You got muscle bro, cut now and you'd look sick
ya i have been i got a wedding in a week haha. I went from 90kg to 88kg in the past two week. But it doesnt seem like my body fat has gone lower.
I have been working out for about a year.
Had to take a break for the last few months because of school, but just got back into it for a few weeks now.
I feel fat af, especially when I sit. I measured it, and I have around 14mm of belly fat.
Any guesses for the percent?

Hey guys... it's been about 2-2.5 weeks since last progress photo posted. Scale is about the same (6'1.5/220lb) though I do notice a bit more definition on the upper abs and when I pull the skin down can make out the top 4 abs. Also have a side view for reference. Am I still on track for most of them showing by cutting another 5-10 lbs? Plan to then slow bulk once get all of the abs showing and then end up around 220-225.

To me you look almost the exact same as you did 2 weeks ago, staying at the same weight is a bad sign. Well not exactly a bad sign, but you probably havent lost much fat if any. If you go at that rate its gonna take you 3 months or more before you get to the level I would say that you want.
My peronal suggestion would be to look at a more aggressive cut than you are now or at least drop calories. Youre gonna have to cut at least 10 pounds, maybe 20 if you want defined abs. You could do that in 5 weeks, but at the rate you have done in the last 2.5 weeks it would take alot longer.

Thanks for suggestion and although I do want to get defined abs, I don't want to lose much muscle mass in the process so I've been hitting the weights and doing cardio as well which in return has lead for more calories consumed. I've been roughly averaging in around 3700-4200 calories a day though may have to cut down to 3200 based on your estimates. Maybe go for 1 pound loss a week. And 10 to as much as 20 (all 6 showing relaxed) that's based on being roughly 16-18%?

If you keep your protein intake high and lift the same weights in the gym you won't lose muscle. Lifting the same weight, or even pushing to lift more is the key part.
You always underestimate how many calories you are consuming, unless you are tracking every last thing, including adding all the sauces and spices. You probably are eating 4000-4500.
Start with 500 less than what you are eating now. 1 pound per week is good. When you see defined abs is different on every person and will depend on how much you work them (they will show at higher bodyfat doing this) and genetics. Its impossible to say when they will show for you. If you want a very defined area id say you'd probably need to lose 20 pounds. This might put you around 13%, based on you being 16-18% now.
This is all just arbitrary numbers. Your weight loss, how you look and measurements are most important.

Gahhh, I think I've just gained a bit too much fat. Time to just cut back focus on maintaining strength and cutting 15lbs xd Thanks for the estimates? Would you say the first two are closer to 20% or 25%?
Does an Imgur link work on this? I want to see where I'm at. I just started following a workout program and counting calories (currently bulking) for the first time ever at the beginning of August. Before that I went to the gym since like 10th grade but I had no idea what I was doing. I'd do a "full-body" workout on pretty much any and all the machines lol. I'm 5'9" and I believe I'm 166 pounds. I'll weight myself tomorrow or the next day on a Publix scale. The one I have at home says I'm 163 but I think I'm at least 4-5 pounds more than that... I did one of those body fat percentage reader things in January (this year) where you go underwater in the tub and it said I was 10.7% at 161 pounds but I think I've gained some weight for sure. Will post pics tonight or tomorrow.
EDIT: Getting 3.2-3.5k calories per day. Sometimes upwards of 4k if I skateboard or bike that day because I really enjoy skating and riding my bike.

Where do you guys think I'm at and is it wise to continue bulking? This is actually closest to the leanest I've ever been in my life besides when I was a really young child. I used to weight 220 in high school at my highest. I think I'm anywhere from 165-170 right now. I'm 5'9". Truthfully I want to continue to bulk because its the first time I've ever been on a workout program and counting calories and I'm already seeing pretty sweet results as far as my strength goes. I never thought I'd be able to bench 185 lol.
Hey there, thanks to those that keep this thread going. What do you guys think is my current BF%?
ALSO, what do you think about the progress between the "old" and "new" pics. Old pics are from February 3rd of this year, I was 146lbs back then.
ALSO, based on my current BF%, should I cut? bulk? lean bulk? recomp? (aren't recomp and lean bulk the same btw?)

Should I have lean bulked at 146lbs? Also, why was cutting bad/questionable? Hopefully this is just a minor setback.
Many thanks man

Lighting is always a big factor. When you see those bf% charts and the guy has great abs at 10%, that's in part due to the lighting. I didn't see a lot of fat on your abs. My guess is they're just a bit flat from the lack of carbs.
[QUOTE=Lucasxpogba;1533835121]Gotcha man, thanks. What's the difference between Lean bulk and recomp btw?

With a lean bulk, your goal is to put on weight and minimize fat gain. E.g. aiming to gain 2lbs/month. A recomp means that you're either trying to stay the same weight and simultaneously build muscle and lose fat or you're trying to build muscle in a deficit.
You don't appear to have any fat to lose atm, so it would be a better idea to start gaining weight. You can't really recomp if you don't have fat to lose.
Since you play soccer, I would suggest a training program with an athletic focus, e.g. WS4SB or Candito Linear Program. I would also make sure to keep up with your conditioning.

I would have, because in my opinion you look too thin now but you might like that look I don't know. And simply due to the lack of lean bodymass you had before I wouldn't recommend that much of a cut to people (especially at your age). You have so much more room to manouver now you are leaner, so definitely just take the positives from it!
Hi guys,
New to this forum.
Have been working out for 6 months, mostly full body workouts 3 times a week.
Prior to that I had ran a couple of half marathons.
5'9"
168lbs
Waist: 31"
Age:39
Keen to know my body fat %.
How much should I cut before lean bulk (or whatever)?
Much appreciated.

Can I get some help. Been trying to lose weight all summer, was about 245 in May, now I’m about 198. Never had much muscle mass. Always been a high fat percentage. Played football my whole life and always was not as strong as people half my size. I can still lift everything I could back in May so I feel I didn’t lose much if any. Need advice on if i should try to bulk or continue cutting.
