It may be genetic. Everyone loses fat in different areas at different times. Many guys' lower abs and lower back are the last to go. I know it is for me..
You look good now I think but 1-2 % will make a big difference. Good work! Keep going!
*edit
Also, I don't think your obliques make you look fat. IMO they form the 'v' to your lower abs. Wider shoulders and lats will give your waist a slimmer look if that helps. I have the same critique on my own obliques and working to get wider on top.
Thank you so much! It really helps since I train alone and only have youtube to teach me. I need to be reminded that I'm not going the wrong way. Cheers bro!

I would say 10-11% depending on how flexed you are in this picture

Hi,
after a significant weight loss (31kg) within 10 months I'm struggling with loose skin. Also, due to that, cannot estimate my current %bf properly

16-18% but frankly at this point, you need more lean mass.

Thank you for your help.
To be honest, I'd be suprised if I really turned out to have 20% bf. I think I'm less than that and the loose skin on the bottom belly makes me look fatter than I am.

I always thought my % muscle mass is quite okay for an average guy. Still, clean bulking is the only right way to go, I wouldn't want that loose skin bag to remain empty, and filling it with fat is absolutely, not an option :P
However, I think before I start clean bulking, reducing that belly fat is necessary. Isn't it? 3-4 kg. I'm 177cm (5'9) and 69kg (152 lbs)

I am doing the same thing at the moment to eliminate the last bit of fat in my sagging/loose skin however I also have a bit more lean mass than you do so there is that to consider.
That said, you will probably need to go to around 144 pounds to get to the 11-12% range and may potentially see some of that skin start to sag/fold in on itself once you hit that point so keep that in mind.
10 weeks into a cut, rough guesses?

Hi I was just wondering what my body fat percentage was. I am 6'1 and weight around 197 lbs, and am 20 years old. I have already lost around 23 lbs.

Hard to say as you are pretty far away in the picture but I'd say around 16%

Tats and lighting make it a little hard to see.

Great job on the loss so far.
I would say a little higher at 25%

I would say higher at 20-23%. But agree get a better pic and I'll be happy to take another look.

Possibly, a little hard to tell from the picture but he has fairly decent 'outlining' in his midsection which would make me inclined to say a little lower than that
Could just be lighting and a fair amount of mass however
Great job on the loss so far.
I would say a little higher at 25%
i'm confused... i estimated like 20% because his hips seem naturally wide (so it's not all fat), and there's some really subtle ab definition

Thanks Alex and Mateo. If we look at weights overall, last year this time i reduced from 88KG to 79KG in three months. At that time (79KG) when i checked accurately my fat% was around 17%. This year early on i got fat again back to 86KG from 76KG. Now after 2 months of intense fasting state workout (cardio + weights) everyday for 2 months without singe day off i am at 78KG. lost waist size from 37 to 32 inch however when i bought Mi weighting machine it says my fat% is 27%.
In a day or two will try to get better pictures and then need your feedback on estimates.
i'm confused... i estimated like 20% because his hips seem naturally wide (so it's not all fat), and there's some really subtle ab definition
I would agree closer to 20. At 25 you're more getting into 'belly' territory
This chap just has some handles but in general you can see the shape of his torso muscles underneath
does anyone else feel like their definition disappears and their body looks smaller in pics? shoulders look smaller, waist looks bigger etc
i don't even want to post pics at this point, literally looking like ~16% in the mirror but ~18% in pics. it's really weird, i can see more definition in the camera before i snap the pic too... maybe my phone's beauty filter is blurring the abs or something?

The mind tends to see what it wants to see. You adjust to seeing yourself over and over in the mirror so you start to subconsciously focus on certan aspects and ignore other. A photograph is generally going to be from a different angle and to some degree different lighting so the visual cues that you have accustomed yourself to are different and you see yourself in literally a new light almost as if you are looking at someone else.
If you think that you look more like "18%" in a photo, then you are probably closer to that in reality.
This is why we tell people to take photos and use them as references vs simply looking in the mirror every day.
