Since I have hit my 1yr mark officially today since I started this venture, I'll share my progress that I've made with you guys. Start pictures were actually taken 13JAN2013....so I'm a little early.
Still a TON more work to do, but I think I'm on a pretty good path. I wouldn't even say I'm "motivated" anymore.....this has become my lifestyle, its just what I do.....
Hi! I've been here since January, 2013. This is my one year progress, my first picture was taken after 2 weeks of lifting and loosing around 2.5-3KGs, my deepest weight was 110KG and my BF around 39-40% (this was when I said enough), the second picture was taken a few days ago and now my weight is 79KG and my BF is around 22-23%
This thread always helps me out on those bad days and keeps me motivated! And yes this is still work in progress, so I'm not done until I reach around 10% BF :)
Awesome job.
Hey I'm new to this forum after browsing from when I started 10 months ago. I started at around 210 lbs 6'3. Not in shape at all, don't really know the %'s etc. I've since then lost
around 43 lbs, and now gonna start gaining more muscle while eating clean and staying healthy. Any critique's on workouts/eating portions for my weight and height would be appreciated.

Well it looks like your on the right track man! 43 pounds is a good start.
Im rather new to all this myself, ive made my progress so far using bodyweight exercises done at home and some movements with 2 x 20 pound dumbells, i dont lift heavy due to a reoccuring back condition, so as far as workouts go and all you want to do is build some muscle for aesthetic reasons then i believe there is no need to pay for a gym membership and think you have to work towards pushing 200 plus pounds on the bench.
Of course mate if you want to develop strength then of course the two go hand in hand and yes work on pushing some weight but building muscle is all about time under tension so you can start doing this at home on your own floor with slow movements, holds etc to extend the volume of tension you apply to the muscle tissue.
What kind of a diet you following to cut?

Hi, I've been browsing this forum for a couple months. I started my weight loss back in September 2012 (265lbs). I wish I started lifting as soon as I went on a diet, but I only started lifting in January 2013. I lost 95 pounds in one year to be exact mostly through diet, but I started to actually see results after I started to lift weights and do some cardio.
Unfortunately at my one year mark of starting to eat healthy and workout I got a herniated disc. So I had to stop lifting and running (and even stop working...) for 4 months. Just started to lift again for the New Year, but I still get some back pain when I run. I went up in weight from 170 to 190. According to my electronic scale (I know, not really accurate) I went from 170 lbs 11% bf to 190lbs 14.3% bf on January 1. I dropped down to 185lbs 13.7% bf (according to the scale) as of today just from dieting and lifting as much as I could (definitely lost some strength). I was thinking of cutting back down to 170 and then bulk (my original plan), but should I just forget about it and bulk now, cut later?
The first two before and after pics are about 1 year apart (September 2012-2013)
Third pic is my current look at 185lbs...
So many motivation aroud here.
Good job evryone !
Motivating indeed

HIIT Cardio 3/week, lifting 3/week, and ate with a calorie deficit...albeit a very large one. No Cheating
Hi folks, first post here. Wanted to get some thoughts on my progress so far. First pic is from Sep when I decided to start working out again. Kind of went up and down with it and recently started up again after new years. :p Pic on the right is from last week. Started at 244, down to 233. I don't have a specific goal in mind, I'm just trying to not turn into a roll of cookie dough.
My routine is 4 days a week.
Mon/Thur - chest, biceps, back and shoulders
Tues/Fri - legs, abs, and triceps.
Today is my off-day but I'm thinking about doing some high intensity cardio instead.
p.s. Thanks to everyone who posts in this thread... it's really inspiring.
Here's my before and after. I don't feel like I'm were I want to be yet, still working on it.
