Try this site. It gives you counts for your BMR and TDEE and then calculates how many calories you should eat each day.

my macros was 40/40/20 :)
This is my first post on this forum.
To date I have dropped from weighing 300 Lbs to a low of 169 Lbs, but am currently sitting at 175. While I do not know my original or current body fat (something I should figure out) I can say that I have gone from wearing a tight 42 pants and XXL shirt to wearing a 30/32 (depending on the type of pants) and S/M depending on the type of shirt.
I made this drop, and have kept off the weight, from being a hard core calorie counter. Now it's time to add some muscle. Here is a photo taken today, I obviously have a lot of work to do, but I am motivated and working hard in the gym to add some muscle weight. I have also included a picture of me throwing shot put my sophomore/junior year of high school for comparison.
I look forward to learning more about fitness from everyone here.

Boring yawn etc etc i hear yall say... But it worked and is still working.... (I will treat n eat) when bulking and repeat the grime when cutting.... Simples.....

If it aint broken dude... Dont fix it...... N u certainly aint broken.
can't post my pics or links yet but they're on my profile. feb 1st 2012 I started losing weight and gained 20 lbs of LBM in the process. I was already a pretty stocky guy before I gained my weight so it was easy. didn't have to starve myself and I just started going to the gym a month ago so I am planning big for my future. I'm currently around 16-17%.
Wow folks, these pics are really inspiring! I've dropped a little over 100lbs myself so far. I'm posting from my phone so no pics on the thread yet but they are on my profile. While I feel a lot better physically, all of the loose skin is messing with my head. I will try and drop at least 40-50 more lbs and am wondering how bad it will get. I'm not about to sabotage myself but it does get rough sometimes. Anyway, keep up the great work!

I had a few problems with that too but it got better when I started lifting weights. I use Aminogen, Cell-u-loss and Cell Activator from herbalife but anything that assists in collagen production will help. Drinking lots of water to the point of flushing also helped. don't worry, it will tighten up with time, it's just a slow process. keep up the awesome work!

Whatever you want in life you can achieve! Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He's the only one who has truly helped me through this journey of fat, depression, and drugs while giving me a reason to live life.
Amen, brother; amen.
Man every transformation in this thread is inspiring. I am 5'8 and 24 (soon to be 25) years old. I am pretty much a newbie to everything and have started really reading into nutrition and weightlifting. I feel stupid posting my unimpressive before and after but I thought I would so I could get some info. The first is a while ago in April 2012, a little after my birthday, I was about 220-230lbs. The last one is about last week, I am about 190 there. I had started doing starting strength in about early February 2013 but this week I stopped due to lower back problems (probably because I have most likely have crappy form on the lifts.) Anyway, I would like to know, should I keep doing starting strength or should I do something else? I apologize for the newb question, and I have looked at a number of threads including the all pro's and I am still confused as to where I should start.

Definitely This ^^^^^
Keep your head up and push for your goal brah. Everybody has strengths in their own ways, and if you take the step to start, your already strong.
I should have looked at more and grouped all these together. Everyone is doing an outstanding job with weight loss, body building, body transformations. Strength lies within you, so maintain your strength and push your goals to their limits. Awesome!
Its a bit discouraging to see people my height transform from my current weight and on their before picture look skinnier than me now. Sure everyone is different but it makes me wonder if its even worth it to train hard to get the body you desire when you might not end up looking like you want to.

buddy... Body composition is different to EACH and EVERY one of us..... You are unique in your own way...
Remember Mr X may be your height but his bodyfat % may be lots lower than yours hence showing more muscle.. He may also have more musle than you hence the weight balance between you and them...
At first maybe its not to train (HARD) but to eat solid... I think it is an excellent idea for people to place the nutritional needs for your goals into the main priority. This will eventually be the main key to the transformation of the weight loss... The reps, sets, burn n all the gym lifting n pulling can be altered to shock your body but your nutrition is what gets you to the foundation and build from there.....
Not sayin ur fat or skinny or toned as not seen your pics but 90% of the people on this thread have had to get the nutrition to as close as perfect as possible to get to the skinny before the bulk or to lose weight and maintain as much muscle and strength as possible..
Dont get disheartened... Why bother looking at others????
If i looked at everyone in the gym i would go nuts..... His arms... That guys glutes.... Wow look at his shoulders.....
Everyone everywhere admires someone... New gym bloke looks at people and hopes to be somewhere like the gut pressing his bodyweight etc etc.
Your 5.11 219 lb.... 15 odd stone.......... and???
I am 5.9 maybe 8 as like to think im taller than i am like most guys... But i was 16 and a half stone mate and at far smaller than you i looked pretty darn chubby.... But after hard work in the gym and kitchen and with ZERO cardio i am where i am now... And still no where near where i want to be.....
Stick with it..... Fook everyone else..... Believe in yourself..... As with thousands of ladies and gents in these 2 fat to fit forums its possible and maybe salad n crappy chicken n no fast food but look what that sacrifice gives you in the end....
just chin up n crack on buddy.

i have to agree! some people have it easy with a high metabolism and some people have it tough an have a hard time losing fat. but like Arnold Schwarzenegger said "when you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength." Strength training is the biggest metabolism boost and overcoming metabolism difficulties is probably the most rewarding thing you can accomplish. Don't get discouraged-- get inspired!! work hard and give it time! ask for advice here and you'll definitely get it.
any advice?
Dont take pictures while guys are in towels behind you :)
Awesome job. Whats the time frame between the two?
Oh wow Great transformation
Still in the beginning stages but the left picture was taken January 4th 2013 I was 234 about 27% BF (estimate) Right was earlier today at 206.6 16.4 % BF (estimate) hoping to get to 185-188 and 8-9.5% BF by May
February 2012 on the right... February 2013 on the left
Four and a half years ago I was told that I would be in a wheelchair within five years!! At first I did not take the news seriously, always putting off a new life until tomorrow!! I finally made tomorrow arrive through taking the first step towards the sunrise!! The transformation has to be one of the entire being or it will not work!! I have discipline that I have never possessed before!! There are certain tools that have helped me reach that discipline, my cell phone alarm goes off almost hourly reminding me what I have to accomplish within the hour!! While it can get annoying to my wife it helps me develop these things into second nature!!
Because I look at this as a total soul transformation I can guarantee that the wheelchair will NEVER ARRIVE!! I have made great strides in 39 days and I plan to continue through with proper exercise and nutrition!!! Discipline is the key, the mind has to be focused on the goal, only then can you continue to move forward!!
Hey guys, as the title states, here is my 10 week progress going from 210lbs to 190lbs. This thread and forum has given me a lot of motivation and inspiration so I thank you all. I started out with mainly body weight exercises that I found online for the first 7 weeks or so and eating 3-4 smaller meals per day based on info from the nutrition forums and I lost about 15lbs, but I didn't have much muscle left so I switched to my own variation of the ICF 5x5 and All Pro routines to try and maintain/gain some muscle. I've also started trying IF the last couple of weeks and it has helped me lose another 5lbs or so but my weight fluctuates day to day depending on my workouts/what I eat. I'm in the tough zone trying to lose fat/gain muscle. So far so good and I'm looking to get down to 185 or so and then will start a clean bulk into the summer.
I also wanted to provide some motivation to others with my personal story. My journey started when a girl I truly loved, my best friend lied to me, cheated on me and betrayed me. After being depressed and lonely for a few weeks I decided to make a positive change in my life. With the help from family, friends, church I was able to start down the path of getting into the best physical shape of my life, as well as emotionally and spiritually. For anyone out there that is feeling low or bad about themselves, don't worry things can only get better, but only if you want to make the changes for yourself. Just reach out to people and they will support you, listen to you, talk to you. Set a goal and start doing it. It's not easy by any means but it's been one of the most rewarding and proudest things I have accomplished so far. Also use the vast knowledge on these forums. I've spent many hours just on these forums reading stories and learning more about nutrition, diets, fitness and getting in shape than I ever wanted to know.
Wow all these pics are very inspiring
update, sorry the pic said 2012, its supposed to be 2013.

Good job. Did you mean February 2013 for the final date? It says 2012 but that would be <4 months between the start and finish point.

sorry my bad. yeah its supposed to be 2013. thanks.
From around June 2012 -> February 2013-
Sorry for the phaggy time editing in my last photo/poverty photoshop skills as a whole.
Still cutting, trying to get to a relatively low BF% (10%~) so that I actually feel like
I'm not fat, 'cause all this **** in my head is still messing with me, making me think I
at times look fat...
Such is the life of a former fatty.
EDIT: So far around 100kg (220lbs) -> 72.2kg (170lbs)
Awesome work everybody! It's official today I've hit 50lbs lost since last July 2012!!! Just need to drop another 15 or so lbs and I hope I'm 15% or under! I think this is where I'm going to have to push even harder to get there! 23% bf according to my scale I know it's not total correct but it shows progression!
What is all your views on firelean extreme and fat burners I'm thinking of given then a shot
Good job
3,5 months progress. still a long long way to go
Can anyone help me out with my body fat percentages? I can't find a scale that is reliable. My gym says I'm 11.3% and my home scale says I'm 20.5%. Here is a before and after photo...I'm on a 12 week plan right now and I'm in week 5. Estimations of both body fat percentages would be great. Thanks for your help.
