From fat to UFC fighter
In April 2011 i decided to give up smoking again after numerous attempts and failures, and had managed to pack on the weight due to replacing smoking with food on every attempt, i got to the point where i couldn't breathe and tie my shoe laces at the same time, so something clicked upstairs and i decided to lose weight and get fit!! As a lorry driver i spend a lot of time sitting on my backside, so getting healthy is quite important, plus the fact of heart disease in my family which both of my grandads have had bypass surgery for! I was given a weider multi-gym by one of the customers i deliver to and about the time i started i also got my 1st I-phone with some very useful apps ( Who says technology is bad for you) Using myfitnesspal, runkeeper and Gymgoal as my tools on my phone i embarked on my personal fitness mission :-)!!
When i started i could hardly walk, let alone run without the most intense shin splints and know im doing a regular 5 mile jog and 4 days split weight training (Monday to friday = morning fasted cardio for 45 minute to 60 min sessions and Sunday = Chest/Tuesday = Back/Thursday = Shoulder and abbs/Friday = Legs + week of work inbetween lorry driving) Weights completed in my bedroom on multi-gym and cardio on the street!
Now my bodyfat is nearing where i want it to be my goal is going to change for the winter, i feel a bit skinny and now want to bulk up with minimal fat gains hopefully, With Myfitness pal im going to keep a tight watch on my calories during my bulk! Im also going to have to join a gym, as my multi-gym doesn'thave enough weight and im restricted with what exercises i can perform on it!! Im going to keep up the weights but go heavier and cut my cardio right down to 2 to 3 times a week, because my wife says i need to get another job to feed my self and i don't think i can fit that in!!
1st link is before pic.
2nd link is after just before my bulk which im starting soon!
Hey guys, I don't normally post but I figured I'd post something up because I made this last week and was showing some of my buddies. This is the progress I've made ever since I was a little kid. It took me a while because I didn't pick up lifting until recently,so it may be different from some of the other transformations you guys do in shorter periods of time, but I'm just happy that I didn't continue down the road that I was heading with my life.
(Sorry picture was supposed to go here but I can't post links because of my post count)
Nice work man.
I'm not 100% happy with my body right now (as you can see I still have some fat around my hips) but I'm a work in progress and I'm working my hardest right now to trim that fat around the edges. Thanks for listening! oh and yes my face looks so funny in that picture lol
Nice work man.
Hey guys. I really appreciate the encouragement and support that I have received in here since I posted my first set of pics a while back.
I have one more update before I really start the push to bulk up and fill out. I was trying to bulk a bit over the past 3 or 4 weeks but I ended up losing some more weight. For those that recall my story, I am now down to 160 Lbs. at less than 9.9% BF. A huge accomplishment for me. Gaining the strength back is going to be hard. The short version of the full story is in my sig.
Here is the full transformation over 11 months. Loose skin is the devil.
318 Lbs.
Now for the big push to put on some damn muscle again.
Great work man. OK some time has gone by so lets see if you added muscle like you stated you wanted to do.
Hey guys this is the before and after video of my cut. I started January 1st 218 pounds with way to much fat and I ended June 6th at 170 pounds let me know what you think.

Great job man! You looked pregnant in the first pic!ha Keep it up bro!
Hey everyone. I've been lurking in this thread for a while and I'm truly amazed at all the transformations that have been posted. You are all inspirations for me and so many other people who need a little extra motivation. What's my story? Well... I've always been athletic but over the past year...my weight kinda got away from me. I got back from a camping trip this past Aug 6 and stepped on the scale. 253 pounds! The next day...I woke up and just changed it all. Ive been hitting the weights everyday since then alternating days upper and lower body. also been doing 45 minutes to an hour on the spin bike a day. I weigh myself every Monday morning when I wake up. Here are the results:
After 1 week Mon, Aug 13 * *248.2. * * *-4.8
After 2 weeks Mon, Aug 20. *244.0. * * -4.2
After 3 weeks Mon, Aug 27. * 241.8. * * * *-2.2
After 4 weeks Mon, Sept 3. * *240.0. * * * *-1.8
After 5 weeks Mon, Sept 10. *235.6. * * * *-4.4
After 6 weeks Mon, Sept 17. *233.4. * * * -2.2
After 7 weeks Mon, Sept 24. *230.8. * * * *-2.6
I joined this site today so I weighed myself a day early for goal purposes. Today...I'm at 227. Down another 3.8 pounds for a total of 26 in 8 weeks. I have also gained quite a bit of muscle mass. Thank you to all of you who helped me stay motivated while creeping this thread! I will continue on my quest to my goal of 195. Almost half way there!!!
today i am officially 5 pounds away from my starting goal weight. at the end of 2009 i was roughly 220 lbs, i set a goal (at the time it was more of a dream) of 140 lbs. today i weighed myself and i'm officially 5 pounds away from the dream i had three years ago. back then i never imagined it possible, now that this seemingly unattainable goal has almost been reached... i gotta boast about lol holy crap it feels so ****ing good!!! i honestly don't even know where to go from here, my life goal is in reach, i never considered what would come next. all i know is that i've never been happier, nothing is out of reach, if you want something bad enough you can make it happen.
oh baby! Looking good! Nice work!
Not there yet but I am on my way!
1 march 143 kgs
27 sep 123 kgs
50 cm on my waist has gone and down from 42 inch to 38 inch in jeans!
Great job man! What was your diet/workout routine like? Im same height and 166lbs currently trying to get down to 145-150lbs.
Thanks mate, this is what I eat during the day:
Breakfast: Banana, protein shake, 2 pills of fish oil, 2 pills of glutamine, multivitamin
First break at work: Apple or some dried nuts or almonds
I get paid to go to the gym at my job, so I go before lunch. This is when I take my preworkout stacked with my creatine, then I go workout.
Lunch: Steak, fish or chicken breast with vegetables, I normally have green beans brocolly and mushrooms but if i don't have the time the day before to make the veggies I'll use them steamer bags that u pop in the microvawe for my veggies. 2 pills fish oil, 4 glutamine, 1 multivitamin, postworkout shake BBCAs
First thing I do after work is take a protein shake
Couple hours pass I start feeling hungry, I have a salad or just a small can of chicken breast, you can add tuna to your salad and boiled eggs.
Final meal egg whites ommelette with a couple scoops of salsa to make it eatable, then again 2 fish oil, 2 glutamine and multivitamin.
I workout 5 times a week, chest and triceps one day. Back and biceps another, shoulders and legs the next day. Abs I do everyday I work out. But anyways diet is really the key unleash you want to do cardio which i hate and haven't done : ). GL brah, stay motivated.
Spot reserved for my 11 week progress (October 2-December 17)
Edit: 1k post
congrats, thats amazing. very inspiring

So much motivation in this thread
Thanks man. There's no secret though.
I got most of my information from this site and just put it into practice.
Most important thing was getting my diet on point. I got the macros sorted and stuck to the deficit. I cheated maybe half a dozen times over the year when I cut. Bulking I can afford to be more liberal. I don't really look on it as a diet now though - after a year, it's just a way of life and the way I eat now. I hardly need to think about it.
Exercise-wise, I started out on All-Pro's routine and swam 3 or 4 times a week. After a month or two, I added a couple of isolation exercises to it and swapped the swimming for running. A few months later, I started doing All-Pros every other day. I didn't last too long at that as the exercises started mounting up so I went onto a typical 3 day split but ran that every other day too.
3 months after that, I started a 5 day split. I do Legs/Chest/Back/Off/Shoulders/Arms/Off. I'm on that one now. I take a few days off every 8 weeks but apart from that, I think I've only ever missed 2 workouts.
So really, you only need a few things - the knowledge to start out with, the diet, the exercise program and consistency. Put them together and you'll get the results which you're looking for.
In answer to your last question - I used to play rugby. But I'd never classify myself as an athlete and for the last 15-20 years, my exercise output has been precisely jack. So like I said, if I can do it, anyone can do it. I'm not eating humble pie when I say that I'm Mr Joe Average. I reckon I am. So although some people may not get the same results as quickly as I did, others may get them quicker. All they need are those few things I've listed up there.
Amazing transformation man.. I'm doing the allpro routine now.. On cycle 2 looking to take it to abt 4 complete cycles min. What type o isolation excercises did u do for your chest an arms.. Thanks and congrats to you.

awesome, great inspiration! I plan on having some pics for this thread in... well, a few months. Tons of great stories on here!
Went through 4 hip replacements when I was 16 and was on crutches for three years which made me gain a ton of weight. I am now 22 and made a lifestyle change to get into better shape. Any more advice would be appreciated.

Damn that was good man.
What was workout routine? And diet?
First and foremost, everyone in here has literally been an inspiration to me.
Age: 21
Height: 5'7 1/2"
Starting waist: 42 inches ish + (didn't properly measure when I first started)
Current waist: 35 inches
Starting weight: 233lbs
Current weight: 167.6
Goal weight: 155lbs - ish
Guess I should be doing more resistance training now more so than cardio to shift the last 14lbs or so?
Very much need to start doing the resistance training. And hard. Amazing transformation though man! Repped.
Nice work, I am currently around 115kg, but have a 44" waist so it's very impressive you can fit in those at that weight.

Hey im new to the site, just wanted to check in. In 2007 I weighed close to 300lbs, i was on and off untill now. And now after 3 months of solid exercising and dieting i am down to 195. I am 6'0 and around 20% bf i would say. I weighed around 215 when i started. Im not even close to my final goal of being ripped up yet, but i seem to not be making any changes here lately. what do yall think so far?
Here are my pics of my ongoing transformation. I started April of 2011 at 300lbs, at the beginning of August-12' I was down to 185. Currently I am at 203, I did a 30 day lean build and now I am cutting weight off again. The after pic with my shirt off is at 185, the after pic with my shirt on I am at around 205(current). Never picked up a weight in my life until September of 2011. From April-August 11' I was just doing cardio and meal replacement shakes(Herbalife) until I properly educated myself on fitness and nutrition and switched to whole foods and weight training. I am now addicted.
Edit- Also added one of my older pics. Comparison is from May 11'-February 12'.

From 244 to 180.
Took about 2.5 years.
My transformation :)
--short story, had some health issues and it made me gain quite a bit of weight..and then finally was able to lose it and here I am today shredding along ;)
I want to compete possibly next year! :)
Over the past two years I have worked with Sean Erhart with www.nattynutrition.com and currently working with Catherine Holland IFBB Figure Pro www.fitcatfitness.com
It is a good example of how a person can become completely different. I think the key to lose weight is motivation. My father also lost about 40 lbs. He had a lot of motivation. He followed the "Muscle Maximizer" program guide. He not only lost weight but also grow some muscle. I think this is the best program which helps to lose weight. But you must remember, that the main thing is MOTIVATION. About the program you can read here: buildingleanmuscle.mysel.eu/review
I hope it will help you... :)

First of all, congratulations to all achieving goals and changing their lives, it's a rewarding journey. Pat yourselves on the back and keep up the hard work. Here's my progress so far. It's not exactly where I want to be, but it's coming. I've become a little impatient with my progress as of late, but sometimes you just need to realize how far you come.
