Thanks man! Appreciate the reply. I hope to get as lean as you one day, but that's hard work to get that low. Major props.
Naw man, honestly i struggled with an eating disorders for over a decade... i'm actually pushing really hard to bulk right now.
If you think this is lean, you'd be shocked what it was like when I was truly emaciated. Being fit > being shredded.
But that being said, it just takes time... honestly, you look great as it is!
You’re not 20%... maybe 15%
You just need to start eating and lifting heavy.
Get on a good beginner program like Fierce 5 Novice and eat in a reasonable surplus
Thank you so much for the workout plan and estimate I truly do appreciate it!

I have been dying to know what my bodyfat is at. I just cut down from 207 and am sitting at 178. I'm guessing between 12-15% most calculators and tests I do pin me in that range. Although I know how unreliable those can be. I know that's a big range, but what do you guys think? I'm sick of cutting and I want to start bulking so bad. My lifts have stayed the same and have not noticed much loss of strength at all.
Thank you to anyone that offers their thoughts!
thats a lot of weight to lose and maintain your lifts. Good job! How long was your cut? I’m guessing you went slow? Do you know how much you lost per week? I’m really surprised your strength hasn’t gone down. What was your cutting cals and cardio?
And I agree with Adam ^ 12ish%

Remind me why you think it’s cool to starve yourself? I go by the scientific consensus which is to not lose more than 1% of your body weight per week.
So yeah, I believe in science, and math... I guess you don’t like science ?
Oh look at me I’m hardcore derp derp derp

I’m not losing more than a % a week. Only lost 2-3 lbs since last time. But my conditioning has improved significantly. Because I’m gaining muscle.

If you’re in a 1300 calorie deficit that means losing 2.6lb a week
2.6 is 1% of 260lbs... do you weigh 260lb?
2.6 is 1.57% of 165lb...
Are you saying you don’t think 1.57 > 1?
Who taught you math?

I’m a grad student in mathematics mate. Control theory and optimization. Protein is 4c per gram, fat is 9c per gram . Supposing my body converted enough fat to muscle it could account for the difference. If it was a mathematical certainty Kevin levrone could not have done it. And yet he did.

Dude, wtf are you talking about?
You don’t ‘convert fat to muscle’ dumbass... completely different processes and pathways.
Muscle is made of protein and water almost entirely...
LOL
This is next level stupidity

Conversion wasn’t meant to be taken literally mate. I give my body the raw materials daily. The water the protein the etc. It burns fat and uses it to assemble said materials. The amount of mass gained per gram unit fat burn is greater than a gram. This mass gain offsets the mass loss from burning of fat from defecit. Hence why it isn’t 2.6 lb a week. If a pound of fat was burnt and used to construct energetically equivalent amount of muscle, that’d result in a net gain of 1 pound. We don’t need any magic here, my body just has to be willing to prioritize increasing my muscle mass over maintaining my fat stores, even while in a deficit. Then the math can work out. The notion that it’s possible to gain muscle on defecit or maintenance in right conditions is pretty broadly accepted.

You’re seriously not getting it dude... I dunno how else to explain it, but you really don’t know what you’re talking about.
You don’t BUILD muscle from fat burning off, they are completely separate things. There is nothing about the loss of fat that contributes to the gain of muscle, it comes from what you consume.
You’re not synthesizing 100% of ingested protein into lean tissue, that doesn’t happen.
Furthermore, again, your stated deficit of 1300 calories would result in a weekly weight loss 2.6 pounds.
You are not gaining lean tissue fast enough to offset that calorie deficit via muscle gain. If you were, you’d be literally cheating the laws of biology OR you’re loading heavy amount of steroids...
This is not debatable.
Again, if you’re in a 1300 deficit, you’d lose 2.6lb a week.
Period.
End of story.
Nobody in here will deny this.
You are flat wrong.

So you acknowledge this would be possible with super physiological hormone levels? Bc that’s a much weaker argument that ‘ this defies thermodynamics’. Maybe I have big ramy genetics, and that and me being detained is enough to cause this unusual phenomenon. I know how much I eat, how many miles I walk, workout, what my weight is l, what the calipers say, etc. I don’t half ass tracking this stuff. You can say ‘ no way bro’ all you want but the numbers are what they are. You can’t account for an 80lb+ gain to pull-up strength, in someone with substantial past pull-up experience by nervous system adaptation.
