If you are flexing/sucking it in in that photo (Photo is named "Flex4.jpg") then no, you are closer to 19-20% and not 15%.
BF estimates from pictures should be from a relaxed, NOT flexing/sucking it in photo.
18 y/o, 5'8, 142lbs
lost 55 lbs since May
I have been in a big caloric deficit for awhile now, a few months ago I started working out.
Should I cut or bulk at this bf%?

Would appreciate some help. Trying to cut down currently to 152. According to my nutrisionist measurments he has me at 15%bf (LIE) and 147 pounds of lean muscle and 25 pounds of fat.
looks like 20% to me
So doing the math 10% bf would be at 155, if i only lost fat (which i know is not how it works). Just trying to figure out what weight range i should cut to; prob between 145-150? Thx in advance sir

I mean, just cut until you’re happy with how you look... no reason to slap a number on it...
42 YO, 175cm, 84kg. Been on deficit for a month or so and would like to hit 10-12 if possible. Pics are on BodySpace under progress - sorry they are side on! All pictures fully relaxed :)

Posting after a while! 5’9 200lbs here. Cut down from 255 last January. If I had to self estimate I’d probably say 28%.

Looking to cut till I hit 10-12%, hopefully within the year.
Let me know what you guys think... thanks!

I’m no expert but I’d say 10-12%. A bit hard to tell because the image quality is a bit poor and the lighting is not amazing either so there is some variation from picture to picture. But around 11% if you split the difference seems fair to call. Solid physique dude.

Why? 500-700 is plenty
Why? 500-700 is plenty
It is, I would just like to lose as quickly as is safe, that’s all. I understand 5-7 is good, especially at lower body fat levels, but at high levels I had heard that you can go into a steeper deficit as the body is more willing to burn fat if you have a lot, without sacrificing lean mass.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not wanting to rush the process, as I know that leads to bad results, but I want to be as time efficient as possible. Assuming I want to get to 12 percent, this means I need to lose 7 kg of fat. I’m currently dropping around 0.5kg a week, on average, so another 14 weeks is a slog, that’s all.
May anyone tell me what my body fat percentage is?
I'm 5'10, 165.50lbs.
I can't decide whether to do Fierce 5 (I have beginner strength and would love mass gain) or cut with Allpro (I've been told by family and friends I have a noticeable small beer gut, but that's probably because I don't stand straight, and little neck fat, which annoys me).

And thank you!

And in your honest opinion (I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this here), should I try to go through with a cut (Even if my lifts are more on the low side)?

To be honest, you're in a position where I think starting at maintenance makes more sense.
What will usually happen is that you'll recomp to a degree because you're fairly new and not holding much muscle. You'll likely end up dropping like 4-5% bodyfat simply because you gain some lean tissue, water, and glycogen over the first 3-6 months.
From there, I think it'll be more clear what you'll want to do.
I don't advise 'cutting' for newbies unless their bodyfat is high enough that it's seriously having a negative impact on their health.
In your case, you're young, you're not technically overweight, and you have so much room to grow that it just doesn't make sense.
So yeah... I'd say eat around maintenance and get on a good starter program. Don't expect HUGE changes in scale weight or anything, just focus on getting stronger and increasing lean mass.
After you ring out the first 6 months or go, you'll likely see much better definition and shape, and you'll also probably lose some fat % in the process naturally.
From there, once you've have more time to see how you respond, you can decide if you should do a slow cut or not.

Thank you so much for the response!
I think (strong "I think" here) I'm eating at maintenance at around 2000 calories because my weight has stayed the same for the past two weeks when working with allpros.
However, I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Fierce 5 program instead and see how it goes with the maintenance since the program helps with both mass and strength for beginners.
The other issue I guess would be my brain bothering me not going on a cut to lose much more body fat. But I'll see how it goes.
I started the year at 161lbs and trying to cut down my body fat. I don't have a particular target in mind but would like to lose enough to see some proper definition. Could someone please estimate my body fat %?

You’re definitely below 20% you just have excess skin....
Honestly I’d put you at ~13%. The skin throws it off.
Awesome work!!
Hey guys, just wanted to add my grain of salt. Usted to be obese (over 220), my life was out of control and I thought id never be able to do something about it. Change comes when you embrace your situation and decide to stop bit***** and actually do someting about it. Some before and after pictures, still have a long way to go but getting there. If u feel like quitting just remember time will move with or without you, so use it to achieve your goals. Hope this helps anyone who needs it!
What would you guys estimate my BF at?
I wanna get down to 11-13%-or-so to mid-July.
You think I should start off by immediately cutting or lean bulking (and then cutting)?
Weight: 80kg

About 20.
Time to lift heavy and put on some mass!
Thank you , should I go 300-500 cal above maintenance or just eat at maintenance cuz I have no muscle at all in my upper I read its best to go for body recomposition? thing is Im scared of putting more fat ,I store fat easily in my belly and mostly there. I do mostly calisthenics , just a little bit of lifting with my dumbbells' at home(Covid problem for now cant go to gym ) .

Thanks, I was doing Fierce 5 previously but where I live, all of the gyms are closed. I'm in the process of getting all the equipment for a home gym. In the meantime I've been doing a variety of workouts I've found online but not really stuck to one plan. If you have any suggestions for a home workout plan then that'd be great.

You mean a home workout plan without weights?
Chin Ups
Weighted Push Ups
Lunges with a backpack
Dips
Get some bands and some water jugs for added weight... you won't make a TON of progress without added resistance but it's better than nothing.

Thanks for the reply man pretty stoked to hear that.
I see you answer a lot of q's on here for people so I figured I would ask here instead of a thread, but do you think another 8 weeks is too long to cut? I've been on a pretty deep calorie cut but have been doing loads of volume trying to switch up between heavy and light days to limit muscle loss. I'm not so much getting burnt out on the food part of the cut, but have been def been feeling the drain at the gym the last couple weeks lol.

Well, how long have you been dieting and how much weight have you lost? How much are you eating?
The real question is: how do YOU feel about how you look? That's all that matters...

You’re not 20%... maybe 15%
You just need to start eating and lifting heavy.
Get on a good beginner program like Fierce 5 Novice and eat in a reasonable surplus
Hi All,
Height: 5 10
Weight: 178
Waist: 32-33
Pictures are on profile.
I have been dying to know what my bodyfat is at. I just cut down from 207 and am sitting at 178. I'm guessing between 12-15% most calculators and tests I do pin me in that range. Although I know how unreliable those can be. I know that's a big range, but what do you guys think? I'm sick of cutting and I want to start bulking so bad. My lifts have stayed the same and have not noticed much loss of strength at all.
Thank you to anyone that offers their thoughts!
