my life. Between January 2016 and yesterday afternoon, I have lost nearly 102 pounds! I went from 300.4 to 198.6 in the span of 18 months. I did this entire lifestyle change on my own, and received a lot of misinformation along the way; as a result, strength training only recently (as of May 2017) became part of my daily regiment. I was focused so much on getting down to a "healthy" BMI number that I completely ignored what my BF% was.
What would you all estimate my BF% to be? I am 6'2", 198.6 pounds. Also, do you think that I could potentially lose this excess fat by next summer? Thank you in advance for the information!
EDIT: I'm not sure why that first picture is turned sideways! I certainly didn't take it that way.

I can't seem to break this plateau/barrier. I feel like my body composition hasn't changed in a couple of years! Perhaps if I can start with a bf%, I can set some more concrete goals.
EDIT: I'm about 5'8.5", 180-185lbs

I'd say around 23%. It's hard to tell from the pictures angles.

Probably about 10%. You need more muscle to get better definition. I'd lean bulk for the next year at a minimum (maybe 18 months).

I'd say 30%. You're just eating too much. Hit the weights hard and cut at least 30lbs. Then you'll be in a much better position to put on more muscle.

Hi
i've been cutting for 2 months now.
At first i was doing keto in a bigger deficit and right now i am maintaining my weight at around 2500cal/per day eating mostly fats and protein (and a lot of veggies) and carbs ONLY AFTER weight training.
My plan is to maintain this for a couple of months (maybe shreed down just a little bit with clen in a month or so,but will see) and then go on a lean bulk.
What do u guys think about bf,please opinion on this..thanks
BTW i am 177cm/75kg on this pic

That photo's kind of washed out, making it hard to tell. Looks like 17%. It doesn't look like you have enough muscle development for abs yet.
-
I'd guess 11-13%. Not much fat, but muscle mass so low makes it harder to go much lower on body fat.
Thanks for reply dude i'm gonna keep attempting to get lower i'm following a good program just hopefully i can add the tiny little bit of mass and get around 10%.
Once again thanks anymore tips would be greatly appreciated.

End of my bulk. Started October last year 185 today 205 5'6

I think I do because when I flex I can see the bottom abs but not as clear as the top two , and btw last year I started bulking at 16-17% last year (biggest mistake of my life I gained mostly fat ) that's why i recommend other people to first get down to 10-12% first no matter how low muscle mass you have because when you bulk your nutrition partitioning and insulin sensitivity and testosterone is higher so = better muscle growth and you look good most/all of the year if you keep your bulks between 8-15% instead of getting fat but that's just my opinion

Just curious to see how far off my macro requirements are since I based them on my total weight, not lean body mass, when I weighed around 205 pounds. 35 years old, male, 5' 7", 171 pounds in these photos:

Just wondering if I could get anymore input. Also, for a woman that doesn't compete or anything, what is a healthy baseline body fat percentage in your opinion?
ETA: the photo is in my gallery photos, not progress. :)

I'm new here so i don't know how to post a link to my pic. So I uploaded it on my profile as current. Could someone give me an estimation on my bf% based on my current photo. I used to weigh 310lbs at 6'3 when I was 14. Dropped it all by 16. Got down to 165 but the last 3 months I've been working out. I weigh 182 at 6'4. Thankfully I don't have any loose skin folds on my lower stomach any more. It went away after i maintained my weight for 3 years and grew an inch. Only reason i ever got fat was because doc put me on risperdal

I would say 18-24% would be good. If your bf% gets too low, it can mess with your hormones.

Around 18%. I'm not sure you have enough development for solid abs yet. You will need to bulk and cut to get where you want to go. You could cut first. I'd take off 7-10lbs and then lean bulk or lean bulk now and cut later.
