Sorry to hijack the thread, but there are so many success stories here. Has anyone done a clean bulk once they hit 15-17% body fat? I've been cutting awhile and hit a plateau. Could use some motivation/advice to start a clean bulk. Dropped from 220 - 157, but can't get below ~17% despite keeping the diet in check ( 1 g protein/lb, plenty of fat). Any advice appreciated!
are you doing squats and deadlifts heavy!!!6-12 reps just to check you should be having 130grams of protein is that right!
Hi,
I'm new to all this. I just started walking several miles a day (6+) in spring/summer 2012 because I didn't feel like spending $130+ on a transit pass, haha. Then I decided to join a gym, luckily it was down the block, five minutes away! Went from 281 to 203 in 3 months.
I still have a long way to go, a big novice, haha. I want to try bulking for the first time ever, because I feel like I stagnated. Plus I was afraid of getting big again, I want the lean look. But i'm optimistic. I've never done dead-lifts / chest-flies etc.. or used free weights, dumbells or barbells, so hopefully if I switch off of machines to free weights for the bulking I'll see some results.
Any advice greatly appreciated...
Oh wow, du siehst großartig aus - Glückwunsch :-) !
Man! this thread has helped me motivate my journey for weight loss. And I'd like to share my progress with some of you, and hopefully this would inspire you to go out and become a better you.
Thank you for all of those who have contributed to this thread.

Had a lot of ups and downs cutting weight. I actually started in August and stopped after 7 weeks, Then I started again in October with some fuk ups in between. Still got about 8kg - 10kg to go till I hit the lean stage and then I'll lean bulk. Taking a break for 3 weeks while I travel and such.

Tryina find some Endomorph transformations
Good day to you all, great inspiring transformations here.
I am new to building muscle and For the first time in my life 7 months ago i made a change of lifestyle using mostly bodyweight resistance as due to back problems i cannot lift heavy.
I cut from 185 pounds to 141 pounds over 4 months and for the last 2-3 months i have been bulking as such. In 2 months i have gained 11 pounds (Glycogen/ Water & muscle) and body fat % has remained stable so something must be working.
Any questions feel free to ask, best wishes to you all!

I will be posting here soon.
Wow, very inspiring thread, guys and gals!
Keep up the good work. :)
Hello, this is my progress so far..
january i started with diet, not a hardcore diet... just eating healthy!!! i also did some bike and went for walks (no running)... july i started lifting
then 11 months dieting... 5 months lifting
2 january - 326 pounds (148kg)
1 may - 280~ pounds (128kg)
1 september - 242~ pounds (110kg)
20 december - 211 pounds (96kg)
ofc im not ripped yet, but i like the results i have in my shoulders/chest.
when i first started, my diet sucked.. it was a "weight loss" diet... very low fat, low carb, low calories, lots of salads... now my diet is better!! im eating 1.8g protein / kilo... 1.8g carb / kilo... 0.8g fat / kilo
when i burn all the fat i have on my chest and my stomach i'll start bulking
lets get big my friends!!! hugs from brazil
Big ups bro!! Thanks for inspiring me to keep up my own fight!
Started when I turned 17, and I'm now 18 almost 19 :)
Hello, first time poster here. Looking at all these transformations has given me the motivation to start my own journey. I'm 5'7" 216 pounds. I'm sick of looking the way I am. Hopefully I'll be posting some before and after pictures, sooner rather than later. You guys have all done a heck of job. I'm about to head to the gym. Thanks for the motivation!

wow. thats crazy. im super proud of you.
hard to tell from pics, but if you are having any skin issues, stay patient. you are so young and your body will regroup with time.
Wow, this thread is such a motivation boost, i will post my progress later.
First time poster, New to weight training. Looking through everyone's transformation is the boost I need to keep me going. At 5'6' and 69kg with a 33% body fat I'm really struggling with finding the right balance with my meals, I'm used to having one big meal at night (mostly simple cabs and just enough veg to add colour to the meal) and snacking during the day. Hopefully il be posting my before and after photos one day. Thank you all for the inspiration.

Here I am today after a year of training and clean diet. I lost 10Kg and obtained 10% bodyfat. Because of this results, I feel more motivated everytime I'm hitting the gym. It's tough but it's worth. - Peewee Santos (Singapore)

Hey I'm new to this forum after browsing from when I started 10 months ago. I started at around 210 lbs 6'3. Not in shape at all, don't really know the %'s etc. I've since then lost
around 43 lbs, and now gonna start gaining more muscle while eating clean and staying healthy. Any critique's on workouts/eating portions for my weight and height would be appreciated.

Well it looks like your on the right track man! 43 pounds is a good start.
Im rather new to all this myself, ive made my progress so far using bodyweight exercises done at home and some movements with 2 x 20 pound dumbells, i dont lift heavy due to a reoccuring back condition, so as far as workouts go and all you want to do is build some muscle for aesthetic reasons then i believe there is no need to pay for a gym membership and think you have to work towards pushing 200 plus pounds on the bench.
Of course mate if you want to develop strength then of course the two go hand in hand and yes work on pushing some weight but building muscle is all about time under tension so you can start doing this at home on your own floor with slow movements, holds etc to extend the volume of tension you apply to the muscle tissue.
What kind of a diet you following to cut?

Hi, I've been browsing this forum for a couple months. I started my weight loss back in September 2012 (265lbs). I wish I started lifting as soon as I went on a diet, but I only started lifting in January 2013. I lost 95 pounds in one year to be exact mostly through diet, but I started to actually see results after I started to lift weights and do some cardio.
Unfortunately at my one year mark of starting to eat healthy and workout I got a herniated disc. So I had to stop lifting and running (and even stop working...) for 4 months. Just started to lift again for the New Year, but I still get some back pain when I run. I went up in weight from 170 to 190. According to my electronic scale (I know, not really accurate) I went from 170 lbs 11% bf to 190lbs 14.3% bf on January 1. I dropped down to 185lbs 13.7% bf (according to the scale) as of today just from dieting and lifting as much as I could (definitely lost some strength). I was thinking of cutting back down to 170 and then bulk (my original plan), but should I just forget about it and bulk now, cut later?
The first two before and after pics are about 1 year apart (September 2012-2013)
Third pic is my current look at 185lbs...
So many motivation aroud here.
Good job evryone !
Motivating indeed
