Down another 10lb from the last time I requested an estimate and got 18%, I can really start to see definition coming in now and I'm around 5lb off my target weight, depending on how I feel about how I look I'll start a slow and steady bulk to put on some mass, if not I'll go down another 5lb and re-evalute from there.

Wow thank you for the reality check. I have been focused on everything I eat and I found an extra 500 cal of junk I didn't even realize. Mixed nuts are a killer!

Thanks! I’m planning to do a lean bulk to about 160-165 until the summer and then cutting down to get shredded. This time I wanna keep it much cleaner in terms of nutrition and focus on getting stronger than ever. Do you think this is a solid plan? Also, could I expect some Of the muscle to come on relatively easy after coming off a long cut and losing muscle?
-
^^^^^
Clean eating is a subjective thing so best not look at food like that, it is all calorie surplus you want a small surplus it doesn't matter what food source causes that surplus. Best idea is to eat at maintenance for bit (2 weeks) in order to balance hormones and to work out your new maintenance TDEE. After that eat a small surplus (200-300) above this whilst following a progressive training plan.
Answer to your other question. Is it depends, some people gain muscle a tad quicker due to their bodies being more energetic therefore able to lift heavier and progress quicker then later on in a bulk. However most of this is just glycogen replenishment and isnt really muscle growth. Likewise some people gain fat quicker as they are leaner then normal so one there body is primed to add fat (remember fat is required by your body so it will try to gain some) or they get their caloric surplus wrong therefore consume too much.
That is why I advise a maintenance stage to get ready for a bulk.

Hey, can I get an estimate? Pictures are in attached.
I'm 5'7, 146lbs. Been on a cut for about 2 months now, started from 156lbs.
Weight loss is really slow now, therefore I would like to get some opinion on whether I should continue cutting till 10% bf or start on a slow bulk. Thanks!

Around 13% would be my estimate maybe a tad lower. I would say its down to you. You could probably drop to 140-142 and bulk from there or just start now but keep the surplus very small to maintain your leanness. As for 10% my best estimate would be 135-138lbs I personally wouldn't but you would look very lean. It really depends on your goals.
If you plan to bulk anyway to gain more body weight then don't bother. If you plan to maintain the look for a while then you can go for it if you wish you dont look small.

Cheers.

18-19%.
100% slowly bulk. If you gain around 2lbs a month on a small caloric surplus above TDEE maintenance (about 200 calories) you should gain mainly muscle which may reduce your overall bf% down in time as well.
Make sure you are following a progressive training program such as Fierce 5.

You are still around 16% as 6lbs wont make much difference when you take water weight into consideration.

Yep somewhere in the bracket of 85-88kg will do it I imagine depending on water loss.

Definitely above 15% IMO. I'd take a wild guess and say around 17%.
If you add some muscle you'll certainly look much better and bigger, even if you don't get leaner i.e. shredded. Just my 2 cents.

It is hard to estimate due to water loss from muscle but yes around 20-25lbs should get you near that target.

Thank you. You look fantastic for 49 by the way

Yeah I had a look back and it certainly are going in the right direction. Its quite odd on you as you some core definition at a higher then usual bf% most people are just round bellied where you aren't so kinda throws the visual inspection but I would say that the 25-26% bracket is correct after losing 20lbs.

No way of knowing really as no back, side or leg pic. But a guess around 25% bracket but again the distance and poor photo makes judging near impossible.

No way of knowing based on a lifted shirt pic. Will need to be a full front pic minimum. Preferable stats (height, age and weight) and a back and side pic.
alright thanks man. i'm going to wait until i hit 8-10% before i bulk though.
No no no. You are already very skinny due to no muscle mass. Your issue is zero muscle, not too much fat.

Hmmmm It aint my body but you are looking at mid 50kg bracket to achieve that maybe even lower for 8%. No 6ft man should be sub 60kg, sub 70kg is a stretch. Why do you want to be 8-10%? it won't give you abs I can ensure you nor will you look very defined just skinny.
No no no. You are already very skinny due to no muscle mass. Your issue is zero muscle, not too much fat.
This is the advice you need.
Take it and use it. You have the leanness now gain the muscle. You will see the development a lot better if you start building muscle now and getting lower will cause no more real benefit.
-

idk, my goal is ottermode so if i started bulking at this point i'd inevitably put on a lot of fat as well as muscle, leading to me looking far from that. wouldn't it be wiser to lower my bf setpoint to 10% so that i can bulk until i'm 12% and then cut until i'm 10% again and then repeat the cycle?
also looking skinny does not sound bad, that's pretty much my dream, so even if i wouldn't have abs it would be fine on my end.
-

Honestly it is down to preference but you seem to be think black and white for bulking and cutting. Bulking isn't about getting fat how can you if you only gain 2lbs a month? Its about having a small surplus of calories. The softness most people see when they bulk is just water weight as if your weight isn't going up you can't be gaining fat consistently and you aren't consuming 3500 calories more then maintenance then 1lb of fat can't have been developed.
Likewise cutting you must weight train or you will lose muscle. Having a lower body fat% doesn't make much difference more easy to gain muscle. There is a small amount of calorie partitioning but really this is over exaggerated for the average person. You have to remember looking a certain percentage of bf% is not the same as actually being that percentage I can look 5% different by just having a pizza.
Building muscle is difficult and takes time a lot longer then losing fat so consider that when thinking what is best.
