You can you just have to be strict with your diet for 16 weeks.
Yeah i think that's what i did back then. I'm thinking of going on a strict diet and cutting to the 190's and see how i look.
Thanks! It is tough to see in that picture but I am dealing with a lot of loose skin. Especially around my lower abdomen.
When body fat is taken with calipers from both 3 areas and 6 areas it puts me lower than estimate. Been cutting for the last 3 and a half months. Moving to lean bulk this week.
Honestly you look pretty good dude, I'd probably put you right around 12%.
Hi, I'm looking for a second opinion on my bf%. Would you be able to look at my pictures on the previous page and estimate mine please and thanks...
20%, give or take a little.
20%, give or take a little.
Also what would you recommend in terms of cutting/bulking?
Thanks a lot!

I'm generally of the belief that as a minimum you should be down at or near 15% before ever considering a bulk (guys with less muscle can bulk at 15%, guys with more muscle are probably better served by going a little lower).
Try losing about 10-12 lbs SLOWLY over the next 10-12 weeks, while continuing to strength train and getting at least 0.8g of protein per lb of bodyweight daily.

Lose another 6lbs of fat and you'll see it disappear like magic..
I would say you are around 15% lose 10more lbs to get your v taper to pop but shoot for no more than 1lb a week
after the 6 month cut, i've been eating at maintenance for two weeks now
originally the plan was to start bulking when my maintenance gains are over, but i'm having second thoughts because i'd like to prioritize leanness
is it a good idea to get stronger on maintenance for 2-3 months (assuming i'll make maintenance gains for that long), then cut for 2 more months to hit 11-12%? i really don't feel like bulking @ 15% because i want to stay somewhat lean from now on

Estimate please?
Last 2 Pics in body space.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly bro if I could go back in time and cut to 12% before I decided to bulk up. I would do it in a heart beat.
The level of leanness I've achieved after 7 yrs of training is insane and I'm kicking myself for not doing it earlier and being stuck with my love hands for 5+ yrs
I would have had to go way lower back then and my weight limit is always 155lb so I'm not sure how that would factor into it...
Tldr: yes do it

I would say around 17% our bodies tend to enjoy this range without even trying..

Thanks!
The cut is just getting difficult because now I am starting to get hungry. Hadn't been hungry at all the last 3 months but I definitely have put muscle on during the cut, been lifting.
Starting pic with the newest for reference. I think maybe putting on some lean mass will help shed what is left but not sure.

it's like a psychological thing where cutting from 19-20% would feel exhausting ("oh man this is going to take forever" mentality), but starting from 15% is already very close and the willpower is high

Looking good dude...
I'd say somewhere around 13-14% maybe.
But it's tough with the lighting... more flattering lighting and you'd probably look way leaner

You did excellent bro! Yeah you should start lean bulking. It isn't worth losing more fat just to shed that last bit of fat. I'm dedicated to 16 week cut. Only 12 days to go and it's getting so unbelievably hard now.
You made it though way to go and go. Guess we will start lean bulking together so we got to keep each other straight.

I concur with Adam
Great job on putting on some quality size!
-
Wow thanks Adam! Reps on spread mate :)
Yeah the lighting isn't ideal but at least it's consistent for all of my progress photos so there is some apples to apples comparison there
Honestly I was thinking I was sitting somewhere around 16% BF for picking up weight this quickly, but it's hard to be objective on myself
Thanks again!
Yeah I think especially with your leg mass, the total % is going to be absolutely 15% or lower... but I really think 13-14% is more likely.

Followed and added you on FitSpace, lets get that lean bulk and motivation!

Honestly dude, to put on 20 lbs in 130 days that successfully without looking like you added any fat at all is pretty incredible. Whats even more amazing is that you were basically the same weight and 23% bodyfat only 10 months ago. Either you have insane genetics and your training and nutrition is 100% perfect, or you had some unmentionable help. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but my spidey sense tells me otherwise. Either way, repped.
I've given this a bit more thought and I appreciate this topic coming up.
I plan on eventually competing in natural bodybuilding and if possible I'd like to assuage any concerns regarding my lifetime natural status.
Are there any tests I can take on a regular basis that would help on this front? Earlier this year I took some blood tests that included my testosterone levels but is there anything more comprehensive and specific?
Thank you in advance, and I apologize if this is the inappropriate place to ask this question.
Sure there's tests you can do on your own dime at labs, but anyone can pass a "one time, self-scheduled" test. If you want to compete and maintain your natural status why not just join and compete in a Natural league that does random, year-round testing like INBA or PNBA?

Estimate Request
Hello!
I started my cut a week ago, and I've got a photo from Day 1: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=179077181
Any estimates would be much appreciated - here or there. (6'1", 218lbs, 42 years)
Props to my fellow Washingtonians in here, too. (Go Hawks!)

Cheers, my man!
And, yeah, I am pretty fortunate with my fat distribution. Perhaps it's balanced out though with my stubborn lower ab fat as I get leaner though, because only twice ever in my life have I not had that extra layer covering my lower abs, even in the seldom times I've been lean. (Definitely a stubborn fat area for most guys - mine just seems extra stubborn to spite me.)
Thanks again, and this thanks shouldn't preclude others from chiming in with their estimates.
Thanks!

Just for fun...
Been 'gaining' for about 6 months... up around 9-10lb.

Honestly no... I mean I'm eating like 3200 calories on most days... I eat 4 meals a day... a lot of whole foods with an odd 'treat' here and there... don't feel hungry at all...
But really, I mean I've eaten ice cream a few times this week, I never really 'crave' anything... it's been oddly easy... I'm actually trying to eat a little more now because I Think I could gain more mass if my BF was closer to 12-13%, even 15% or so... just because it's helpful to have an energy buffer for anabolic signaling...
