I think a movie then the walk is good, or goin for coffee and walking around is also good. If the museum of art is something that appeals to both you and your date then go for it! Just try to keep thing interesting so she doesn't get bored.

^^^ That can be true about the movies, I really think it's a hit or a miss. I've been on dates where going to a movie was great and others where it was, like you said awkward.

I wouldn't recommend taking a girl to the gym, but I guess it depends on the girl. If it's a very athletic/sporty girl who is into working out (especially the crossfitters), they might enjoy it. I'd go with a sports game, mall, or something like that.

How do you make yourself seem more approachable. I'm pretty quiet and have social anxiety so I tend to stay to myself and never initiate conversation with anyone unless they speak to me first. Because of this I usually end up mean mugging the **** out of everyone unintentionally, just feels unnatural for me to smile at everyone especially someone I don't know and I'm just passing by on the street. Occasionally I notice girls looking but I can't tell if they're interested or just think I'm creepy/weird looking and they get the vibe that I'm standoff-ish. I can't really speak to anyone in general let alone a girl who I'm interested in so when I rarely ever speak to them I go into retard mode and either end up saying the stupidest sh!t or just nothing at all and they probably get the impression that I'm "slow" when in reality I have like a million different thoughts that are going on in my head.
inb4 novel, I just worry about this alot.

This sounds dumb but think of something that makes you laugh enough to smile or smirk but not "frown". For the social anxiety thing its normal and you should not worry about being nervous. And stop thinking your are creepy/weird looking because you will start believing it too. First thing I do is smile as soon as anyone starts a conversation.

Ok, thanks. I feel like it's physically impossible for me to smile unless I'm laughing. I see people who can smile on que and it just blows my mind.

My best advice is to start going around people more often and initiating conversations. Practice makes perfect. You will become more comfortable around them if you put yourself out there. A simple conversation is not a big deal, so just relax. When you're walking past people, nod/man-wave to other males, wave or smile to females. Idk, nodding might be a country thing. Not sure if other folks do it. Just try to talk to people when you see them. You just have to be friendly. You can even practice saying hey and smiling in the mirror if you would like to. Good luck
