Yeah maybe a tad less so 17-18% would be correct I would say.
Hi all,
I've been cutting for roughly 6 months and managed to go from 202.8lb down to 130lb. I didn't have much muscle mass to begin with so I went overboard with a daily 1000kcal deficit while managing my macros. I'm considering switching to bulking at this point, but would like an estimate of my body fat %, the gym scale states I'm at 7% but I very much doubt it. It's difficult to gauge visually since I still have some amount of loose skin. I believe I can theoretically continue cutting, but I'm definitely starting to feel the effects of being underweight, I feel weak and lethargic most of the time and feel faint when I get up too fast.

I have you around 10%. You should bulk not cut anymore.
Well I am the new Guy here :P, please be kind because this is my first post, I'm 5.5 and 163lb and i have a question is this percentage good to maintain to start gaining some muscle or should i lower my fat % more
Thank you all for your kind responses. btw i'm 47 yo
15-16% would be my guess as well. Nope you are fine to lean bulk if you wish just aim to add about 1.5-2lbs a month with a 200 calorie surplus of maintenance TDEE.
Hey guys

Untrained and fairly lean usually means a bf% of 15, in your case maybe 0.5-1% lower. A surplus close to maintenance, aka leanbulk seems adequate.

About 13-14%BF with decent mass and slightly uneven fat distribution. Might need further core developement before fully reaping the benefits of cutting for abs. I'd still recommend gaining more mass, by a small surplus unless you are eager to lean down for the summer.

I see, thanks for the input. I was guessing 13 - 14%. Would it not be more beneficial that I commit to a 500 cal surplus bulk to reap my noob gains for a couple of months? I figured lean bulking would be a bit slow for a complete beginner.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking I was closer to 18-20%! So I’m surprised. I think I’m going to start a lean bulk as I’m not worried about leaning down for summer. Thanks for the advice.

Nah I think about 300kcal will be enough (eating more only piles on fat at a faster rate), but IRL you could settle for a weight gain of 1-2lbs/month. You might want to look at weekly averages of daily weigh-in values to make sure you're on the right course as waterweight can shift on a day-to-day basis.

Seems to be loose skin and some fat aswell. I'd say in the range 17-19%BF.

My profile photo (same photo is also under Progress Photos->Current) has an unflexed picture of me standing.
Some stats:
5'10
184lbs (approx 84kg)
34.5in (approx 87.5cm) waist
35 yrs old
I'm trying to get an estimate of my body fat to measure out macros and estimate fat loss. I've used an USN Body Fat cal and I got with it 17%... which I'm doubting after seeing photos of others at 17%. What do you guys think?

So, how do I get rid of the loose skin?
So, how do I get rid of the loose skin?
What you can do is fill it out with muscle when going for a bulk. You also have the benefit of still being young, so some/most of it will likely draw back.

Blurry pic, but looks to be around 18% or so. You seem to have good amounts of muscle there!

Well a bit higher than that, but not by much... maybe 19%BF.
