I've been working my butt off. Put on a little more muscle mass and cut down a lot. I'm going to cut a little bit more just to see how far I can push myself. I just put it all in a photogrid. Hope I can inspire someone!

Dedication, commitment, determination, sacrifices and pain all equal what this man has achieved.

Impressive! Good job man
Of course you can. Your not going to go from a max of 300 to 350 on the bench, but you can get stronger in many other areas that may not be directly influenced by a number.
Stabilization strength and athleticism come to mind. Strength isn't just a max, but I understand what you were trying to say. At least I hope.
Onelastchance is right. You absolutely can! just not much size at all which was my problem when I started training. I got crazy strong, but didn't gain really any size until I started counting my calories :)
6'1 262 starting 8 week now 222

try and post that in the nutrition thread and see the bad replies you get buddy. BBnEngineer hit the nail on the head lads...
It is like sayin your car can run farther with less fuel in than a full tank!!!
You will gain if your muscles are adapting to something new but you hit your max out possible strength one rep max today and then cut clean and properly in the manor where you are shredding your fat off you are using your fat sources as fuel thus depleting your body of calories.. Do that after a feeling ****ty cut depletion and go to the gym and smash in the same one rep max 14 days later.....
That was what i was saying earlier post.....
Of course we can leangains, ketogenic, etc etc but at the end of the day remove the fuel remove the power...
BBnEngineer is totally one hundred % correct with his theory as he has cut for comp and has first hand at what power you lose from a deficit.
I wont go into an argument in here as if this needs further installments on the matter then someone open a thread about it and we can continue there.
Not startin an argument just stating a natural realistic fact.
first pic is me at 180 in December 2012, Now I'm 164 down from 35% body fat to 27%. Still a long road to go to get exactly the way I want to be. I have awesome motivation thanks to some amazing people along the way. Just wanted to share my excitement on living the Fit Life!

What's good?!
I've been lifting and training for over a year and have made a load of progress. That said, one goal is on my mind: abs. My goal is to get abs by August. Also, a bodyfat estimation would be useful. I've been training hard for awhile and have made really good gains, but who doesn't want the abs? Am I right? The point is, I'm thankful for everything I've worked towards as many of you are, but even after a year of lifting I'm still learning and still want to develop a better body.

Big progress m8. Looks like around 16% bf. You should start seeing abs with about 10 more pounds lost. 20 pounds and you should be pretty shredded.

The one wild card are those that aren't close to their natural limit. If you're just starting out I can see you build a little mass while on a cut. But after several years of lifting the name of the game is try as hard as you can to just maintain. Especially when you're at a 500 calorie or more deficit.
Just gonna leave this here. I've browsed through here so many times in the past and many of you are my inspiration on the daily. I'm only a couple of weeks in, but I find that the more involved I am with this community, the easier it gets. See you all a little further down the transformation path!

Thank you! I could see 10-20 pounds as a realistic goal by August. Thanks for replying and your input
look my photo of fatloss progress and my first photo of my bulk...

pMbeast was spot on..
You have made ace progress mate..... The outlines of the lower stomach V are taking shape nicely... I understand that you are desperate for ABS. in the 80s and 90s it was big arms but now its abs everyone wants..
They are there.... Just a lot less covered than before...... Again great progress.... keep at it.
ok well for the second time ever. I have posted some pics on my profile. Latest was of Jan this year but the pic of me at my heaviest is also there now.
I am going to leave them up for about a month then again remove them...

Hard to really say. Off and on due to sickness but overall it's been 2.5 years. I lost 52 in 4.5 months then got diagnosed with MS took some time off and then went from 170-149 since August. Really just been experimenting with my body.

How does the ms restrict you going to the gym? Or does it alter from day to day???
Well the first time it hit me I went numb from the chest down, minimal feeling in my feet. Lost motor control of my hands. Other times I would get dizzy and lose balance. Other time I would get uncontrolled muscle contractions in my whole right side which hurt, and also didn't allow me to speak because even the tongue was affected. So, it's just different when the flares come. Never know what the symptom may be. Haven't had one since I've been eating and working out regularly though.

yeah, I hear its pretty unpredictable, a girl I used to go to school with was diagnosed a few years back and had a real hard time dealing with it. then she started running a few 5k and 10k races and went on and completed the london marathon this year, she too has seen the side effects (symptons) reside whilst she's been keeping in shape.
