Official T-Misc Girl Help Thread

For some reason I thought things wouldn't be as bitchy and manipulative in college. Guess I was wrong.

So I meet this girl during the final couple of days of orientation. Right away she's flirting with me, asks me if I want to grab a coffee, go to the top floor's biggest window to take in the LA view. The next day school takes the entire freshman delegation to Disneyland, and she literally drags me to more isolated spots and onto multiple rides with her, and makes me take like 10 photos with her.

Signs of a girl obviously interested right?

I thought so too. So the next day we have a dance for all freshmen, and I meet her there and we say hi before she disappears and I see her chatting up another guy. So I'm like **** it, if you want to play that game so can I. I find another girl and start talking. We walk out of the hall and sit alone on a bench and get to know each other. I see the first girl walking past with that guy but I don't say a word, neither does she.

The next day she pretends she was trying to find me after the dance but couldn't.

I leave it be, and she starts calling/texting me all over again now that classes have started, and asking me if I can have lunch/chill with her/go to the gym with her. I relented and went to a Nike cardio training program with her today. After I went back to my dorm and got showered, I heard she was spending time with that OTHER guy from the party AGAIN today, right before she called me.

So either she's just a manipulative bitch or she's playing games, which do you think it is?

She's like a 6-6.5 maximum, there are better options, especially in LA, I know it. But it's kinda depressing to me that the first interesting girl I meet and get to know here turns out to be a disaster.

You shouldn't really plan it too much, you'll make the conversation a bit forced and awkward if you've already planned out what the topics are going to be - she'll probably feel like you're purposely trying to steer the conversation. Be natural, confident and just talk to her like you'd talk to any of your friends. Ask her questions but don't quiz her and try and expand off of her responses to show you're listening.

For example, if she says she went scuba diving over summer say "oh, that must have been really cool. Were you at all scared?" and that gives her the opportunity to keep talking and shows that you're listening and are trying to relate to her story.

I suppose it might pay off to think of some sort of memory you both shared from High School, so that if the conversation dies at any point you could bring that up. "remember when Ben Dover threw a paper plan in maths class and it hit Mr.Sulivan right in the left nut?". That would be fine, but generally I think it's best not to plan too much.

You don't sound like you're hugely confident, so probably stick to first level game - stick the occasional complement in there but nothing too outrageous. Reverse psychology and chit might be a bit advanced. Maybe ask her if she wants to meet up for coffee if it's going well. Seize the opportunity if you get one.

Just figured I'd reply to this since my friend went through an entire relationship from beginning to end that was basically the same situation as this.

For him, it went well. After they began going out (it started out very, very slowly) her family and his friend were still cool with him, and he kept hanging out with his bro, although most of the time he was with her (which tends to happen) and when they ended it they were both really upset at first, but managed to stay cordial with each other and ended it on good terms. So he's still friends with both the girl and his friend.

So it can definitely work, but it can very easily go bad if you aren't tactful and courteous from start to finish. Rough spots will happen of course, you just gotta keep a level head and not let things blow up out of control, that's all.

So I was dating this girl for that past 3 years. We started dating when she was 15 and I was 18. I know inbe4 ********.. She's 18 and I'm 21 now.. This past week she broke up with me. She said at first she lost all her feelings and that she was too stressed to be in a relationship. I tried and tried to talk to her and told her I could fix everything, she kept saying no. I'm at work yesterday and Im casually talking to her, and I found out eventually that she was talking to another guy, just a week after we broke up. I keep questioning her and I end up finding out its my best friend that I've known since I was in 2nd grade. We were all hanging out alot recently and i mean I never thought anything of it. I keep pushing more out of her and she says they've been dating since the day we broke up. I say a couple of long paragraphs to her saying how messed up she is, how immature she is, and how grimy and scummy those two are. It's not the first time she's ever cheated on me, I've heard lots of stories but she never admitted anything. Funniest part of all this is that he tried hitting me up to hangout two days before hand. He denied everything and said I'm bugging out for no reason because I was suspicious. I know it's alot to read bros, but I need some advice what to do. I feel betrayed by two of most people I thought I could trust.. Anyone ever had a similar Experiance? Oh and he doesn't even lift. He was addicted to drug years back and has to rely on suboxin in order to stay clean. He has craters in his face for doing so many drugs and he weighs like 130lbs.. She downgraded bad. Think she will regret it?

first of all im going to go on the assumption that your probs 16-18 years old. First of all, what are you looking for? A long term boyfriend? Attention? One night stands?

No lmao he's a 130lb kid that has craters in his face from all the damn pills he used to smoke and all the drugs he used to take. Kid couldn't even dumb bell press 40lbs when i tried helping him at the gym. He smokes, had no endurance, ran like 50 feet one time and had to take out his inhaler. Hey, thanks for the responses. I was asking this question because I'm going to start dating around November (late I know, but that's what happens when you have old-fashion parents), and my girl friends were trying to give me some advice on how to get a boyfriend and stuff. But it ended up with them getting in a three way debate over what's more important; So I decided to go ahead and ask here.

And don't worry, I'm not into that whole one-night-stand type relationship.
