Really impressed with everyone here so far. I'm a big guy and I've always been terrible about eating right, so it's incredible and inspiring to see so many individuals making such positively drastic changes to their lifestyles as well as their personal state of beings. Kudos.
You can do it man, just attack it with will power and as soon as you start to see the numbers drop your willingness to succeed will improve
the juice is worth the squeeze (pun intended)

Just wanted to say you guys are my main inspiration for eating right and working out. I joined this forum back in February, 2012 and was just miserable with how my body looked. I didn't really get my act together until the end of my school semester finished. I started out in May at 298 and just started to go for runs everyday (starting to do weights now, as I also had a shoulder injury which required physio). I focused in on what I was eating, and adjusted my caloric intake accordingly (still working out the macros). I am now down to about 239. My body is still not where I want it to be (hence the no pictures), but I feel like I'll be at my goal weight by Christmas (215).
Keep up the excellent work gents.....and ladies!

General question for everyone.
Did you guys do ab workouts while cutting?
Whether it was weighted or non weighted ab workouts.
If so would/did it prevent skin sagging on the stomach?

Nowhere near what's probably considered "acceptable" around here. Perhaps once every 3 or 4 weeks if that. I let the compound exercises like deadlifts and squats take care of them.
I work them at least once a week when I'm bulking but hardly touch them on a cut.
Working them on a cut makes no difference to loose skin. You're not going to add any size to your abdomen and stretch the skin (the only way to keep it tight). The whole point of cutting is so that area will shrink and that means the skin's going to hang looser whatever you do until it decides to tighten. Working abs on a cut may help to retain their mass at best but without a calorie surplus, they're not going to grow.

Just like to congratulate everyone on the amazing transformations in this thread. Have spent the last few days working my way through this one and the original and it's the ultimate motivation as I start my own transformation.
I've promised myself I'll post my one month progress pics here to keep my motivation cranking. I've set the goal that two years down the track I can add another inspiring transformation to all yours in here.

These Fat to Fit threads have given me so much motivation. I just want congratulate and thank everybody. I'll be posting my pics around December, just started Keto, eating very healthy. I've been fat for 14 years, but I've also been very active during that time, used to do high intensity weight lifting like it was nothing, barely would break a sweat after 45 minutes. Now I know that eating right is the main way to get in shape. It's like a switch went off in my head. No cheat meals, or giving up anymore. I'm going to be more dedicated than ever before. Thanks again everybody.

Getting there man. Keep at it, cut up a bit more and you're going to look pretty thick as you've got some good lean mass there.
Well done!!

This probably is the best single thread on the entire internet. At least I've never found any better.
I've been bulking for the last seven weeks (up 20 lbs...but most of it is water from having been on such a super long cut). Even while bulking I will always belong with the losing fat people...for obvious reasons. The current goal is to get up to around 195 by March 2013 and then cut down to 10% body fat or stop at 160, whichever comes first. I don't want to be under 160 at 5'11", regardless of body fat.

In April 2011 i decided to give up smoking again after numerous attempts and failures, and had managed to pack on the weight due to replacing smoking with food on every attempt, i got to the point where i couldn't breathe and tie my shoe laces at the same time, so something clicked upstairs and i decided to lose weight and get fit!! As a lorry driver i spend a lot of time sitting on my backside, so getting healthy is quite important, plus the fact of heart disease in my family which both of my grandads have had bypass surgery for! I was given a weider multi-gym by one of the customers i deliver to and about the time i started i also got my 1st I-phone with some very useful apps ( Who says technology is bad for you) Using myfitnesspal, runkeeper and Gymgoal as my tools on my phone i embarked on my personal fitness mission :-)!!
When i started i could hardly walk, let alone run without the most intense shin splints and know im doing a regular 5 mile jog and 4 days split weight training (Monday to friday = morning fasted cardio for 45 minute to 60 min sessions and Sunday = Chest/Tuesday = Back/Thursday = Shoulder and abbs/Friday = Legs + week of work inbetween lorry driving) Weights completed in my bedroom on multi-gym and cardio on the street!
Now my bodyfat is nearing where i want it to be my goal is going to change for the winter, i feel a bit skinny and now want to bulk up with minimal fat gains hopefully, With Myfitness pal im going to keep a tight watch on my calories during my bulk! Im also going to have to join a gym, as my multi-gym doesn'thave enough weight and im restricted with what exercises i can perform on it!! Im going to keep up the weights but go heavier and cut my cardio right down to 2 to 3 times a week, because my wife says i need to get another job to feed my self and i don't think i can fit that in!!
1st link is before pic.
2nd link is after just before my bulk which im starting soon!
Hey guys, I don't normally post but I figured I'd post something up because I made this last week and was showing some of my buddies. This is the progress I've made ever since I was a little kid. It took me a while because I didn't pick up lifting until recently,so it may be different from some of the other transformations you guys do in shorter periods of time, but I'm just happy that I didn't continue down the road that I was heading with my life.
(Sorry picture was supposed to go here but I can't post links because of my post count)
Nice work man.
I'm not 100% happy with my body right now (as you can see I still have some fat around my hips) but I'm a work in progress and I'm working my hardest right now to trim that fat around the edges. Thanks for listening! oh and yes my face looks so funny in that picture lol
Nice work man.
Hey guys. I really appreciate the encouragement and support that I have received in here since I posted my first set of pics a while back.
I have one more update before I really start the push to bulk up and fill out. I was trying to bulk a bit over the past 3 or 4 weeks but I ended up losing some more weight. For those that recall my story, I am now down to 160 Lbs. at less than 9.9% BF. A huge accomplishment for me. Gaining the strength back is going to be hard. The short version of the full story is in my sig.
Here is the full transformation over 11 months. Loose skin is the devil.
318 Lbs.
Now for the big push to put on some damn muscle again.
Great work man. OK some time has gone by so lets see if you added muscle like you stated you wanted to do.
