when you said shes polite when she texts you.. it seems like you might be friend zoned which is both a good and bad thing. idk. but if she is a year younger than you and shes polite in her texts, i think jokingly saying what i said before might help with easing that politness and help her get more comfy.. then again.. ive never really texted any girl. or for that matter actually talked face to face with one other than being forced to.
Like we usually start out polite then it goes to casual texting, and she sends a bunch of emoticons (I think that's what it's called) and what not.

Well that's not reassuring lol :P but then again with my last GF she sent a bunch of emoticons before we started to see each other and even when we were seeing eachother.

i guess. But she said she doesnt like a lot of emoticons. IDK. sometimes i just feel like putting smileys all over the place because reading text is so hard to tell emotions... i.e. sarcasm and what not.
I personally don't like emoticons too much. I use em on here but never on texts. I'd just assume call the girl but there are certain girls that don't like calls

in DEP :3 it should be future sailor, but becoming a sailor won't be a problem for me. What will be is keeping a spec ops contract.

when you get to make some close friends in the navy you will have plenty of time to go to clubs / bars etc
there you will get used to interacting / talking and becoming more comfortable with girls because you are around friends as well so it makes it easier.
don't think so hard about it so when you got ur first date just be yourself and everything will be good

Gold.
Something I have failed to mention is that she's younger than me (1 year younger). So something like that may not go so well. The age difference may not be much but the level of maturity is. From what I see and have noticed from her texting me is that she's very polite and nice, which leads me to thinking that she's more mature than the rest of the girls I know in her grade. I am really careful with what I say because I don't want her to think I am some guy just looking to phuck, you know?
She could have just forgotten. If it was after a game, there's a good chance she had other stuff on her mind. Don't bring up that she didn't text you back. I'd say the most you can do wOuld be to say something like "how was your game this weekend?"
If she knows she was supposed to text you back after the game, hinting at it will either force a reason for not responding out of her, or make her aware that she didn't text back. Just don't bring it up directly- it might come off as creepy. I'm the worst texter in the world and I hate when people ask me why I didn't text back. I usually just don't have my phone or get distracted. She may be like that too.
Good luck!
Whoa, I've missed a couple of pages (I'm new). As stated previously, the best first dates are not the movie theater, and something physical, one on one, mano a mano. Mini golf (putt putt), bowling, rock climbing (side by side, little competitive), etc. If these don't interest you, be creative. DON'T make the mistake of being 'submissive' and saying to her, "where would you like to go?" Sure that could possibly work, but women like when you take the initiative. Be in control, but don't be dominant.
If the lady doesn't text you back, don't keep texting until you get an answer (you won't get an answer, you'll be perma-ignored). Reply to what she said, if there isn't a reply for a long period of time, say something else, and that's where you should draw the line. Anything after texting twice without a response is borderline annoying/stage5clinger. Women, for the most part, thrive off guys not giving the attention they want/need. No, don't ignore her for hours on end, but genuinely reply without writing a novel, short answers (not just a few words). Don't act too interested.
Now for the butterflies, they'll go away with experience/time. My girlfriend tells me that she still gets butterflies when she's around me (it tends to happen when you're with/around someone who you can't stop thinking about). If you keep to yourself, and not try and make something happen, you'll always have butterflies. They're not a bad thing, they may not go away, but generally once you start a conversation, they go away. Eye contact from across the room, followed by a smile will somewhat break the ice (if she smiles back). That's basically the starting point.

No handshake, half hug if anything (one arm hug) make it quick. Handshakes are to be used the first time you introduce yourself

Don't forget to compliment her on her appearance as you greet her. Keep it simple, you don't want to come off as creepy.
Oh and about emoticons.
The emojis are funny, I send those all the time. I think the "(:"&": )" smileys are fake. If a guy sends me one it's basically a deal breaker. Wink faces are fine if they're used to show sarcasm. Avoid the text smileys though, they're weird (imo)
If she's texting in emojis that's usually good. Even if she has nothing to say she's still trying to keep contact.

So you're saying you prefer the guy you're texting to be serious?

Some guys overuse it.
Brb putting :) after every sentence, ya know? I might be wrong though.
Ps fit, did you block the guy that sent you that msg on ig?
Lol'd at the reply that suggested telling him about bodyrock

Smileys arent as cringe as when someone put 'ha' or 'haha' at the start and end of sentences.
Like what they are saying won't but funny without it ha! <<< makes me do this >>>
