First picture was at ~200 lbs, taken in August of 2013, after a year of non lifting, drinking 5 nights a week, terrible diet, and multiple injuries keeping me inactive.
Second picture is at ~195lbs, taken 3 days ago, after a 7 month bulk up to 215 lbs, and a 3 month cut to where I am now.
Looking to drop some more BF and hopefully end up around 185lbs and 12% BF in another couple of months
Well done man. You will look good when ur cut is over. I had a similar body fat as you when i started but couldnt get myself to bulk, just felt too fat lol. Respect for that and thinking long term.

The first picture I started out at a fat 190 pounds from working in a restaurant with unlimited cinnamon buns and french fries. I got a gym membership with my friend and cut for a month and lost almost 30 pounds. I bulked on and off for a couple months then i realized I was going right back to the way I was before with my diet and I hit the weights hard and got my diet all in line and bulked for about 6 or 7 months. I've been cutting a little over a month and I'm down to 152 pounds as of this morning, and I still have a little ways to go but i'm getting there slowly.

Posting a couple of progress pics of my current weight loss journey. Started in late February somewhere in the 290s. First pic is from beginning of April, I probably weighed in the low 280s. Second pic is from a few days ago, weighed between 245 and 250. For reference, I am 6'4" and 28 years old. Lifting heavy on a full body routine 3 days a week. I do not count my calories (live in China, which makes it difficult), but I make sure to get a good portion of protein (meat, eggs, or tofu) with almost every meal. Usual meals are eggs and vegetables or yogurt and fruit for breakfast, and some combination of meat, tofu, vegetables, and rice/noodles for lunch and dinner.

9 Year Transformation
This is a comparison pic from 2005 at 285 lbs vs 2014 at 163 lbs :)
I'm currently cutting down to 6% body fat (I'm sitting at 9%). I'm waiting to hit that 6% before posting my shirtless before and after.
-
I'm addicted to this thread. I just spent the last month looking at every post of this thread, and it's helped me keep on track and stay tight to my own transformation.
I do find it amusing (and slightly offensive) that some of you think your 200 to 185 "cut" is a transformation. Here's the deal; if you didn't have at least 25% body fat, it's not a transformation, it's a cut.
It wouldn't be much of a "transformation" if Bumblebee changed from a Camaro RS V6 into a Camaro SS.

I see what your saying but some guys go from zero lifting to ripped...I'd say that's a hell of a transformation. More of like going from a Cavalier to a SS.

Assuming you're speaking about yourself, sure, 10 kg loss is a positive and respectable change. Congrats! However, I looked at your BodySpace, and you were never fat. Here's my definition of fat:
30% + body fat
Stretch marks
Size 40 pants or larger
Loose skin upon weight-loss
High blood pressure
Diabetes risk
Actually being called "fat" by normal persons
Someone who is 20 pounds overweight calling themselves "fat" is like the kid in the suburbs complaining he's poor because his parents can't afford an iPhone5, and he has to use a Galaxy. Meanwhile, kids in the hood have been wearing the same shoes for two years.
I've been medically obese since I was I was a teenager, and I have every right to call myself fat. 10 kg overweight is just that...overweight.
Once again, congrats on your effort and results, but you were never fat (unless you're not showing pictures of your fat days).

I sadly don't have a picture when I was at my fatest, cause I don't like pictures. I already lost 10kg in my before picture, lost 25 in total, then I started bulking. I was like 25% bf and I do have a lot of strechmarks.
but what you call fat I personally call obese. (Might have something to do with cultural difference).
I do thank you for your kid words and cannot wait to see your transformation, because you said you are undergoing it as we speak. If you got any questions don't hesitate to ask.

I understand your point, but I don't think it needs to be this intense. Your analogy makes sense, but everything is relative to the environment people are in right? The kid you're referring to, may literally be considered poor if he lived in a neighborhood where all his friends drove Teslas. Whereas a kid in a poor neighborhood can be considered rich if he's able to even own new clothing when his peers can't. I know this because I grew up in a poor neighborhood, but I have friends who have grown up in the Silicon Valley and it's interesting to hear their experiences growing up.
In the case of this thread, there are guys like you and me who were probably obese/fat a majority of our lives, so we put the benchmark of fat relative to our experience. For people who may have been skinny their whole lives, and put on 10 kg, think about it, they've never been 20 lbs overweight before, their experience leads them to feel like they're fat. I have plenty of friends who have gained 20 lbs, and the depression they go through is every bit as bad as when I was extremely obese.
I think anyone who loses fat on this thread is welcome. This is coming from a guy who used to be 285+ lbs and at 35% body fat. I'm excited to see transformation from people losing 20 lbs to getting super lean, because I want to hit that goal of 5% body fat.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey as well. I know what a struggle it is to transform your body, but it's possible.

Eventually I'd like to compete but once I finish cutting a bit more I'm going to spend few years building more mass.

Yeah, and I know I’m stating the obvious here, but it sounds like it needs to be stated. Our perception of what is fat has changed dramatically in the last 15 years or so in the US.
Many overweight and clinically obese kids today don't realize they're obese, and "knowing your weight status [is linked] to trying to change behaviors... Children who don't have a correct perception of their weight don't take steps to lose weight." From this article on npr.org yesterday: http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2014/07/23/334091461/many-kids-who-are-obese-and-overweight-dont-know-it
"Among children and teens who were actually designated by the CDC as overweight — or between the 85th and 95th percentiles on the CDC's growth chart — 76 percent thought they were "about right"; about 23 percent said they were overweight. Among obese kids and teens (those in the 95th percentile and higher on the chart), roughly 42 percent thought they were OK weightwise, while 57 percent thought they were in the "overweight" category. Boys, younger kids and children from poorer families were more likely to misperceive their status."
...
And since I'm here - thanks so much for sharing your progress, everyone. :)
I’m coming up on a big anniversary for my weight loss. I haven't had any major setbacks since 2009 thanks to the community here, and I was convinced to lose the weight in the first place by an old friend that I found out here. He’s now a bodybuilder and PT. I should add, this web site has taught me that it’s ok to gain weight as well, lol. #yaybodybuilding

314 lbs ?!?! Holy **** you've gotta be a giant and one massive dude for sure. Do you have any pictures next to regular people? Would love to see that...
I never was really fat but on my first real bulk I overdid it for sure.. while my abs were still visible actually my head just became the size of a freakin' watermelon and my chest started to become a bit droopy that's when I
knew I went overboard with this whole bulking thing. At first it felt great to be strong and make all other kids look small but when I realized how stupid I looked I swore I'd never let it go that far again.
Here's a couple at a "mighty" ~240lbs and then at a leaner 220lbs and 200 even looking and feeling a thousand times better.... comparing both body and face it almost looks like another person :D

This thread is amazing, and so motivating! I am new to the forum, and am looking around for some info/help for my husband and I and it seems really full of help for us!
I started my weightloss/fitness journey after having my second baby. I got to 108kgs with her and in these before photos I was 91kgs, 6 months after giving birth. I am now 68kgs (total lost 40kgs) and hubby has lost about 20kgs. Our lives have changed entirely and are so much better for it. We have fallen off the wagon a lot the last few years, giving up for months at a time but I have been doing really well for a long time again and he has just joined back in. Now we are both down to losing our last 5kgs and I'm wanting to tone up a lot, and he wants to bulk and cut some more fat. I have a lot of excess stomach skin that I will never get rid of but just part of huge weightloss!
I've spent so many hours reading through the forum since I joined last night so I can't wait to learn a lot more!
Here's my transformation, and a little of my hubbies too :)

To be called or call someone else fat doesnt even make sense..you carry fat...yes its a common term used and we all know what we mean. But i think its unfair to say you cant call yourself fat unless you meet certain conditions.
Its like a spectrum- you can be at the lower end of being fat ( just overweight) or obese or morbidly obese...and so on...to the other end of the spectrum.
