Been meaning to join something like this to give me more motivation as I am lacking at the moment haha.
Anyway my transformation from 260lb => 165lb.
great xformation!
Awesome transformation! I'm hoping to achieve a similar physique. What's your routine like? Cardio?
Thanks!
To drop a lot of the weight I did cycling (didnt want to damage my legs running haha) about 2 nights a week then weight lifting (usually heavy) on 3 other nights to build muscle and strength.
My gym days were:
1 x Chest and shoulder
1 x Back
1 x Legs
During this I would mix in stomach and arms etc.
At the time of the photo I was doing a lot of HIIT running instead of cycling. Ooo I also do wall climbing.
Basically thats what worked for me.
great xformation!
Cheers!
This is my progress so far ( 10 weeks in to cut ) , i was following kris gethins 12 week program with a few modifcations to suit my body. I was also wondering if anyone could give me estimates on my before and after body fat percentage if possible.
Before - 6" - 205lbs - I estimted my body fat at around 17-19%
10 weeks in - 6" - 179 lbs - I estimate my body fat at around 11-14 % ?
IMG 1061 - Front before 12 week cut.
IMG 1059 - Back before.
NEW PHOTO 86 - Front 10 weeks in
NEW PHOTO 85 - Front tensed 10 weeks in.
All critisism and tips are welcome , hopefully yous can help identify areas that still need work.
Cheers ,
Ross.
I have now finished Kris's 12 week program and begun may own program on a calorie surplus of over 1000calories.
Two weeks in and this is how i look , (thats a total of 14 weeks work since the first photo above)
Ment to say weights in above post.
Before - 205lbs
After 12 week cut - 173 lbs
2 weeks into bulk - 183 lbs
Aiming for a goal of 210-220lbs after bulk.
I'm 34 yrs old, 5' 7" and completely natural. I ran my first cut from April to August and attempted to get as lean as I could using diet / nutrition and lifting alone. I plan to begin a seven month lean bulk starting this September. These are my cut results.
Feedback welcome.

I had been training poorly for years and getting nowhere. I stumbled onto Starting Strength in January 2012 and ran a non-optimized bulk until April. Overshot macro / caloric requirements by miles :( I got stronger, but got excessively fat. Starting Strength is a solid barbell training program IMO.
I found Emma-Leigh's IIFYM Macro calculators in the Nutrition section in March 2012 and started a cut in April, everything started to click and fall into place after getting my nutrition straight. I am quite optimistic about next summer :)
Good luck.
Great job!Whats your diet/eating schedule like?
Thanks man! My diet is based on the values determined using the Macro calculators posted by Emma-Leigh in the nutrition section using the IIFYM nutrition philosophy. My exact diet, which has changed very little (almost none) over the past 5 months, which is my preference is posted below. My diet is composed of foods I enjoy eating & the timing is based on convenience only.

Feb 7 - 247 lbs, 34% bf
May 10 - 207 lbs, unkown bf
Aug 7 - 195 lbs, 27% bf
Currently - 192 lbs 21% bf
Awesome! Gratz!
Here's my 6 month before an after picture of me 50lbs lighter
Started at 180lbs 5"5, down to 130lbs
The picture on the left was from October 31st 2011 and the picture on the right was about a month ago. I went from 185 lbs to 165 lbs, mostly all in Afghanistan where it's not exactly easy to have a real clean diet. I'm still trying to cut down to somewhere between 155 lbs and 160 lbs to get rid of that little spare tire.
Side Note: I realize both pictures are not the greatest quality and are different angles with different lighting, but I'm an idiot and never took a before picture so that's the best I have. It's still pretty easy to tell there's a pretty big difference in the two pictures.

I actually did laugh out loud on that before picture. Great work man!
Age 25, 165cm June 3rd 2012 80kg (before) - August 20 2012 (current) 78kg
niceeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Cant wait to post up my progress. Doing a 2 month cut, then will post again in here.
ONE thing this thread gave me, which i found nowhere else on the internet. That was knowing what to expect, and in what time scale.
Typically in the past i would do a 2 week diet and think "FUARK! I still have a gut, may aswell give up" However, 2 years on, i still don't have fully visible abs, but my physique has improved drastically, along with my overall eating habits/health.
If i could, i'd reply to you all one by one, thanking you for the motivation that allowed me to make that move 2 years ago. Keep up the good work fellas
I wish I would've taken pics.
Went from 192lbs, 28%bf to 158lbs, 16% BF from OCT11-MAY12
Currently sitting at around 163.
IF, and calorie restriction worked for me.
These are approx 18 week's into my weigh loss journey, I started at 153Kg (337lbs). Now I am currently 128Kg (282lbs).
NO intentions to stop slowing down, feeling amazing and the weight is still coming off people :)
If someone who spent a majority of life in the background, can start to lose weight. I don't think anyone should have an excuse, I think I made every excuse in the book. But mental toughness and a good diet. Is the starting chapter.

LMAO, I've wondered if anyone thinks anything when they walk by my room and see me looking at dudes in their underwear, it can definitely be taken the wrong way.

Thank you guys! This is really motivating me!
Today, 8/31/12, marks 3 years into transformation. It may sound corny, but I consider it my birthday or anniversary of no longer being drunk, fat, and stupid. I played sports all though high school and played plenty of basketball in college, but then the last couple years of school and my first few years at a desk job I put on about 50 lbs over a 4 year span. Here are some of the last flattering pics I have, these were taken at around 200 lbs in July of 2007.

I actually got up to 221 but don’t have any shirtless pics at that size. Trust me, it’s no coincidence. Around 210-215 in mid early and mid 2009:

My company started a Biggest Loser contest 8/31/09, and this was just the kickstart I needed to make a true lifestyle change. I went from 221 to 184 in 12 weeks. Here’s me at ~180 lbs in 1/2010.

I continued my diet and exercise plan and got down to 173, then I decided to give P90X a try starting 2/20/2010. Unfortunately I lost my starting pics so here are the day 30 pics from 3/30/2010.
