5'8" 160lbs (started +170lbs) been cutting for ~8weeks now.
Dunno how much more I need to cut until six-pack, whats my bf?
Should I still continue my cut or go back to growing more muscle. Dunno if I have enough muscle to look good @ low bf yet.

6ft3 236.4 pounds - About to Start Cutting
Not sure how much I need to cut to reveal Abs. Have been training around 5 years, full natural (obviously). Never cut, always been on the perma bulk lifestyle (lol). Training at home for a few months now. These pictures are a few weeks old, but Ive been carefully keeping the same composition and weight (finished bulking, was maintaining before start of cut + a bit of yoyo'ing).
Last time I measured at this comp with calipers, It said I was around 17% but I don't believe it, I was thinking atleast 20?
Any opinions would be appreciated, would like an estimate of my bodyfat before I start my cut.

relaxed poses
i have ****ty posture as well from gaming since 12 years old lmao
apparently i can't post links since i'm new so they'll be under my photos on profile
Couple of questions:
What do you think my current BF is? 5'9 / 168
What do I need to do to get visible abs? And how far away from that am I?
Cheers

Should be about 22%BF, so I'd say cut further.
About the 6-pack, it will take time and you might not have it (well defined) cutting down the first time. In that case you need to build your core (and other muscle) first... then cut again.
Hello,
I am trying to get an estimate on my body Fat %. I am approximately 5'9 and about 175lbs. I have been trying to get a six pack now for quite sometime. I consider myself to be very active. How long should it take me to reach that goal do you think? I am a newer member so my pictures will be on my profile gallery if someone could take a look. My main one is my main profile picture. Thanks!
Bodyfat around 16%.
It will take months, how many depends on how big of a deficit you're running. Also this assumes your core is already built.

I'd say about 14%, with uneven fat distribution.
Keep cutting until you have lost the stomach fat.
Yeah, I thought it was mainly around stomach too... Probably too much beer.
Plus I'm 37 next month so no spring chicken
So I went and did a InBody test today. It said I was at 17.2%. How accurate is one of those machines? I'm 5'6" and 142lbs.

Inaccurate enough not to be trusted imo.
Anything giving output above 15%BF for your physique has to be wrong, unless you have abnormal amounts of visceral fat (around organs).
Imo you look to be ≈13%BF.
Stats: 6'3 178lbs 19 years old, pics in bodyspace... just started working my back but abs are my ultimate goal, all estimates are appreciated greatly as i'm very new to the site
About 15%BF, low fat and low LBM.
If abs are a goal, then you'd want to build a solid muscle base first, including your core.
thank you, rep added sir

Thanks man - based on the photos would you recommend continuing to bulk, or start cutting?
Repped.
Hey guys, any chance of a rough estimate. Im 5 foot 9 and 166lbs - 37yo. Cut from 222 down to 156 and then bulked up to my current 166lbs (slow bulk 1-1.5lb a month)
I carry most of my fat around stomach area & lower back, not much to pinch on chest, a little on arms and very little on legs. According to Navy Body fat Cal im 19% - 37cm neck and 87cm waist at naval.
All estimates appreciated.
Thanks

You didn't mention your age but assuming you're over 20 years of age you should cut.

I'd say you're around the 18% mark. Continue with the slow bulk so as to minimise fat gain.

Hey everybody. New to the forum and hoping to gain a lot of info, advice, and motivation.
I've been on a half-ass cut for a little over 6 months. Would like to know what my bf may be based on my profile pics. Also, I would love and appreciate recommendations as to whether I should continue my cut or start clean bulking. I really don't mind being light/skinny. Biggest concern is being lean/defined. Really want to see some definition in my abs. Idk if I have enough lean mass to continue cutting and find the results I'm after.
Height: 5'10"
Weight: ~149 lbs
Pics: look at profile
@ allie, I'd guess at 18-21%, pretty lean.
@ broc, mid teens. I'd mass gain @ your stats. Getting much leaner is a lot of work, and not much benefit.

Thanks for the reply. It is pretty damn difficult to keep up with this cut. I've never done a bulk before (at least a smart bulk). So I'm a little intimidated by it. Just scared to gain a ton of fat and only minimal muscle.
Just scared to gain a ton of fat and only minimal muscle.
If you do a moderate gain, you aren't going to explode in fat overnight. Setting up to gain 1-2 pounds month most lean people with 0-2 years training have 9 months easy to progress. And if gainz start to move too fast 4-5 months in one just slows down an increment if needed. People who have been training longer seem to do better progressing weight a little slower.
appreciate it.. repped :)
Can anyone please give me a bodyfat estimate? The pictures are in my bodyspace.
For those who want to hear me out, read below..
I've just undergone a 15 lbs. weight loss over the past 3 months. I take 4-5 meals a day with a decreasing No. of calories in further meals.
Most of the days my meal consists of 1L Double toned Milk (Protein 35 gms), Curd (somewhere around 15 gms protein), 1 whole egg and 1 egg white, Chapatis, Veggies and fruits. Total daily calory intake amounts to 2000. I wish to attain a BF& of 7-8% and maintain it. So any BF% estimate or any diet changes advised will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hello - almost done with my cut, curious on what I may be at.

To be physically able to reach 7-8% and look good, you need more muscle... even with the added muscle you will likely feel like chit, especially the first time (trust me on this one). If you really want to cut further, do so, but don't go below 10% for now. Add the mass as soon as you feel ready.
Currently you are about 15%BF.

Around 25%BF.
Hi!
I have been cutting since ~22% with Fierce 5 Novice routine.
Started lifting srs on this program properly since 2015 but 2 separate prolonged binge relapses forced me to cut again twice, to where I stand today. Im sincerely working on that and would like some assistance, please.
Current Stats:
Age - 31
Height - 5' 6.5"
Weight 137.15 lbs, holding ~119.71 lbs LBM
1RMs - SQ 198lb, DL 273lb, Pendlay-Row 123lb, Bench-P - 99lb, Overhead-P - 62lb
Waist - 30"
Estimated Body-Fat according to Navy Circumference Method - 12.72%
I have never bulked before. Chest & shoulders are terribly behind but am since I'm a beginner(ish?) I guess it doesn't matter. Am solely focusing on correct form & execution with full ROM; cheating form & ROM to only progress when confident of sure progress wrt individual lifts.
Does sub 13% seem about right? I feel its time to bulk on a 10% surplus (for a 1.7lb monthly gain) even though I haven't reached recommended 12%BF and squeeze out as as much progress as I can (esp on chest & shoulders) while on Fierce 5 Novice routine, while on the lean bulk.
Right now looking full-on DYEL mode with clothes. Think I must build up a solid muscle base before cutting again "for dem abs".
Do you agree? Decided to post here instead of start a new typical thread.
Do you think I'm on the right track regarding the next step I should take towards progress?
Thank you!

I agree, you should go for a small surplus, also what you said makes sense.
Your skin is thin enough for you to start gaining. This and preference should be what people go by in terms of switching nutrition approaches, instead of some fixed number of BF%, which will be different based on lbm amounts and whatnot anyways:-)
That said, you are around 14%BF everything considered. Start making those gains!

I would also like to know, should I cut more or start gaining muscles? My goal is to get a physique like Cristiano Ronaldo I know he put in a lot of hardworking in it but I'm ready to put in all I have to achieve that. I'll do plyometrics and bodyweight training to get explosive muscles combined with running for endurance training. Also I'm on a healthy diet mostly consisting of carbs and proteins and have excluded junk totally.
Daily protein intake - 90gms
Daily calories intake - 2000-2500
So this is what I'm up to and what I'm doing to get there
I would really appreciate if you can advise me on my approach oR anything else :)
Also tell me how can I rep you because I'm new to this place ;)

It takes years of commitment for that kind of physique, adding mass and cutting down several times.
Start by building mass; you need to eat enough to gain weight as slowly as possible while getting stronger (1kg/month or less on average). Start at 2600 calories with ≈120g of protein and weigh yourself consistently for a month to see what happens.
Look in the workout programs section for a program that fits your lifestyle and gym experience, fierce 5 is solid for starters, as an example.
If you have further questions, send me a PM (inbox -> new message) and we can take it from there. Trying to keep this thread clean for BF% only.

Not the best photo in terms of clarity, but I'd say around 12%?
tl;dr the bodyspace should be showing photos under my progress pics. Please check there. Trying to determine most accurate guess of bf% for TDEE calculation. Opinions opinions, please please. Time to make a change and do this right.
Lost 70+lbs, did it all wrong. No lifting. Soft as hell but look ok with clothes on. I eat healthy now, but a jar of PB every few days isn't right either. Getting macros in check (starting with 40-40-20) and will start lifting. First I want to sort my nutrition. Im having a hard time determining my TDEE... I want to shed some more fat and get skinny skinny and then bulk back up as I lift. That being said, I want to make best use of myfitness pal and the macros, but to do that I need to determine cals. I was thinking 20%, TDEE comes to 2300 cal, but maybe more like 22% BF or higher? In retrospect, looking at these pics Im feeling closer to 25-30% lol...
I'm thinking around 1700 cal to shed this as I lift. I'm 5'7", 153lb. Short of seeing a fitness pro, figured I'd ask for pro opinion here.
Thanks!
Im at work, therefore cannot post a pic, but based off my profile picture, what do you think?
