Thanks.

Man, I'm still learning a lot, you know, but it was pretty much creating that calorie deficit, 500 below what I was burning each day, about 2000-2500 calories, and keeping my protein intake high, with high intensity training. I'm starting to get more serious so I'm starting to count all my macros now and adding re-feeds in each week, cut a little more then into a clean bulk over the winter!
Started my journey at the beginning of June 2012 and started lifting in mid June 2012. The photo attached shows a super chunky me on the left side weighing in at ~280lbs on May 2012 the photo on the right is me at 240lbs on July 16th 2012. Right now I'm 236 and still rocking the weight loss and slinging the irons.
I don't have a goal in mind for final weight but I hope to do something pretty incredible.
Good luck to everyone on their transformations and can't wait to see all your progress in the next 6 months!
Your timeline isn't making any sense to me. You lost 40lb in one month?
Congrats, tho!

Hey everyne!! Sorry I been away for so long,..been focused on my transformation. Well,..Im done! Im not the leanest Ive ever been but I feel fit and asthetically good! it was a 12 week transformation for civil servants. I am a detective for 15 years. I recently suffered from a horrific back injury that left me bed ridden for some time and partially, hopefully temprarily paralyzed from the knee down. Thjis teransformation challenge was what I needed to get my head back in the game and gain the confidence and physique I been strugglong to get back. In fact I feel I am even in a better palce than what I was before the injury.
I wrot a blog documenting my challenge with iSatori. Wether I win thje challenge or not, I already feel like a winner!

I've got a question for all you guys who lost 80+ pounds,
how many of you guys have problems with loose skin?
I'm currently 266 pounds @ 6ft1 down from 286 pounds and I've got a lot stretch markt around my stomach area.
both my parents lost 120 pounds+ and both had quite a fair amount of it.
However I've been told it can tighten up quite a bit if you're young (I'm 20)
Busting out of XXXL and 50's now I fit into a Medium shirt pretty well and lowest pair of pants I own are 33's but they are a little loose so I'm assuming I can fit into 32's.
Yikes looking through my pic's today and found this. I was about 308 here on December 16th 2010. Look at your own risk lol.
Here I am this morning at 167.4 before eating anything. Almost time to bulk!
Will post one more update in a month or two plan to get to 159 then will start my bulk.
WOW unreal.. awesome man great work.. i do have a question though... how did you go with excess skin?? what did you do to ger rid of it? did it resize naturally?

I need some advice, I've been on a cut for about 2 months now and have lost 30 pounds. I still have about 50 more to go though. I started out lifting pretty light and began to progress rapidly of about 5 pounds a week per exercise. For example I started with 20lb dumbells now I use 55's However my form is suffering on certain exercises. My question is would restarting and running through the circuit again be a bad Idea? I figure since I'm just burning fat not really gaining muscle it shouldn't matter?

bad form= injury
just drop a few lbs on the exercises your form is bad and work at it.
the best thing to do while cutting is to lift heavy

It's funny how similar our stories are in terms of starting weight. My highest weight was at 285 and I was down to 265 before starting college at 18. I'm currently at 165 lbs. I'm also 24 and 5'9'' (so you're doing better off in terms of height to weight ratio). You're still young and now is the time to start losing weight to have your skin bounce back. I used to constantly be afraid of loose skin + stretch marks, and it would constantly keep me down during my weight loss regimen. I can tell you now that I don't have any loose skin (some flab left at 11% bf, but definitely not loose skin). I posted before and after images of myself on the previous forum, but I'm going to re-post it again once I reach 8% bf (with a shirt off comparison).
I lost weight very slowly while I was converting my body composition in gaining muscle. I've read countless forums about how it doesn't matter how quick/slow you lose weight, but I'm extremely happy about my skin. As for stretch marks... they'll always be there, but once the fat comes off, they're hardly noticeable. It'll look gross now, but try pulling the skin apart on your stomach, that's what the stretch marks will look like once you've lost all the weight.
To be honest, I like the stretch marks (they're silvery lines that resemble body art). They also strike pretty amazing conversations regarding my weight loss journey and total body transformation.
Best of luck to you with your transformation! Props to you for starting an amazing journey. I look forward to seeing your transformation on this forum!

Around 1 1/12 months into my bulk, dropped from ~270 to 185. I'm at 200 in these pics. All my lifts are going up and i *think* my loose skin is starting to tighten up but i still have this huge fear of getting fat again and it's hard to tell for me lol.
-
Slowly getting to where i want to be... lose another 5-8kg for summer, stay lean, then clean bulk.. Sound right? Looking for advice and motivation.

So I started this thing February 6th, 2012 and my 6 month anniversary was this last Monday (08/06). So far I am down 90 lbs. Starting out I weighed in at 273 lbs, I am now 183 lbs.
Still have about 10-20 lbs I want to loose with current routine and diet. After that I'll slow bulk and maintain weight of 180-190 lbs for now.
Here I am at 250. Never did get a chance to get a pic when I first started :(
(Picture labeled as "1.jpg")
And currently at 183.
Side.
(Picture labled "photo-5.jpg")
Back. Something I didn't think was progressing that well.
(Picture labeled as "photo-4.jpg")
I'll rock the farmers tan till I have a six pack...
Don't even want to know what I am going to have to do to get rid of the loose skin/ tightening up. But I am ready for another 6 months of progress!
