So far I've bulked from 132 to 137 in about three months, my goal is to stop around 145-150. https://imgur.com/a/MXnWn
https://imgur.com/a/xMG9z
Both of these were taken around 137lbs
I'm unsure if I'm going in the right direction, but my lifts have been improving slightly so that's a good sign. On top of lifting 3x week I also do bjj 6hrs a week but I'm unsure if it will affect me trying to build muscle.

If I was going to guess I would say 14-17% depending on hydration.IMO. If you're after ascetics cut soon, if not bulk on.
Most of the time I'm well hydrated, I'm after aesthetic but I i also want to get strong as **** for my weight in bjj
Most of the time I'm well hydrated, I'm after aesthetic but I i also want to get strong as **** for my weight in bjj
If bjj has a sub 135 lb weight class, than I'd consider cutting. Otherwise, I would continue your bulk. Personally, I wouldn't bulk to a "goal weight" though. If I were you, I would probably bulk until I can no longer see that faint outline of your abs. Than I would start cutting down to 10%. Rinse and repeat.
I think the max for bantam is 137 or 139. I'm starting to feel kind of fat and not seeing that much "gains" but I've gotten stronger which is good... I'm just kinda tired going up and down with the weight.
70 inches and I weigh 181 lbs.

Hi,
where do you think I stand? Weighed this morning, 162lbs - but that was before using the restroom and after 10 days of traveling and eating too much (I was 158.5 10 days ago before my work trip).
I FINALLY have now 2 months without travels, so I can focus on losing the weight I need to before starting eating more - I will keep running and working out with weights.
How many pounds sould I aim to? Assuming the picture shows me at 162 - I would like to get to 155 by Xmas. Does it sound like a good goal or should I aim for more?
thanks!
Hello. First, I’d like to say that I’ve been a long time lurker so thanks to all of the people who post content here that have helped me along the way.
I’m a 34 year old male, 6’2” and currently 199 lbs. I’ve never really had any weight lifting experience… I’ve dabbled in doing unorganized splits with no general goal or progression in the past. Any muscle that I have is generally natural and/or through sports. I’ve always considered myself overweight because I don’t like to eat much meat and love carb heavy foods like pasta. With no workout regimen, my weight fluctuates between 180-200 depending on whether or not I get fed up and go on a temporary diet (Keto, usually).
After a knee injury in March and being sidelined from sports and hitting 208lbs, I finally decided that enough was enough and started a complete regimen once my knee healed (August). I did some research and picked stronglifts and started with just the barbell weight focusing on form (even dropping weights when I notice a form problem). I hired a personal trainer for a few weeks to review my form. I have been cutting (500 calories deficit) watching what I eat (sticking to about 2200 calories a day) although the protein requirements are the absolute minimum (usually eat about .68 of grams/lb/day). I figure that since I don’t have a whole lot of muscle to lose anyways and I’m sticking to the calories in fairly well, it shouldn’t be a big deal for now as long as I'm committed in all other areas. I workout every other day lifting weights for 1 hour and recently added 1 hour of low intensity cardio (walking on a treadmill inclined ~450 calories) on all workout days.
The goal is to drop to 10% and start bulking, as I'm sure is everyone else's goal. Ive been having second thoughts on whether or not I should continue cutting. 1) I'm starting to really struggle with Stronglifts despite there not being much weight on the bar (140 squat, 90 OHP, 200 Deadlift, 115 bench, 135 Row). I don't fail many reps, but I don't see how I'm going to make a lot more progress. 2) I still don’t see a large difference in physique and I’ve only lost 9 pounds (199lbs now) in 3 months. With little muscle, perhaps I’m wasting my time and should be adding muscle with a calorie surplus. Am I not giving it enough time?

20-22%. I’d cut another 15lbs or so and then re-evaluate.

14-16% A bit hard to tell given the loose skin. Good job on the weight loss.
I am surprised that’s what I was estimating.

You have 20 more pounds to cut.

Oh man...not what I wanted to read haha..thank you for replying, I’ve got a lot of work to do.
A BF assessment and advice on where to go next would be appreciated.
Quick history:
Started out in Feb-16 at approx 235lbs; undertook a fairly aggressive calorie deficit to Jan-17 and found myself at 160lbs but noticably lacking in any muscle tone yet maintaining a degree of fat. It was a bit of a 'junkie' look at that point.
I've tried a steady re-comp since then and I'm now 165lbs but with visibly much more muscle and slightly less fat than 10 months ago. Question is, should I cary on that steady path or go for a more aggressive cut?
So, questions:
- What body fat am I? I have an idea myself but would appreciate the impartial thoughts of others?
- Is it unusual to have an 'unbalanced' BF? As the photos show, I have very little fat on my arms but still a lot around my torsoe.
- Do I carry on a steady re-composition , aggressive cut or someting else/
Hi,
What does my body fat % look like? I'm 6'0 and currently 177. I've been cutting for a few months and incorporating strength training into my workouts.
Should I continue strength training and cardio? Or more of one and less of the other?
Thanks!
23, 6', 195lbs
The picture is about a month old. I've gain about 5 lbs since then. I do jiu jitsu 4 times a week, lift twice a week. I just started lifting abut a month ago. I ideally want to walk around at 180 but am unsure if I should keep losing fat or bulk up and add some muscle.

About 16%. Strength training is more relevant in terms of body composition, but it’s hard to give advice without actually knowing what it is you are doing.

Hi,
Can someone please tell me what BF % i am?
I am 6ft4" tall, 216lbs. I've attached a photo, this is not the best photo, but it is me completely relaxed.
I looked better / more defined when tensed though.
I have minimal fat on my legs, back or ass.
And i only have a thin ish layer of fat on my arms and chest. It seems mostly seems to be on my belly.
I can typically see Faint abs even when relaxed and these get more visible when tensed.
To make things more complex, i do suffer from a distended abdomen and enlarged organs / intestines (confirmed by doctor / MRI scan) which makes by belly stick out further than normal and make me appear fatter than i actually am.
I am solid and quite tight in arms, chest, legs and back when tensed.
I THINK it might be 22% BF, but that could be way out.
Thanks

I would say 23-25% from that picture. If you have one from the front, that would be helpful.
