Slight lost weight, but was not happy with my progress or current status. For my After photo it was taken 3 weeks from today. Decided to take a photo for the hell of it after 4 years, I believe. (Give or take).

Me doing fly's! My fav chest exercise. I couldn't believe I could see flexing movements between the pecs!
I'm weigh about 195 now, and plan on adding more mass then cut up. I believe whatever I'm doing, I'm doing it correctly. I eat about 3900 calories a day. I tend to focus more on Protein and vegs. I eat with some meals.
I hope my post becomes an inspiration to others!
Pm me if you have any comments or questions. I'll be glad to help!

I'm no where near most of the guys in here yet... But here is my 8 week progress. Gonna cut until December, maintain through summer, then clean bulk after summer. Any advice or anything would be great. Wanna get down to 10-12%. So far i've lost 8kg (17.6lb) in 8 weeks. Adjusting my diet more, and added cardio (HIIT)[/QUOTE]
iv sent you a private message dude. been away for a couple of days
Check me out

Been lurking this forum for advice for a while. This is my transition so far. Aug/11 I was disgusted with myself and changed my life. That was 245 lb, size 38 jeans. Today 165 lb, size 30 jeans. I know my current fit is still fat according to most of you but it is still a big change for me. I have been in a calorie deficit for so long that I know I have lost strength that I used to have. Do you guys think I can switch to a bulk phase and start getting muscles back and help speed up metabolism again, or keep going until the last pudge of tummy is gone?
Thanks in advance.
Some awesome pics

Amazing stuff, read through alot of the first thread and now this continuation. Inspiring to say the least!
I started Leangains Monday, and so far it is kicking ass. Whenever I have tried to follow the eat six meals a day thing I am constantly miserable with hunger. Not eating breakfast and having an eight hour window has been awesome. Keeping my macros in check, calories pretty low on rest days, higher on training days. I am 6', 35 years old and started at 212 a week ago, now down to 208 (water wieght, I'm sure)
I have a question, and it's kind of stupid, but I'll ask it anyway...is there such a thing as a person who can hold nearly all of their fat in one place, that place being the lower abs and love handles? By my calculations, I am sitting at around 20-23% bodyfat (Tanita scale, which I know aren't great, but I don't have calipers.). the thing is, my legs are rocks, I can't barely even pinch skin there. My biceps and triceps look pretty good...not 5% BF ripped by any means, but they do have some cut to them. My face is not fat all. Literally the ONLY place I look bad is my stomach....and even there, you can almost see the lines in my abs on the sides towards the upper abs. But my lower stomach, forget it....it's like I am in shape everywhere but in the lower gut and love handles. I play pick up basketball with some guys, and they actually call me "muscles" because i wear a sleeveless shirt and my arms look pretty good (Though I am in no way that muscular...these guys are just not in any kind of shape, or else skinny as rails)
It's maddening. I guess maybe I have more muscle than I am calculating and my BF is lower than the scale is telling me. I have been this way for five years, and admittedly my diet has been way up and down...but I'm hoping that being really strict for the next twelve to fourteen weeks will finally get the gut off. Does anyone know of an easy generic way to calculate BF%, maybe with your fingers, like pinching the excexx and measuring without calipers?
Anyway, i'll update and ad pics in a few weeks. Thanks for any help!
is there anyone that from skinny fat got ripped/good looking? I sure try hard but looks like im going nowhere....Its like i build muscle, try to cut then i need to build muscle again then need to cut again....and i do follow my calories...

I'm right there with you, man. I have been up to 230 and pretty strong with no cuts, and I have dieted down to 170 and had more cut, but still looked mediocre.
I am doing Leangains right now, it's a totally different approach using intermittent fasting....you bsaically eat during an eight hour window, really watching your macros and calories, and higher carbs on training days and lower carbs on rest days... but it allows you to eat bigger and much more satisfying meals. The transformations people get using it are pretty amazing. Martin Berkhan created it and on leangains.com, he uses scientific studies to show why intermittent fasting is better for holding your muscle while losing fat. Pretty sweet. I am just in the first week, so far I really dig it just because of not having to try and eat a dinky little meal five or six times a day.
Might be something for you to look at.
Transformation started in December 1, 2011. Finished cutting on July 28. 2012
Start at 277 lbs. 34%BF. Finished at 187lbs, 10.5 percent!!
6 short months of extreme cutting, but I only lost 8 lbs of lean mass while others in the same challenge were shelling 30-40, and even 52 lbs of hard earned muscle!! Wooot!! Now on a bulking program to gain MASS BABY!!
Pics were taken at start. Last pic was July 28. I know there are 9 photos, but I took pictures every week of this change, so many to go through. Just picked the ones with most change!!
I did not do Lean Gains while the cut was happening, but I am now on the program and doing A VERY CLEAN BULK!!

Aug 2011 - 215lbs
Now - 150lbs
:D
Almost 1 month into my transformation and down 22 pounds. Will likely post updates monthly, but wanted to ask the community about how to proceed with my work out. Now, I wanted to devote at least 1 month just to building up my endurance, which if I'm being honest was just abysmal. Now I'm devoting cardio 6 days a week for at least 60 minutes and paired this with a low carbohydrate diet. It seems to be paying off in the interim.
The question I am posing is when to incorporate lifting into my routine? I was interested in following Kris Gethin's 12 week program, it's layed out pretty plainly but it seems pretty "lift-heavy" and I like the cardio. Any other programs I should be considering?
Thoughts?

That's one heck of a job, well done. What would you say you did different than others in the challenge that helped you not lose more lean mass?
Great job!!
