Growing up I was always the fat kid struggling with weight and eating problems throughout my life. I reached over 300 pounds (130 kg, 28% body fat) by the age of 16, and I was heading towards a very dangerous path. I once ate 34 slices of pizza at an eating contest (winning of course); to be that overweight and able eat that much as a teenager was very risky. If I had stayed on that path I would not expect to live a very long or healthy life. My body is still covered in stretch marks from just how over weight I was. I always hated them, trying to find out ways to get rid of them. Now, I love them! They are my “tattoo’s”, they are scars that I will have for life constantly reminding me every day of where I have been, what I have done to be where I am today. Growing up I was teased and made fun of at school, I was terrified to ever take my shirt off in public. I would fake being sick whenever we had to go swimming for class, and wouldn’t enjoy going to the beach because I could never take my shirt off like my friends and class mates. I didn’t enjoy a lot of things growing up because of the fact that I was overweight. I knew I was different, and I knew that people looked at me differently. One day I just had enough, promising myself that I will make a change. I had a dream, a dream that one day I will have one of the most amazing bodies people have ever seen. I saw the people on the cover of fitness and bodybuilding magazines and pictured myself looking like that. I wanted a body that looked like it was sculpted out of stone. The body of my dreams! After being so self-conscious of my image all those years, it made me want something that was exceptional, not normal. I never was normal, so why start now I figured. I wanted to change my body, and I was willing to work as hard as I possibly could to make it happen. No one ever believed I could do though. How can a fat kid that can’t stop eating have an impressive body? No one believed I could even lose any weight, yet alone have a sculpted 6 pack. This doubt, this “hate” just made me want it even more. I wasn’t just doing this for myself anymore; I was doing to prove everyone wrong. I had faith in myself, that I could achieve anything I put my mind to. I had a dream, and I wasn’t going to let anyone or anything stand in my way! I'm now an aspiring fitness model/bodybuilder, and I want to continue to prove others wrong on the path to all my dreams!
Below are some of my pictures. It is great to be on here and see everyone else's transformations, it is really inspiring as I know exactly what they went through! Keep training hard, eating smart and may all your dreams come true!
that is brilliant and inspirational
thank you
Thanks!! Let's see if this works...
My body is always a work in progress. Photos are from my IG.
Before Stats:
17th birthday
- Ate whatever
- Didn't move around much
- Probably ~ 175 lbs / 32%+ BF
After seeing the pictures from my birthday once they were developed, I was shocked at what I saw; the person in the mirror didn't look like that to me. That's when I started dieting and dropped 20 lbs in a month. I loosened the reigns thereafter but still dropped another 10 lbs within another 3 months because I completely changed the way I was eating and started to pay attention to what I was putting in my mouth.
May 2009 I started working out at Curves and went from 154 lbs 29.4% to 145 lbs 24.9% (figures are easy to remember hehe). At a point I broke 139 lbs in 2009, my lowest weight ever, while doing the Curves circuits, but only was able to get that low doing crazy fasting diets (e.g: master cleanse), at which point I stopped exercising and dieting and started yo-yoing between ~140s-150s.
After Stats:
Do the math... a lady doesn’t reveal her age ;)
- I eat relatively "clean," read way too much, and try all the "diets" that I read about. Paleo, Keto, Atkins, IIFYM, urrythang.
- Started lifting Feb 2012 3-4x/wk on a split schedule. Added swimming 3x/wk in the summer. Switched out swimming for kickboxing in the fall 5x/wk.
Feb 2012: 145 lbs ~27% body fat
Dec 2012: 142 lbs 21% body fat
Now I eat according to the glycemic index. 5-6x a day 2-300 cal meals. That's what works for me.
Biggest accomplishment was not yo-yoing throughout 2012! Now my goal is to get to 18-
*it worked it worked!! yayyy
Great job. You look awesome

well yall i really wanted to shared my progress pics on here but, I must have to post more before it will let me soooo... Here I am posting :) I have my pics on my profile and would love it if anyone interested would check them out maybe leave a bit of feed back. That is one thing that helps keep me motivated is recognition for the hrs i put in at the gym, It is some times easy to loose motivation when the minor gains made daily or weekly are not very noticeable to your own eyes. Anyway loving the forums and getting inspired from your transformations!!!
Good job everyone!
First pic may of 2010, and last pic may 2012. Lots of mistakes in the beginning, lost alot of mass at the last diet (did a lot of running while on low intake). But i think the result is "ok" for an oldie like me :-) Iv been on a bulk for the past 8 months and im 13kg (29 lbs) heavier now.
You're right! I'm gonna try and get a diet plan going into the new year. I keep forgetting to come back here. It gives great motivation.
If you are anything like me you'll have even less time after college. There is always time for a work. 45 minutes X 3 times a week would get you off to a great start....everyone can find 2-3 hours a week
The majority of these transformations are amazing, congrats to everyone. Heres my Fat to FIT, around 6 1/2 months of cutting and lifting on the regular. Starting my clean bulk this week. Cut from 202 to 160 Current

I´m almost the same height and weight as you. Started @ 293lbs, now down to 274,5 in 2,5 or 3 weeks. Lets do this together, I aim @ 220lbs by the end of May!

I have always come to this thread for motivation when I was feeling down and wanting to give up. My goal was to be able to one day post a picture on here so that I could motivate others just like everyone has done for me. My lifestyle change began a year ago as a New Years Resolution that I stuck to, also quit smoking (very tough at the same time, don't recommend it lol). I am by no means done but just wanted to post a "ONE YEAR PHOTO."

My transformation

Nice job everyone! Seeing all these pics is really motivational!
So, after 2 years joining and leaving the gym, not taking my diet serious, drinking a lot of alcohol and seeing my physique getting worse and worse each day despite working out, I decided I had to make dramatical changes in my life.
I began dieting last month and this time i'm not giving up, no matter what!
Pic in the left 99.7kg, 24.9% BF.
Pic in the right 94.4 KG, 19.2% BF.
1 month of diet. A lot more to come!
Ps.: I'm new here, how do I put my pics directly in my post?

Sort of embarrassed to post this lol.
Still have a crazy amount to go.
But this is a progress shot from September to November of 2012
My initial weight was 158lbs, Now im down to 135lbs (as friday).
Been really mindful of my diet, and really hitting the gym hard.
I was a gym junkie a few years ago, but a surgery stopped me from going, and I lost my motivation.
Im back at it now, and absolutely hooked again..
-
I don't have transformation pics to post. I just signed up today due to the original "Fat to Fit Transformations" forum.
I hope I can post here really soon to possibly encourage someone as you guys have encouraged me!

Not gonna quote and post on everyone... but amazing job by everyone ITT.

Of course there is a long way to go for me, but I just started for 2 months. Never did much of fitness actually, so I think the progress is alright.
Before (28th of october 2012): 85,7 kg
After (5th of january 2013): 73,6 kg
