You're my idol! I gotta do the same.
How old are you? What height? How many cutting and bulking cycles did you do to reach where you are??
Haha, I wouldn't go that far as idol, but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless. I'm 27, 5'10. I haven't really done any bulking cycles, i've just been trying to lose weight really. I didn't educate myself on all this stuff until about a year ago, but I had a friend who helped me out by designing workouts and diets for me. I think when I fell off my diets but kept at it at the gym could be considered a mini bulk, and most likely helped me gain some mass since I never really lost intensity while lifting.
dude thats amazing work. thats what im trying to acheive. repped for sure.
Thanks! It's funny reading people say they're striving to get to where i'm at because of the FFB syndrome (Former Fat Boy syndrome), I still see myself as that same fat kid. You'll get there for sure though. I believe anyone on these forums call reach their goals, I mean, we've already taken the first step just by coming here and finding motivation.
Repped back man

I'm doing 3 months of P90x from may to august 2012. Then i'll take a cutting break for 1 week and feed myself.
then i'll do starting strength for 3 months while cutting. Then change to something else after 3 months again.
Whaddaya think of this plan?
I made a thread, but I figured I'd throw it up in here also. This past saturday I finally hit my 100 pounds lost bench mark. I started at 285 and I finally got down to 185. I still have a bit to go I think before I start my lean bulk, I'm trying to get to 10%bf.

Hi Guys and girls
This is my first post on here after following the forum for a long time! This is my situation, i have been obese my whole life from a toddler up until now i am 36 years old. Basically in the last year i have dropped 8 stone from 24 stone down to just under 16 stone. I have bn left with alot of excess skin maybe 3-4 lbs at a rough guess? The problem now being do i need to lose more weight?or should i try and bulk up to put on mass? bearing in mind i am 6.5 feet. I know the picture is not amazing but hopefully it will give you an idea as to what i need to do.
Im sure there will be alot of pisstakers but i expect that. But any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Wolfie

Personally, I wouldn't even consider a bulk. If you start bulking, especially with your genetic propensity to gain fat, you're going to add more fat with the bulk. Your profile shows 19% body fat. If I were you, I'd focus on nothing but single digits for body fat percentage and then consider a bulk... wouldn't even whisper a mention of it before that.
Awesome job on the current weight loss. That's to be commended.. just keep doing what your doing and drop fat. 19% is way too high to think about a bulk.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the input Geoff. Much appreciated mate. The body fat percentage is not completley accurate, I could be 15-16 need to get it verified. The thing with losing more weight that worries me is my height. Being 6.5 and apart from the loose skin round my belly there isn't that much more fat on me. I will have to upload some pictures when I get home and post them up. Thanks for taking the time to respond mate.

Good work what are you looking to get down to?
This thread still keeps me motivated!
There are so many inspiring storys and transformations in this thread. It is bloody fantastic what people are achieving! I just wish I had got my act together years ago. I went to my local gp clinic today, and asked to get refered to my local hospital to get an accurate body fat percentage reading.

Honestly I'm pretty happy right around 200-210. I wouldn't mind getting into the 190s but I'm not too concerned about it. Everything is going really well right now, as long as I can stay uninjured. :)
Nice work guys!!

I got a quote of US$14,000. I don't have that kind of scratch, but I'm seriously considering taking out a home loan for it.
I'm working on 'acceptance', meanwhile. :)
Well, after 11 months my body fat goal has officially been realized. I wanted to hit 12% or lower.
Just had my hydrostatic body composition tests done today, and my hard work has paid off.
STARTED at
6'4"
320 Lbs.
Estimated body fat around 30% or higher
NOW at
6'4"
166 Lbs.
9.9% body fat
Lean Mass body Weight: 149.5
Resting Metabolic Rate: 1970 calories
I am beyond pleased with myself today, and am only more motivated now. Here are the results.

Here is an added pic of what I now look like. Now gotta bulk and define!

Also wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to every supportive person in the BBForum community. You guys are great motivators!
9.9% bf, nice job. I doubt you did that double fisting beers like in your before pics. :)
Hopefully I will be there in about two months, then I will start packing on the muscle. :)

Thanks a ton man.
...and yep, i actually started bulking about 3 weeks ago before the bodyfat test 'cause I knew the muscle gain would eat up some of that extra fat.

congrats man looking lean!
what kind of diet & workouts were you on? strictly cardio or did you mix in some weight lifting? would love to know..
congrats man looking lean!

Diet was alternated monthly based on a 300-600 calorie deficit on Non-Training Days, and a 200-400 calorie deficit on Training Days. Then on alternate months I went heavier with the calorie deficit going 500-700 on Non-Training Days and 500 on Training days.
HIIT Cardio at least 45 minutes 5-6 days a week, and of those 5-6 days a week I doubled up the cardio on 2 of the days to really push myself. I was constantly ratcheting the intensity and difficulty of my sessions the whole 11 months. Never want to finish with a workout and feel like it was easy to get through
Resistance Training 2-3 days a week, obviously not on the double cardio days.
I eat no milk/lactose except for Whey Protein Supplement, and eat only the most natural foods I possibly can. I tried to keep my protein intake at about .8g-1g per pound of bodyweight, and cycled carbs based on the workout intensity I needed or had. I never really ate more than about 90g-95g of carbs per day unless they were coming from fruit, etc., and on low carb days I stayed as low as about 45g sometimes.
*** Be warned! My muscle loss was significant in my fat cut, but it was worth it to me to get down to single digit BF before I started my bulk. If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me or something man!

Awesome job. What is your diet/nutrition plan?
Long time lurker here. I started my transformation last April doing the P90X program. I have continued with it until this day. Been fat my entire life and was 325 lbs. when I decided to make a change. No bad health issues, I just decided it was time to make a change to be around a little longer. As of today I'm 208 lbs. and going for more. My original goal was to get under 300 lbs., but now I'm almost addicted to working out. I feel great and the reactions I get from people that have known me since I was young is crazy. This is the lightest I've been since I was 13 years old. I'll be 28 next week. The best part is I work for Whole Foods and we get higher discounts based on how healthy we are when it comes time for yearly health screenings. Last year I was in the morbidly obese and high risk category for everything. This year I made gold and was only .7 away from achieving the highest platinum category due to my height to waist ratio. I still have a long way to go and working on getting better every day. Pictures go from my heaviest around 330 to the last picture on May 1st where I weighed in at 210.
very nice work man!
