maybe 16-17%?
Agreed. Closer to 17 tho.
So I’ve been bulking or recomping basically since January. I was really sick with kidney crap from autoimmune crap in December and lost a bunch of weight and strength. I went down to 90 lbs now my kidneys are better after a medication and a few treatments while I was in the hospital for three weeks.
I’m up 12-14lbs to about 102-104 and some how I look way leaner.
I’m thinking I was holding water because my kidneys were only working at about 40-50% of what they normally would. Lupus sucks. Flare or what ever is over and I think I have been able to gain muscle but with the weight gain it’s interesting my bf looks like it has gone down? I’m on 2300 cals a day 120 G protein minimum and 60 g of fat

I’m thinking I’m around 12%?
I'm not familiar with guessing female BF but you are very, very lean. Down to essential fats.

Can you give me an estimate? Picture is in bodyspace.
Current weight 180 pounds, height 6.
Im trying only to get ripped and as fast/best possible. Have upto 3-4 hours a day now for gym and or excercise. Never been actually "ripped", thats why i want it now as a primary objective because been trying to get there for years but now I actually have the dedication to go through.
Thanks
Edit: if this shows my age as 51 its actually 35, i made an error and fixing it.

Ok, I wanted to ask. I would say 12% is as good as estimate as any.
Clearly you're working hard.

You've lost some weight man! Some loose skin makes it hard to tell. Legs look great and seeing some vascularity in the arms. I'm no expert and I tend to estimate higher than others but I'm going to say 16-18%. It might be lower but skin is hiding it.
Either way, you have been working at it! Keep it up.

Your May 19 pics, to me, look around 13.5%
Height: 6ft
Weight: 169 lbs
Waist: 34 inch
Low muscle mass and high fat on belly area
Pics in progress photo.
Also my age is 21 not 51 Xd

You know… at second glance…
I think it could be a little lower…
Closer to 12.5 maybe…
Either way looking solid

Thank you for taking the time to look again. You were probably closer with 13.5%, IMO. Either way, I feel good about adding some calories, which is always exciting.
Thanks for the compliment!

You definitely carry most of it in the belly. Arms and upper back look pretty lean. I would say still approx 20%. Kind of a tough one.
Looking for BF estimate on both pics
5'10
189->159
EDIT: ty for response!
Do you think i should cut or bulk? I’ve been bulking for the past two weeks and its making it worse

Nice work man.
I'd say you went from about 30-32% to about 17%
Do you think i should cut or bulk? I’ve been bulking for the past two weeks and its making it worse
That's a big kettle of worms to open up. Depends on how you want to look. If you want to be leaner, you're going to have to move more or eat less.
If you're just starting, one might say you should be able to still build some muscle while in a slight deficit. You'll build more muscle bulking but you'll get fatter.
Pretty stoked to be seeing abs for the first time in my life. Definitely got a ways to go before my goal of 10% though but happy with the journey. Last time I posted here I was estimated at around 18% (shoutout Adam!). Would appreciate some updated estimates!

I'd say 12-13% based on that one photo probably
Before
5 foot 5, 172 lbs
Current
5 foot 5, 129 lbs
3/4 of the fat loss occured since mid December 2020
Thank you!

Amazing work man. 35% down to 20-22ish % is my guess. Harder to tell with your vacuum pose. Might have lost a little muscle going that quick, and water weight for sure.

Would agree. There is some skin hiding the lower abs. Solid 13%

Thanks for your thoughts. Fun fact: I actually have gained strength not lost it during this cut. Though I know muscle is impossible not to lose in a cut. So go figure that pickle.
Once I lose another 4 lbs I'm going to do a full body composition analysis. It kind of boggles my mind that even though I look better than my last check-in and have lost more visible fat, the bf estimate I hear hasn't changed. I'm really curious to see how the proof matches the pudding.
I know of course everyone means well, but to me 20-22 seems high when I see that range on pics like attached. I probably sound like a broken record, but I'd have guessed 18-19 by now.
In any event, as small as I am now- how far away can I really be from 15-16 percent? Maybe my pics seem like I'm bigger or wider but I'm a small stature dude with a thin bone frame.

I have the opinion you can gain muscle and certainly strength in a cut depending on the deficit and bf%; though some might not agree, it's not impossible.
It's possible you are lower than 20%. Remember, I am going off of one picture. No side pose, no relaxed new pose. No back pose, no legs pose.
Gotta give me a +/- 1-2% estimate minimum here.
;)
However, based on the one photo you sent, I'm not seeing sub-20% definition. Maybe someone else has an opinion.
Good work regardless.

The pictures you shared in that example chart have ranges that are WAY too big
You can’t have one picture for everything between 15 and 20%

One big issue with the picture of him is that he’s stretching upward and not flexing his abs…
I agree with your assessment based on the pose he’s taking… I don’t see sub 20% based on that.
However, sometimes when people suck in, they lose all an definition because their insertions are shallow
I’d want to see him crunch his abs in and not stretch them out, or at least tense them slightly
